THE 2020 ELECTION RECAP
NDP won a majority government.
NDP 55 LIB 29 GRN 3 OTH NO
The NDP last won a majority government in 1996.
There are 87 ridings.
Jennifer Whiteside won, my region is New Westminster, 9,176 she got.
1.8m voters voted.3.5m registered voters it could be higher since this was the lowest here in bc since the 1950s.
Free $1000 to all bc families, Free transit for children under 12, A second medical school in the province.
A disagreement with Nicole Paul and his policies.
Major disagreements include Leadership for the liberals, NDP environments plan,BC greens economic plan.
I think this election was alright. I mean I accepted the NDP to win but it was fun. One thing I was very surprised about is the Liberals not having many seats sure 33 is a lot but still.I know why John Horgan called the election isn’t it obvious, he wanted a majority government what a wuss. Anyway I think the Green policies were alright but my dad did not like their policies, The Liberals cut PST was a good policy but their other policies were meh or bad. Also I think the news broadcast was good but however it was also quite misleading well not really but part of the commentary was useless lol. For some reason the Independent got 0 seats despite getting seats early on, (K). Anyway final thoughts the election is weird but fun, also if you are reading this you have a big life K bye.
I think the student vote thing was a good opportunity for us students and I am here to talk about that.
The NDP’s won by majority government and won by a lot, and this is provincial. NDP: 55 seats Liberals: 29seats Green: 3 seats. The last time the NDP’s won in a majority government was 1996, so a while ago. Now time for some interesting things. There were exactly 87 ridings. Katrina Chen was elected for my area Burnaby Lougheed. The name of my riding as you already know is Burnaby Lougheed. The winning politician for my area got 7669 votes, impressive I must add. 1.8 million voters voted, and there were 3.5 million registered votes. I think it could have gotten more votes, because more people could have gotten out and actually voted instead of just staying at home and just doing nothing. 3 major policy announcements are free transit for children under 12, free $1000 to all BC families, and a second medical school in BC. 2 major reasons Andrew Wilkson was criticized are he disagreed with Nicole Paul, and his policies. Some major reasons that all parties faced was people criticizing and not liking them and leader ship for all parties and one for BC greens is their economics plan. My thoughts for the elections was that it was fair that the NDP’s won because in Canada, especially BC there are a lot of immigrants. And most of them who come here are usually with no money, well they do have money just not a lot and I’m not calling them poor by the way. And plus they might have tried to escape a country war and they might have lost lots of money by that. And that’s why I think that why the NDP’s won is good. And I would like to say thank you for reading this 😊. BY: ALAN
1.The NDP won a majority or the government election.
2.The NDP won 55 seats and the liberal won 29 and the greens won 3
3. it was 24 years ago so that will be in 1996
4.there were 87 seats because I looked it up and I saw it will the NDP won 55 ridings and the liberal won 29 and the greens won 3
5. I voted NDP who is john Horgan
6. the numbers are candidates elected 43,41,3,0,0,60,14,12,1,0 ok that’s the numbers the valid votes are 796,672 795,106 332,387 20,956 28,793 65,205 47,641 42,651 3,626 8,156 and the popular votes are 40.4 40.3 16.8 1.1 1.4 38.9 28.5 25.5 2.2 4.9
7. Sonia Furstenau john Horgan Andrew Wilkinson
8. Andrew got criticized because he said something about hospitals and guns
9.the three mayors got criticized because they back tracked and saw this build by polygon houses
10. to vote john Horgan and my thoughts are that people should vote for the right person and not the wrong one because that can cause a breakout in Canada and people won’t like the something that the mayor won’t like, and people will ask for another vote because they won’t like the things the mayor makes a legal.
1.The NDP won a majority, because most of the people vote for him, because people think he is a great leader. John Horgan did some great stuff for the community like water or light ETC……..
2.The NDP have 59 seats, and 40 percent people vote for them. The green party has 16,and 28 percent people vote for them. The BC leberals have 12 seats, and 25 percent of people vote for them. The conservative have 1 seat, and 2.5 people vote for them. The chp have 1 seat, and 0.4peoplevotefor them.
3.The NDP John Horgan last win was 24 years ago.
4.This is a list of Canada’s 338 federal electoral districts (commonly referred to as ridings in Canadian English) as defined by the 2013 Representation Order. Federal electoral districts are constituencies that elect Members of Parliament to Canada’s House of Commons every election.
5. My riding is the NDP John Horgan, and he got 40 percent of the people to vote for him.
6. 3.8 million people registered, and 1.8 million people voted. I think it should be higher, because 3.8 people registered it should be 2.6 or 4 million people vote , so it will be closter.
7. 1000 dollar for every family and free transportion, and wasting ETC…
8. Andrew Wilkinson is stepping down as leader of the B.C. Liberals after the party lost a projected 12 seats in Saturday’s election — including some in traditional Liberal strongholds.
“Leading the B.C. Liberals have been a great honour, but now it’s time for me to make room for someone else to take over this role,” Wilkinson said in a brief statement Monday afternoon. He did not take questions from the media.
9. With the country in the midst of a recession, nearly eight-in-ten registered voters (79%) say the economy will be very important to them in making their decision about who to vote for in the 2020 presidential election.
10. I think it is pretty fair, because the NDP John Hargon promised that he would give 1000 dollar to people, and he promised a lot of stuff too.I think nobody can say any bad stuff, because he won fair a square by getting the most votes. If people get mad maybe next time for example the green party will win, so you don’t need to be mad.
1. In the CBC News website, it says that the NDP will create a majority government in BC after 20 years. The NDP leader’s name is John Horgan. If you don’t know what a majority government is, it’s a when one or more governing parties that hole multiple seats for that occasion.
2.
3. For the NDP party to the majority government could see that the NDP party had about 14 seats in the 2020 provincial election.
4.
5. They said in the website that the last NDP won a majority government in 1991.
6.
7. There were about 87 ridings during the election.
8. The NDP party got 55 votes, the Liberal party got 29, and the Green party got 3 votes.
9.
10. They said that there were about 52% (but probably higher) of people. In our sheet it says that the leader of the parties needs a 51 of votes to win. But what I got for my answer for the votes of how many votes the NDP got was 55. So, I think they went for the First-Past-the-Post election. Honestly, I don’t really think that there is no need for more votes. He already won so why would you need to add more votes to someone. It’s somewhat forcing the person to just add another vote to someone they don’t want to vote and to someone who already won.
11.
12. They promised that every day, they will give 10$ to childcare, and stop rent until next year. The last thing he’s promised is he will help a $1,000 need for families with households under around $125,000.
13.
14. During his speech, he said “They talked about guns in hospitals, which nobody has ever heard of, they talked about rural policing, they talk about five days’ pay for people who are in a tough marriage, and that’s it.”. In a way, he was practically being bias, kind of turning his good speech into something a lot different on what is said on the website.
15.
16. The NDP was criticized from the rumors from Liberal, Liberal was criticized from giving rumors about NDP and Green was criticized about how they had any other ideas other than natural cares.
I think that the NDP did deserve the win. He had a good speech. Honestly, I think that the Liberal wasn’t that good for kind of twisting John Horgan’s speech and didn’t apologize for. And I think that the Green did do a pretty good job. But I think that the NDP put out a better speech. Plus, they’ve been the first NDP majority government ever in 1991. But honestly, it depends on what he plans and
This year, 2020, an election was called for the provincial government in British Columbia, Canada. The premier, John Horgan of the New Democratic Party, was running again. Horgan had a couple of opponents, Sonia Furstenau of the BC Green Party, and Andrew Wilkinson of the BC Liberal Party. The winner of the election was Horgan, he won a majority government with 59, of the 87 seats. The Greens got 16 seats, with the liberals with 12. The last time the NDP had a majority government was in 1996. There are 87 ridings in BC, my riding was Edmonds, Burnaby, which was won by Raj Chouhan, with 6861 votes. Only 52.4% of the 240,000 voters. The NDP said they would give money to families in need, and they would also get more doctors, and give free vaccines for Covid-19. Andrew was criticized for saying that poor people shouldn’t have children if they can’t afford them, and people thought that Wilkinson was arrogant. All parties had problems though, Horgan’s plan wasn’t cheap, Wilkinson didn’t have a strong position, and the Greens wanted to have no carbon, which isn’t a very smart idea.
My opinion: I think the Liberals would have been good, because they have a plan to remove tent cities, and tent cities are dangerous. I am not that surprised that the NDP won, because they won before and people are okay with them. I am glad that the Greens didn’t win, because they want to stop carbon emissions, which will not work, because the only other power source is electricity, and if everything used electricity, prices would rise to a dangerous amount that will be out of reach for many people. Having electricity is necessary for heat, and cooking. At the end of the day, our province chose the NDP, and that is what we have for now.
1Yes, the NDP did win in fact and they celebrated their victory.
2NDP won 8-18 seats for BC and green won 3 seats and last of all liberals won 156 in total.
3They did in 2020 a few days ago, yes NDP did win in 2020.
4. 87 ridings for everything.
5. Raj Chouhan was elected and he was a part of the MLA.
6. 500 000 voted and maybe even more. Many hundreds of thousands votes yet to be counted they said.
7. They said including expanding $10-a-day child care and implementing a rent freeze until the end of next year. There was also a promise to provide a $1,000 recovery benefit for families with annual household incomes under $125,000.
8. Because he did the worst showings in decades and also because he did REALLY bad everyone who liked him was mad at him. And because he did so bad he asked to skip it
.
9. Liberals wanted to skip because he did one of the worst that people have seen. The Green party did kinda bad things and said some stuff that made some people not like her as much. NDP did kinda bad but did fine at the end and thats why they one
10. I didn’t really watch it that much. But I was surprised and so were many people when I saw Andrew Wilkinson because he did a horrible job as a leader. But it was kinda fun, kinda boring at the same time. I don’t know that many things about the green party and NDP in general. My thoughts where i wonder if he is a good prime minister and if he would make good choices as the new prime minister. I don’t know how to end this off but to be honest it was a good choice from the people.
1) The B.C NDP party had a majority government, as they had 14 seats.
2) The B.C NDP party had 55 seats. The B.C. Greens had 3 seats, and the B.C. Liberals had 29 seats.
3) This is the NDPs first majority government since 1996.
4) There are 87 ridings.
5) Raj Chouhan was elected in the Burnaby-Edmonds riding. Raj Chouhan had 61% of the total votes, having 6,861 total votes.
6) More than a million of the 3.5 million registered voters in B.C have voted so far.
7) The 3 major policy re-announcements that the B.C NDP ran with are free transit for kids 12 and under, a second medical school in B.C, and give a benefit of up to $1000 to families.
8) Andrew Wilkinson was criticized for not being able to interact and communicate with voters and for his lack of leadership.
9) The parties were criticized for not being able to focus on the opioid crisis and Indigenous relations. They were also criticized for having no diversity among the candidates, also having very few female candidates.
10) I was surprised when the B.C Liberals leader, Andrew Wilkinson, was demonstrating poor leadership. This was shocking to me, as I read a lot of good facts about Andrew Wilkinson on the internet, but now I see those facts were probably biased. I am surprised that the B.C NDP party is ahead by about one hundred thousand votes compared to the Liberals. It is also surprising to me that this is the B.C NDPs first majority government since 1996, because that is 24 years, and 24 years is a long time. I am also surprised that the BC Greens only have 184,921 votes compared to the 427,889 votes the liberals got and the 544,083 votes that the B.C NDPs have.
1. The NDP won a majority of the voter because they had won 55 seats when you only needed 50 seats to win.
2. The NDP won 55 seats, while the liberal party won 29. The Green Party won 3 seats.
3. The NDP hasn’t women an majority since 1996.
4. There were nine ridings.
5.
6. 3.5 million registered voters voted in the end. I think there could be more people.
7.
8. The liberal party was highly criticized because of a sexist comment made by Jane Thornthwaite toward NDP candidate Bowinn Ma. They were also criticized by the disagreement caused by Chilliwack-Kent between candidate Laurie Throness.
9. They were all criticized by not talking about the problem and discrimination the aboriginal people are facing and the large amount of white men candidate.
10. I am personally pretty happy about the election results . I agree with the things the ndp party believes. However I think the Liberals should have gotten an higher number. Even through I agree with the NDP party, I strongly support the liberals. I think it is more likely you reduce inequality than get rid of it. But supporting the liberals doesn’t mean I support how Andrew Wilkinson shouldn’t have said something more serious about the sexist comments. Although I thought the election went pretty well, I am a bit surprised that the parties didn’t talk about the relationship between the aboriginal people. As we all know, aboriginal people been discriminated in the past. I also think their answers to the aboriginal question should have been better. The election went pretty well. Good job John Horgan. Looks like we have him till the next election.
Hi! Today I will be giving you some information about the provincial election that happened recently and some of my thoughts about it.
To begin I will be telling you that the NDPs won by a majority government, and they got 55 seats. The green party got 3 and the liberals had 29 seats. The shocking fact is that the last time they got the majority government was 24 years ago, 1996. There are 87 electoral districts in BC ( ridings). My riding is Burnaby Edmonds and Raj Chouhan was elected for having 6,861 votes. Since Tripat Atwal (liberal) had 3072 votes and Iqbal Parekh green party had 1270 votes.
More than 1 million of 3.5 million registered voters voted in the election. I think that there could have been 2 million people voting because getting to vote is really good, what id we didn’t get a chance to vote for our leader in a country we live in. Some re-announcements that the NDPs ran for where that $10 a day childcare and having a rent freeze till next year. They were promising a 1,000 recovery benefit to families with annual household incomes under 125,000.
In the process of the election, Andrew Wilkinson was criticized for 2 major things he did, one thing he got criticized was that in the debate for the campaign both John Horgan and Andrew Wilkinson were asked how they feel about their white privileges. While John Horgan says “ I do not see color,” Andrew said he was a doctor and after delivering an indigenous baby the baby was named after him. (That is just odd to say that.) One more thing he was criticized for was that he didn’t really respond to when a candidate said a sexist comment to an NDP candidate. Some things that all 3 parties were criticized for were that for not focusing on the opioid crises and indigenous relations, they were also criticized for having a lot of white and male candidates.
So, finally, I can tell you some of my thoughts on the election. First of all, I think John Horgan definitely deserves to win because the things he said in his speech were very relieving because lots and lots of people are dying in the pandemic and he is trying to make that better. The second is that I am angered! Why are most of the candidates male and white. They SHOULD get criticized for that! Also after Ms.Panesar explained it to me why it is important to learn about this and vote I am so grateful to be in a country that is trying to make sexism better because in some countries as I said before women aren’t even allowed to vote. I think that learning all this information today about the election was very interesting because before I didn’t know anything about politics.
So these are my thoughts and some information about the election!
Thanks for reading!!:)

Post response, not link, please!
As You’ve seen on the news the NDP won the votes! They had a total of 55 provinces that elected NDP and the Liberals won only 29 the Greens fell short with only 3 province voting. The NDP won a majority of all the votes even with the Greens and Liberals they aren’t even close to the NDP. The amount of seats for the NDP was tied along with the Liberals with 41 seats but the green fell short and only got 2 seats. The independent also got 2 seats and 1 extra seat was empty. The last time something like this happened where the majority of votes were NDP was 1996 which was 24 years ago and won 39 seats. For the ridings they won 87 ridings and Raj Chouhan was the guy for the NDP party. For the voting 3.5 million registered but only more than a million votes were casted this number could have been higher with the amount that registered but the amount was already a rough estimate of the amount needed so could have gone higher but having the same seems better. There were re-announcement for the NDP was a public health against covid, 10$ child care, and 1,000 dollars for those who can’t earn more than $125,000.Andrew Wilkinson was criticized for mainly 2 reasons 1: it was his leadership about making sexist comments from Jane Thornthwaite to NDP Bowinn Ma. and 2: he couldn’t prevent hostility from Laurie Throness they couldn’t send in another candidate in time. But all 3 were criticized the 3 things are 1:failed to focus on the opioid situation 2: indegounos relation and 3: most of the slate were white male candidates. My personal opinion about the vote is i think NDP really benefits the young as they help schools with education and those with low paying salaries have a higher chance of succeeding. All 3 teams had fairly secure saying but most of it fell apart because of the few things people criticized at the liberals for the reason they were teaming with the Greens to beat the NDP.
hello
im terrible at writing and terrible at thinking 😀
1. The NDP won with the majority of votes. They got a lot of votes because of many problems that families wanted resolved.
2. The NDP got 45.1% in the votes. The BCLiberals got 35.3% in the votes and last but not least the BCGreens, they got 15.3% of the votes!
3. The NDP won a majority in the government in 2017 when they got a very close call.
4. There were 87 ridings available that the candidates were trying to get.
5. Raj Chouhan got 6,861 votes and got 61.2% out of the Burnaby-Edmonds riding.
6 There were about 52.4 voters that actually voted. There was a total of 40,347 registered voters.I think that it was enough because (this is in my opinion) most people are voting because they need a good leader to serve them during a pandemic.
7. #1 They ran with giving $1000 for people that have low income in their job.Ther ran with working with the aboriginals. They also said that
8. Wilkinson was criticized for failing to connect with voters and lack for leadership when scandals hit the party during the campaign
9. They were all criticized for what they were standing for, what they were going to do to help us people in B.C. with the pandemic going on.
10 I think that the liberals and the greens did a good job because of a few things that John Horgan said. First of all I think that John Horgan made a really stupid idea to make a snap election in the middle of a pandemic.like what Sonia Furstenau said “right now in this pandemic, we need a premier that cares about our people, not about politics” she also said
Fun Facts
-Did you know that there were about 470,000 people that voted by mail?
– Did you know that mail in ballots are counted 13 days after they have been received? This is because they need to make sure that no one double voted.
Note to Reader
Technically, we still don’t know the real final winner because the people that mailed it in. It takes 13 days until they count them. I answered them in what we have right now. The NDP is in the lead and some people in some ridings have already been elected but others still have not been. They will count the ballots that were mailed in around November 5.
The NDP’s won a majority of the government by 26 seats, the NDP won 14 more seats and the Liberals lost 14 seats. In total, the NDP won 55 seats, the Liberals won 29 seats and the greens won only 3 seats. The last time they won a majority was in 1996 with only 39 seats. The province of British Columbia has 87 ridings/ electoral districts. My riding is Burnaby Edmonds and Raj Chouhan was elected in my riding. He won 61.2% of the votes and 6,861 votes in total. 3.5 million people voted in total and over a million of them voted early. There were 3.5 million votes and the population of bc is 5 million, I think these are enough votes, of course, the more the better but considering that not everyone is not old enough to vote, this is a pretty high number. The 3 major policy re-announcements the NDP ran with were to expand 10$ child care, to implement a rent freeze until the end of next year, and to provide families whose yearly income is less than 125,000$ with 1000. The main 2 reasons why Andrew Wilkinson was criticized were because he lost 12 seats, which is a lot and because he was racist. The major issue that all parties were criticized for was that they all had several white male candidates. I was a bit surprised as to how many votes and sears NDP got, and even more surprised to see how many people voted early. Even with the school election, the NDP won. I was also shocked but not in a good way to find out that they let someone who was racist run in the election. I think that the NDP won fair and square and they deserve to lead again and they seem to have great plans for bc. As long as they actually go through with them. The party that i’m least happy with is the liberals, they lost many seats and there leader had some questionable leadership skills. I’m all right with the greens because they elected their leader a week before the election, meaning they didn’t have much time to prepare. Of course that doesn’t mean they’re good but rather off the hook for now. These are my thoughts on the election.
He made his election night speech at 10:45 pm and the final count won’t be finished until 500,000 mail in ballots are counted in November.the majority that he would do is keep where focus to where it belongs on helping people through this pandemic and making sure what they need and all british columbians can sleep safely knowing that were going to do everything we can to make sure they safe healthy and secure building child care all across the british columbia so that families can fully participate in the economy to make their live stronger. Andrew Wilkinson is stepping down as leader of the B.C. Liberals after the party lost a projected 12 seats in Saturday’s election — including some in traditional Liberal strongholds.“Leading the B.C. Liberals has been a great honour, but now it’s time for me to make room for someone else to take over this role,” Wilkinson said in a brief statement Monday afternoon. He did not take questions from the media.
My opinion, reaction and thoughts is i think we need to have girls and boys voting so that the voter place is not crowded because some people find it hard to go there like citizens. How can they go there when there are so many people? My reaction is how do they go there because sometimes maybe they check id and how do they count it’s hard for people to count votes like NDP. It takes 1 to 3 months to count all the ballots.
Hello, sorry for the late post on this i thought that it posted but it did not.
A couple days ago the NDP party won the election some are happy some are sad but that is beside the point. The NPD won with a strong put together majority government and they won fair and square. Not only did the NDP win the election but they also win 55 seats, following the NDP party the Liberals won 29, while the Green party won 3 seats. The vary last time that the NDP party won with a majority Government was 20 years ago that is crazy! And the number of ridings is 87 and the NDPs took 55 of them crazy right? Janet Routledge Ris my riding and NDP is the official name of the burnaby ridding. The final number of votes that she received is 7410. Because of COVID 19 the voting was different in many ways. But still their a million puls voted. But the leftover 2.5 million thought it was best to not vote or just did not. I believe that the number is fine the way it is because i know a quite a lot of people that do not believe in voting and I do not think that making people vote is not a great idea. The three really strong re-announcements that the NDPs made is called the $10-a-day child care, that “implementing a rent freeze until the end of next year.” this is a fantastic idea because it will help so many families in poverty or families that are struggling in this really hard time and NDP party has a really good look on the world. But more then one promise was made you will also get a $1,000 that the families can use to recover from the problems that COVID 19 could effect you and your families this is why I am really happy that NDPs won.
I think that is quite a lot about NDPs but what else is happening in the political part of the world? Well a Andrew Wilkinson has been ‘criticised’ was because of the more then one sexist comment that he made on Jane Thornthwaite. And I think we both can see why everyone would be criticised right? Well their is more, he and i quote “failing to oust the divisive Chilliwack-Kent candidate Laurie Throness — who compared free contraception to eugenics.” Moving on from that, all three parties were also put under some fire, well Horgan was told that he was being “selfish” because he betrayed a “supply agreement” and the other to parties got in a little trouble for that.
Now I would like to share some of my feelings about the results of the election. I can say that I am pretty happy with the fact that NDps won because I like the way they think. I believe that COVID 19 did kind of affect the amount of people that voted. But it was still a fare vote. I don’t think that John should be getting the backlash that he is getting from the other parties. I guess I will see you later . (:
Socials blog
In this blog, I will be telling you all about the 2020 BC Election.
It’s NDP’s first majority since 1996.
NDP got 55, Liberals got 29 and Green got 3.
1996
3.
Raj Chouhan, NDP and the winning politician got 55.
87, 3.5 million registered voters and yes there should have been more voters because 87 is not enough.
They said, 1.“There are many, many hundreds of thousands votes yet to be counted (but)… One thing we know for certain is Monday, I’ll be going back to work.”, 2.“This has been an extraordinarily difficult election for many, many reasons, but it’s one that I believe had to happen and I’m grateful for all British Columbians that we can put the election behind us and we can get back to focusing on the things that matter. 3. “We’ll have more to say going forward but for now we all have a responsibility to be patient, to respect the democratic process and to await the final results”.
That he can do more for the Liberals and that he wasn’t doing enough.
They were criticized for failing to focus on the opioid crisis Indigenous relations as key election issues. They were also criticized for a largely white and male slate of candidates.
Here are my opinions. I honestly think NDP is the best party because they choose the absolute best candidate. The worst candidate is the Liberals. They choose a bad candidate for that party. I voted for NDP because they got the best candidate. Anyway, that’s my opinion on the election but that’s it for now bye sis.
Love, Yasmine.
In the British Columbia election this year, the NDP’s won a majority government. The NDP’s took 55 rides of B.C.’s total rides, while the Liberals got 29 rides, and the Green Party got 3 rides. To constitute a decisive victory in any B.C. election, would just take 50 seats. (You would only need 44 seats to form government.)
The year which the NDP’s last won a majority was back in year 1996. The NDP’s also broke the previous record with having 55 seats, while the previous party record had 51 seats in 1991.
The amount B.C.’s total rides is 87 this year.
The people that were elected in my riding were Tripat Atwal, Raj Chouhan, and Iqbal Parekh. My riding has always been Burnaby Edmonds. In my riding, Raj Chouhan was elected as the winning politician. He received 6,861 votes in the total of 11,203 votes. (He got 61.2% of the votes.)
There were 1.2 million citizens that turned out to vote for the election. There were 3.5 million people that registered though. So I honestly think that there could’ve been at least around 3 million that voted.
The NDP promised : 1. To invest in health care, improve care for seniors.
2. To provide each family $1,000 for families with annual household incomes under $125,000.
3. More jobs by building more hospitals, schools, and public transit.
4. To expand $10-a-day child care.
5. To implement a rent freeze until the end of next year.
Andrew Wilkinsion was criticized for what a lot of people saw as a lackluster. He responded to sexist comments from candidate Jane Thornthwaite toward NDP candidate Bowinn Ma. He was also criticized for the poor performance that he had lost so many seats. He had really bad leadership as well.
All three parties were criticized because: 1. They were failing to focus on the opioid crisis.
2. They also were failing to focus on Indigenous relations as key election issues.
3. As well as being criticized for a largely white and male slate of candidates.
One of my reactions to this election was that I actually didn’t really expect NDP to beat the Liberals! I also personally think that Andrew Wilkinsion didn’t really do the best he could do. Another reaction that I had was when I saw that the Green Party only had gotten 3 seats. Though, I’m not really surprised since I never liked them before. Anyway, although there wasn’t Conservative in this election, I hope that NDP won’t let us down, and I hope they do a good job at running our Province.
NDP’s won in the minority government votings because there is 87 provincial electoral districts that votes the minority government, NDP’s got 55 votes from provincial electoral districts, so they won in the in minority government voting. NDP’s won 55 seats, Liberal Partys won 29 seats and Green Partys won 3 seats. NDP’s last won in 2017 at the minority government votings. There is 3 ridings in the Burnaby-Edmonds (BC Liberal, BC NDP and BC Greens). Raj Chouhan (NDP) got elected in Burnaby-Edmonds. Burnaby-Edmonds is the Ridings where Raj Chouhan is. NDP receive 55 seats out off 87 seats. There was mail-in ballots for voting more than 500,000 mail for voting. There is more than 500,000 registered voters. I think this number is enough for voting the minority government. The 3 major policy re-announcement that the NDP’s ran with free transit for kids. Andrew Wilkinson was criticized for not being able to interact and communicate. They were all criticized by not talking about the discrimination and the problems of the aboriginal people. I am surprised John Horgan got the most vote, of course his speech was good, but that doesn’t mean he will be a good leader others speech was good too, but the vote has past, so it wound’t change if I write this, so I will just wish John Horgan will be a good leader. I was surprised Green Party only got 3 seats because I thought Green Party is good Partys because they safes nature.
