Hello Division 3 Parents,
I know how excited Division 3 is about our field trip to Science World this coming Tuesday. Before we head off on December 3rd, here are some key things to note.
To start off, I want to give a big thanks to all the parents who have volunteered to chaperone or drive our students for the day. Thank you dearly for taking time out of your busy schedule, it is much appreciated 🙂
What students need to bring on the day of the field trip?
(1) a packed lunch with a snack and water bottle (Since we have a set itinerary, please do not send money with your child to purchase lunch at Science World as they will have limited time.)
(2) a warm coat and gloves (Students will be meeting at the entrance of Science World as separate car groups arrive. We are required to only enter when the entire class has arrived. Even though this will only be for 5-10 mins, it is cold outside so make sure your child is dressed warm.)
What students DO NOT need to bring on the day of the field trip?
(1) a backpack (The Science World staff has made it clear that because of limited space to hang backpacks, students are not encouraged to bring them.)
(2) valuable items such as money, cell phones, jewelry (It is not encouraged that students bring valuable items to school or on a field trip. If you insist for your child to bring his/her cell phone so you may reach them, please note it is their responsibility to look after it.)
Info for all drivers and chaperones:
Here is the field trip car/chaperone groups and schedule of the day:
Science World Field Trip Groups and Schedule
Please read this document thoroughly if you are chaperone and/or driver so you know what to expect. I will also give you a paper copy on the day of the field trip. Feel free to email me if you have any specific questions.
All drivers and chaperones are encouraged to come to the classroom at 9:00am on Tuesday, December 3rd. I will take attendance, go over our behavioral expectations, go over the shape of the day, and introduce each of you to our students before we head out.
If you are parking your vehicle for the day at Science World and staying to chaperone, please keep your parking receipt and give it to me for reimbursement. Select the option to park for the whole day of $16.50.
If you are just dropping off students and you are one of the first vehicles to arrive at Science World, please make sure there is another adult chaperone waiting with the students at the entrance before you leave. It is important that we do not leave our students unsupervised.
Looking forward to this field trip!
Thanks everyone,
Ms. Liu 🙂
