Welcome Back!

Helloooooo Division, 5!

First of all, I hope that you guys are all doing as well as can be with what is currently happening. Second, I am sad that I am not able to see you all back in class. I mean, I have a lottttttt of questions / comments, primarily:

-Who are Labib and Salina going to roar at now? And how am I going to fake lecture Labib without his nervous laugh? How can I copy Salina’s accent now?

-Who are Vincent and Marko going to fine? They won’t be able to walk up to the board, pens ready, writing fine slips!

-How are Maya, Noorai and Albert (part-time Lorenzo, sorry Lorenzo, lol) going to do the classroom clean-up now? Well, Lorenzo seems to have no problem finding bubbles…in a bathtub! Plus, Albert was negotiating hard for a third job!

-Alan, Lucas and Leo won’t be able to finish their work before I have barely finished explaining it! I also won’t be able to say, ‘good try, keep adding more’ and hear them say, ‘ohhhh mannnnnnn.’ I’m even wondering if Lucas has his 9,000 packs of seaweed at school still!

-Lyn, who is going to make my tea!!!! Come on, this is some serious Fresh Noob stuff. Wait, it’s fake noob, right?

-Easter is coming up, and my Décor Crew would have been nicely pressuring me with their adorably, pretty smiles, asking if they could stay in and decorate at lunch, especially Marina, Zoe, Ella, Athena, Sally, Tiana and Althea. And let’s not forget the Oompa Loompas!

-Who is going to show me those crazy Youtube videos if I don’t have Landon, Josh, Tyson and Noah? Let us not forget Landon’s, Fridge video or Tyson and Noah saying, ‘shhhh, this is library’ even though most of the time, we were never in the library! I can never look at a Big-Mac the same way, courtesy of Josh!

-Jeremy, the dimples man!!! That hat too, but the dimples!

– Without Kelvin, nobody is going to say ‘okay’ to every question I have. For example, Kelvin, how are you doing today? Kelvin nods his head and says, ‘okay,’ while frowning and moving backwards.

-I won’t be able to cue Mohamed saying, ‘People these days!’

-Zhaoyu won’t be able to stare at my eyebrows!

-Teran, AKA Chewie, won’t be able to give me his nervous smile while trying to verbally defeat me. Yes Teran, Star Wars is terrrrrrrrrrrrrr…. I’ll let you fill that in! Was I going to say terrible or terrific? Oooo, the suspense!

-I can’t hear Kadin’s notoriously fantastic manners and appreciation! Who is going to say thank you and appreciate all of my millions of good deeds! Like seriously, Kadin never missed an opportuinity!

-Or, Gordon, purposefully terrorising me… but, I guess you all somehow terrorise me!

Anyways with all that said, I want you to know that we are still Division 5… the crazy class, with a fantastic, amazing, wonderful, funny, smart, caring, considerate, reliable, awesome teacher. I just mentioned a few of my traits, but of course I have many more… as you know! Don’t roll your eyes Ella, Tiana and Marina. Salina, don’t say anything. Lyn, no Lyn, just no! I know Noah, Tyson and Landon would be about to say something now too. Don’t smile Althea, or give me that funny face! Vincent, please take a seat. I know somehow, you would be standing up by now, screaming! We have had a lot of fun experiences throughout the year and will continue to do so 😊! Who knows, more pictures of Lorenzo may begin to surface?

Without further adieu, I would like for our first post to be something about you and your Spring Break. In about 20 sentences or so, please tell us:

  1. How are you? How are you feeling?
  2. How was Spring Break? Even though you were indoors for most of it, what did you get up to?
  3. Any highlights or things that you would like to share with the class.

I would like for you to read your peers comments and be sure to respond back to them!

I’m leaving you with some pictures of you! Talk to you soon,

-Ms. Panesar 🙂

i think i feel fine all is well i hope that you are all safe i look forward to being back in class. i didn’t really have a high light because my spring break was boring we literally stayed inside the house the whole time. There were family reunions during the break, but i didn’t like them because they took to long to finish. They went up to like about 9:00. i forgot to say thank you kadin for helping me up on the battle pass i really apreiciate it .

My spring break was quite different compared to other spring breaks; I was home for maybe 99% of the time. I was kind of happy because I was getting a little tired go outside all the time to do activities but after the first week, I felt like I needed to go outside and get some fresh air. My spring break staying inside was kind of sad because I spent half the day doing my studies and then played on my computer and talked to friends. I also have family time afterward and played cards with my family. After a week of that same schedule I couldn’t handle it anymore, all the writing, grade 9 math work, studying about multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease just got my mind blown up. The only good thing that probably surfaced from this spring break was the food my mom made. She literally couldn’t go a day without cooking something special and here are just some of the stuff she cooked: Fried Chicken, Beef burgers, Thai soup, Fried rice, Fish Pakora, Vegetable Pakora and much more. When I was watching the news, the people made it sound like there was a zombie apocalypse outside but when you look outside you see a bright sky and several people walking which makes me feel like either humans are very bad at listening or the news is lying but I think it is pretty clear who is right. The only thing I would look forward to is beating my sister in cards and seeing her start screaming because it’s probably the highlight of every single day. I also was able to make great progress and finished reading The Quran (Islamic religious book) which is in Arabic, a language I do not understand. I started reading it ever since grade 2! I am quite happy that school is going online because I am used to using online resources like Khan academy which I was using over spring break. I have a few feelings which will probably be quite like everyone else’s like boredom which I would probably explain most of my spring break. Another feeling I have is sad because my best friend’s sister’s husband’s dad (I always wanted to write something repetitive like that) contracted the Coronavirus more officially known as COVID-19 and after a day of contracting he unfortunately died and for the first time during this crisis, I started to worry. Spring Break was also included lots of shopping trips for my parents including a big one that I had to help with carrying the groceries and we have enough food to last for 3 weeks-4 weeks. Another highlight I had was playing Monopoly with my sister and this Monopoly allowed you to cheat and when I stole some of my sister’s properties, she just couldn’t handle it anymore and started raging so much she came up to me and slapped my hand like it was a snake and screamed. I did learn a lot about the two nervous system diseases, but It wasn’t something relatable to other people’s spring break. I was having lots of fun talking with my friends while playing games because I haven’t talked to them in a long time and being able to connect to them after such a long time was very fun. Another thing that was a highlight for this spring break was when I and my family watch some movies because I barely watch movies and with all this time at home I was able to get a few movies watched that I wanted to watch ever since they came out. In conclusion, I found spring break quite boring but was able to make the most of staying inside all the time while the outside had all it risks and although sitting inside was boring, I did learn valuable info and was able to spend lots of time with my family, I had to fight through this virus by staying inside and finding ways to pass time while technically self-isolating and I think I was able to do it because I found a lot of ways to do it like playing cards and watching movies.

Hi Labib! Oh yes, your Mum and I have been doing the same thing. I, too, have been cooking lots of yummy food. Fish pakoras, mmmm, haven’t had them in awhile. The fried chicken sounds delicious too! You’re quite right, it is very apocalyptic, but it is true, the nice sunny weather is certainly helping keep our spirits high. You finished reading the Quran! That’s awesome, what were some of your thoughts? I have read many passages from it too. Also, I am very sorry to hear about your friend’s, brother-in-law’s, Dad. Do they live here or? Oh gosh, that is really funny to hear about your sister. Tell us the truth, did you laugh when she started raging. Your poor sister, she’s too cute! Also, which movies did you get to watch?

      • labib1 says:

My friend’s brother-in-law lives in new york at the situation there is really bad. When my sister rages I don’t laugh she just comes up to me and slaps me. Most of the movies were Hindi because my parents don’t really watch English movies but I did watch a few English movies like Hancock, Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp. I also watched a really sad movie called Pihu and my sister couldn’t handle the first part and left! My thoughts on finishing the Quran were really joyful and I felt like I finished something quite important and mom was going to hold a religious gathering when I finished but because of what was going on around the world and the restrictions we have to do it later.

        • labib1 says:

I also have a movie suggestion that my family watched that is related to the virus called Contagion and it is weird to see how much stuff is similar. It is so exact it seems like they knew it would happen. If you haven’t seen it then you should watch it when you can.

        • Ms. Panesar says:

Oh no,yes, New York is in a really bad state right now. Again, I’m sorry to hear that, Labib, that was probably really hard to hear :(. Which Hindi films, I wonder if I know any of them! What do you do when she rages? I can imagine you nervously laughing, ha!

          • Ms. Panesar says:

Hmmm.. I don’t think I have heard of any but The Sky is Pink, it has Priyanka Chopra in it. I used to like her but recently she annoys me, ha! I feel like she changed after starring in Quantico. Did you like it? Which was your favourite?

          • labib1 says:

I don’t really understand Hindi so I read the subtitles and follow along with my parents so yeah I didn’t really like any of the Hindi movies that much but I did like all of the English ones.

I”m feeling happy! But still sad that the Covid-19 pandemic is still going on. The house is pretty quiet… it gets boring sometimes so i don”t feel as happy as before. bu still happy is quiet. Every night i watch a movie in my living room with my father. my only highlight was a… pretty boring. work for some bit, play for a tiny bit. it repeats until i watch a movie with my mom and dad. you guys should know that i play Pokemon go, and it has released a to of updates since some country shut down because of the coronavirus. they make updates on playing Pokemon go in your house. i usually don”t play Pokemon go as often, now because of the updates, i get.. “un”-bored. so I”m really sorta bored. that”s all i have new for my highlight. oh, and something else i forgot to mention, how do we do art at home if we don’t have the supplies? (i don’t have any kind of colours except a fresh pack of markers…) i have a final word to say; good-bye. 👋_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_👍

  4. marina1 says:

During this spring break I have had lots of fun – being with my family, baking, cooking, making crafts, etc. Now that spring break is over, I am still very happy and I am feeling great. Although I didn’t go outside very often, does not mean that I didn’t have fun during the break. When spring break started, my family and I spent lots time together because everyone was free. Even though this routine was different than what we were used to, we all still had an amazing time. My family and I spent time playing different board games, watching different movies together, cooking and much more. Throughout the day, my sister and I spent lots of time making different decorations for our bedroom and making crafts in general. I would also spend a lot of time on the balcony to get some fresh air and be in the sun since I couldn’t go outside very often. Sometimes, I would facetime and text my friends since I was not able to see them over the break. I spent time watching television shows with my siblings and we would bake different snacks and desserts for our family. During the beginning of the break, my family and I went to the beach a few times to spend as much time in the sun, by the ocean and in the fresh air. We would also go on walks outside to get fresh air throughout the break. Although I couldn’t go outside, I had many highlights during this spring break. Some of them, were almost every night when my family and I would stay up playing different card games, board games and enjoying our time together. I really enjoyed watching movies together with my family as well. Another thing I had lots of fun doing, was playing guitar and singing with my sister. I also enjoyed when my sibling and I would stay up late together eating snacks and learning new games as well. I would still stay in contact with others, like my friends and grandparents and made the best out of the whole situation! How was your spring break? Did you enjoy your break even though you could not go outside very often?

    • Ms. Panesar says:

Hi Marina! I am happy to hear that you are keeping busy and having lots of fun! What were you baking? Which board games did you play? I played Taboo recently and really liked it. Have you heard of it? What type of decor have you been making for your bedroom? I love how artsy you are! Has your sister been agreeing with your recommendations for your room. Also, when you’re done, I’ll let you decorate my room too, ha!! What do you think?

  5. lyn2 says:

When I get the chance, back at school I will hug you and never let go! I will give you so many compliments, which will all be true! I just know how to make you feel better Ms Panesar. ⊂◉‿◉つ

  6. lyn2 says:

During this endless break I have been feeling okay, I mean it is good to spend extra (I mean extra EXTRA) time with my family. But I feel like the longer the break is the more we want to go back to school and somehow I am not getting that feeling, but I can get the feeling of screaming and attacking Ms.Panesar lol. We are not really getting that vitamin D from the sun since we are not outside. (I mean come on do you really want to risk it?) Well good thing you can take walks just make sure you are not in a big public place. Yes, they have closed the playgrounds they even have tape all around it to make sure no human gets on the playground. I guess it’s a law. Police officers get those fine tickets!! With this long break we can be sure they really want us to stay inside. I mean since most of us are dancers why not do just dance indoors. If you don’t have the game just watch it off from YouTube? Just dance is a good exercise because its dancing a way to be active and get those body parts moving!! During my spring break I stayed inside. (Well obvious.) And my family and I played a lot of board games and not spending all our time playing video games. Well… we did family video game nights. Honestly from now I won all of them. It’s because they are all BIG noobs!! Anyways while we were here, they said it was safe to take walks so when I had time why not take a lap around the track? But I did like the weather or what my mom likes to call it “the on and off weather.” If you don’t get it like the sun is on and the clouds are off. That kind of seems like a weird way to describe that type of weather but I think that sort of makes sense??? My highlight was making new things well like baking and cooking sort of stuff. During the break I made some Korean donuts. (Tip: If you are going to make these, to make sure there is enough sugar bite into to it and if sugar gets on your lips that’s the average amount of sugar you need to put on. That’s a lot of sugar.) We also made brownies, and like homemade fries! I mean they taste better then fast food since its oven baked. It was good I recommend you it. I don’t know but is homemade fries healthier than Fastfood/take out? Well this is the end! Stay safe and wash your hands, DON’T TOUCH YOUR FACE!!!

    • Ms. Panesar says:

Oh Lyn, you never fail to make me laugh! What you mean is that you miss me… just admit it! And you’re right, we aren’t getting the Vitamin D from the sun as much as we should but it’s better to stay safe and healthy. Sadly some people are not taking this seriously which is why the police officers have been giving warnings to people as well. OMG, Lyn, you dance too? Oh gosh, I’m trying to imagine that! Too funny! What was the name of the Korean doughnuts? They sound yummy, was it like a sugar doughnut? Yes, anything baked as opposed to deep fried is much less fattening,so it’s good that you were able to bake them. How are your nails, growing them long?

Hi guy’s I am feeling normal/bored my spring break wasn’t that good, it was boring because I stayed inside of my house the whole time. My sisters brought down the whole break and the only thing that can save me from that is playing fortnight with Teran, kelvin, Kadin, not Tyson because he never joins my party but yeah. I have to say thank you to Kadin for helping me level up on the battle pass and not being rude and bombing me of the bridge at gorgeous gorge.

My highlight of the break probably was when my uncles and aunts were taking bout the corona virus, it always makes me laugh. We were there so they can discus to make a hospital in a place called abri in Sudan, but they only talk about the virus. I played with my older cousins, we played video games and watched funny videos. After all that happened it just got boring again, I enjoyed sleeping in and playing video games double time, but it got boring after a while.

Today we are going to play a prank on my dad because it is April first so that is that. Oh yeah Teran, if you’re out there I’m just going to say thank you for letting me rage quit creative. Also josh so sad that you left early on the last day I was going to give you a friend request on fortnight but too late. Anyway, that is the story of my spring break.

    Thank you!

    • Ms. Panesar says:

Wait! What do you mean your sisters brought down the house? What did Naomi do? Oh gosh, so you guys are my new Fortnite crew, eh! Are you guys progressing quickly through the game? Should I dare and ask how often you play Fortnite! Let us know how the prank goes! I would love to have been there to watch your Dad jump! It’s only up till 12 though!

    Spring Break EXTENDED!!!
Over the spring break, I did the usual routine I would do on weekends: Wake up, eat, play piano, eat, play piano, eat, do homework, eat, and sleep. I never felt bored, even as a only child because I spent hours on Discord where LilyGamez, Supreme, Sammie, jasmine, and a bunch of others you don’t know keep spamming me. I did go outside for hours, which resulted with my mom spraying me down with alcohol. I actually enjoyed staying home, although I did sneak to the balcony to get some fresh air, because I could sleep more without my mom bugging me to wake up early to go to classes. I spent these weeks sitting at the piano, practicing and practicing, and every Monday I would have an online piano class. Now that I’ve finally finished the 2nd and 3rd movements of Pathétique Sonata (By Beethoven), my piano teacher wants me to memorize the 2nd movement and perform it (online) in a recital with a bunch of other peeps. And now I have to memorize a thick book of theory for my exam that might be canceled… but I’m told to still practice. I barely had any time to do what I actually wanted to do, but I did play a bit of Flicker from Roblox, get scammed at the black market in Discord… (it was fake money so that’s better) I also went on Hangouts a lot, getting spammed by Noorai, Salina, Lyn, and some other peeps, so I wasn’t too lonely, although sitting by the window seeing a lot of people walk around like the coronavirus was a prank (although Sophie Trudeau did get it) did make me grumpy, ‘cuz it seems like they don’t care.
Reasons why I hate the coronavirus:
    1. I’m quarantined and my mom isn’t
    2. I have to get sprayed with alcohol by my mom if I leave the house
    3. I have to practice more piano
    4. A lot of people don’t care, and now the coronavirus has decided to leave China and enter Canada -.-
    5. There is now less coronavirus in China than Canada… WHY?!
I did use many educational resources, like Khan Academy, EverFi, and IXL, and let me tell you, the logic in 2+2=3 is not right… CHECK YOUR FACTS IXL!!!
I have to thank Ms. Panesar for assigning us homework online, because then I can add this in my blog post: OOF NOOB MS PANNY!!!
The highlights of my extended spring break is going on Discord and having online classes so I don’t have to leave the house. Getting quarantined ain’t so bad after all for me…
    PS NOOB SQUAD:
    Lyn: BIG NOOB!!!
    Ms. P: FRESH NOOB!!!
    Zoe (me): OOF NOOB!!!
    Marina: small noob!!!

    • Ms. Panesar says:

Hi Pan-Pan Jr. how are you ! Wow, you have been busy practising piano, eh! I am sure that your practice is paying off and you’re becoming excellent, not that you weren’t already ! Why are those people spamming you? Where is your Mum going, she is off from work, isn’t she? I am sorry to hear that you are getting bathed in sanitiser, I guess your Mum is not taking any chances, which could be a good thing! How are the online piano classes? Do you prefer the ones in-person more, or? If you do memorise it and record it, make sure you send it to me! I would love to watch it! That is so exciting, you are so talented! I am sure those crazy girls were spamming you – but I guess it’s better than having them maul you in person! They can be slightly scary, but shhhh, don’t tell them that I said that… I too am scared of my safety! And you’re right about the Coronavirus – Italy passed China now and I think some other countries, like our neighbours in the States! That last Noob part made me laugh- I could picture everyone’s voices. Marina says small noob?

      • zoe24 says:

Hi again Ms.P, those peeps were spamming me because its a group chat XD mainly trolling each other… and ok, I’ll send a memorized version of the 2nd movement of the Pathétique Sonata. The online piano classes is just like the ones in-person, except online, lol.

Yes, in Term 2 i told Marina about the noob squad, and i asked her what she would do if she could say one. After i said Lyn’s, she wanted to be small noob XD

    my blog post.

This has been horrible. My parents will not even let go to this park in front of my house. THIS JUST RIDICUOLOUS. This coronavirus is really ruining my life. At least it got me out of school. I am rotting away in my house with my siblings, which is kind of harsh. My dad lets me play video games. Thankfully he hasn’t changed his mind yet. My mom is getting very stressed out which stresses me out and belive me, I am not very happy when I am stressed. I think I might be going crazy. Oh no, my nightmares are becoming true. I’m becoming as crazy as Vincent. And lets be honest, nobody wants that. Anyway, my dad felt bad for me and my siblings so he bought a trampoline. They are really hard to set up. I still have a scratch on my hand. My spring break was horrible but at least I am not sick. My cousin though, well he lives in theUSA so he has to like wear a suit if he even has contact with the fresh air. Well it sucks to be him. Back to business, my life has been horible and life sucks right now.
    My main point
    SOS i am rotting away!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Ms. Panesar says:

Hi Mohamed, how are you? I heard your voice in my mind while reading your blog post. I imagined that when you got to the ‘this is just ridiculous’ part, that you would have been standing up in your desk. LOL rotting away with your siblings… have they been harassing you? Oh no, one Vincent is more than enough, please do not become him. That is so nice of your Dad- have you been using the trampoline everyday? I always wanted one when I was a child! You’re right though, you have to be careful as you can get hurt. Why does your cousin have to wear the suit? Where does he live? Have you been watching any shows? Playing with your friends?

  10. teran2 says:

Personally, this spring break wasn’t all that great for me. This was mainly because of the coronavirus pandemic. I felt bored. I missed my friends. I also felt anxious and a bit scared.

I was bored because I was mainly stuck inside my house. This was because of the social distancing and isolation guidelines we all have to follow. I spent my time watching Netflix and Youtube. I spent time doing soccer workouts with my dad and my sister. I also had to read because my parents made me.

I missed my friends because it wasn’t a good idea to play outside. This was also because of the covid 19 pandemic scare. It is best to avoid as many people and germs as possible.

I feel scared and anxious because covid 19 is responsible for killing lots of people. It is affecting everyone everywhere. Sometimes I have a hard time sleeping. I just want it to go away and everyone be safe again.

The highlights were that I strengthened my lungs by doing exercises. I got to watch 4 seasons of “The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air”. I really like Will Smith. I was able to stay in contact with my friends through my video games. I learned about Greek mythology and the Mayan civilization through my at home readings which my parents gave me. Most importantly, we got to spend time together as a family.

    • Ms. Panesar says:

Hi Teran, how are you Mr. Chewy? Be honest, you miss your friends and your teacher too, right? I can understand how you might be feeling some anxiety and nerves. It is a bizarre time right now, but remember, as long as you are staying inside, maintaining distance and washing your hands, you will be fine. Obviously, we can’t be out and about eating random things off the floors anymore… I’m trying to think who did that in our class! How did soccer go? Who is better- your sister or you? What shows on Netflix have you been watching? Ah Fresh Prince, you are reminding me of when I was a young child. My friends and I would watch Fresh Prince everyday. Any Greek Gods/Goddesses that you like?

  11. tiana3 says:

    Hi Ms. Panesar
My parents and I want to thank you for the email! How are you doing????
Anyways, I’m doing fine, I don’t know, mostly bored though. By the way, Ms. Panesar, on the blog post, I was rolling my eyes on cue when you wrote that Ella, Marina and I would probably be doing that, so . . . yeah. I sure was , and I was laughing too. It’s sad how I don’t get to see my friends, Ms. Panesar and I must admit the class as well. I wish I could just go back to school but unfortunately, Covid-19 is holding our daily routines back, except for those who play video games because it’s a thing you can still do, so at least we still have video games to keep us busy. HAPPY APRIL FOOLSDAY to all of you too! Did anyone pull off pranks today? I did!
First, when I got up this morning, I put a fake spider in my dad’s bathroom, and I left it hanging. Then when he walked in, he saw it and was like half scared, half confused. Next, I held a fake snake, and hid under chairs, and when I waited for the right opportunity, my dad passed by, and I came out, holding the snake. It was ridiculous of how he looked like . Finally, I took my brother’s beats(headphones), which he loves (just saying and also flexes about), and I was surprised how he didn’t notice them gone, so he came to my room and I was holding them, so I was just like, UH-Oh. That failed so I was sad.
Spring Break was okay, but I wished I could go outside more often, which I was upset about. Mostly, I just played video games, watched YouTube videos, sewed, completed the Cursive writing booklet (the two days of the beginning of spring break), and read but I actually have to say that I couldn’t wait for school to start again because being at home was quite boring. Honestly, I was still glad to escape homework, but I only wanted to see others at school. I still must do this booklet, that my parents bought, so I can study, in case school is delayed. I also went for short walks, and I still am, but less than usual, and not daily, also, staying a couple meters away from others. It just feels awkward how people are avoiding you on purpose, but it is the law, so I am just going to deal with it anyways. I didn’t have a real highlight of spring break, but I guess that I got to say that spending time with my family was my highlight if that counts. My whole family and I are all healthy for now and I hope that everyone else is fine too. It’s kind of depressing how we can’t go to certain places and do whatever we want such as outside of school activities or just going to school at a daily basis. I’m grateful that I am fine, but I hope that all of you re fine as well. I was supposed to be having my “spring season soccer training and games” but they are all postponed. I am so disappointed about that and I am sad that my piano lessons are cancelled too. I just want to go back to my daily basis, and staying home is not a thing that I enjoy. I just want to go outside, play soccer, go back to my piano lessons, and go back to school. I have to say, that I don’t like Covid-19, but I guess that now, the world is at this time of the crisis, where it wasn’t how we’d expect it to be, so as people say, we need to ‘stay calm, and defeat it together.’ Oh, I just noticed that when I was listing what I did for spring break, I forgot to mention a few things that I also did. So, I had to clean the house, and, got to watch some T.V. When my brother, was cleaning his room, put a few things in MY room, (because of reasons) and when I walked into my room, my leg hit the thing. I was okay though. I also watched T.V and all, but I practically, was watching the news more often for updates of the coronavirus. I am going to miss many things like school, and other activities, and I hope for the best that I can see everyone soon. Hope that all of you have a good Easter as well!
To conclude, I hope that Covid-19 will eventually end, and I hope to see everyone else soon.
    -Tiana

    • Ms. Panesar says:

Hi Tiana – aww, thank you for asking how I am doing. I certainly miss you guys and being back at school! I just knew you guys would be rolling your eyes, trying to sass me, then mentioning the Oompa Loompas and stealing my long nail design! I am so happy that you tried to prank your Dad! Did you tell him after that you had planned it all? I also love how you subtly mentioned your brother and him flexing about his Beats, made me laugh! When you got busted, did you pull out an Ella-style tear? Man, I will never forget when she did that, ha! Oh no, I’m sorry to hear about your soccer camp, especially since you’re such a great player! I agree totally, Tiana. I am hoping that this virus will end quickly and that we can go back to our normal days. Who would have ever guessed that we could miss some of our crazy classmates!

To be honest, my Spring Break wasn’t very exciting and was a bit boring. To begin with, my trip to Palm Springs, California was canceled. When I heard the news, I was so disappointed, and I still am. I had been looking forward to the trip for at least 6 months. To add on, my tennis was also canceled, along with my drum lessons (which I now have to attend online). The first week of Spring Break began normally (mostly), aside from the fact that my parents (along with the other parents) weren’t allowed to come watch us train and the tennis coaches were constantly giving us hand sanitizer. But that weekend even those lessons got canceled. We did however, go to Central Park (Swangard Stadium) with a few of the tennis coaches and a few other attendants of Langley Events Center. We jogged (and occasionally sprinted) through the forest. We sometimes stopped and did some push-ups and sit ups and a couple of other activities. We also did an exercise called (something like) the Russian Sprint. This exercise was: everyone jogged in a straight line, and when someone clapped (in my case the coach) the person at the back would sprint as fast as they could to the front, and we would repeat that over and over again. Afterwards, my friend that came to the fitness training and I went to play tennis at the Central Park tennis courts. Eventually her dad’s friend came, but there were no more courts available, so her dad let his friend join us. My friend and I played doubles against her dad and his friend, and after a full three hours of nonstop playing, we ended up losing 7-5 in the tiebreaker, but it wasn’t really our fault…? We were extremely exhausted after, but it was definitely the highlight of the Spring Break (and next time it’s REMATCH). The second week of Spring Break was pretty slow, I just bothered my sister (as usual) and played badminton with her to stay in shape when there weren’t that many people outside. Aside from badminton, I also played board games and UNO with my family. My favourite one was Ticket to Ride (Europe). The rules are slightly complicated, but once you get them, the game becomes very enticing. In the game, you need to travel from town to town, and some of the places I’ve even been to before, like Barcelona. I also read a few books, but the book that I liked best was Heidi, one that my mom got for me as she remembers it from her childhood. It’s about a little girl called Heidi, whose parents died. She was sent to live with her aunt Detie, but her aunt only agreed to care for her for a short period of time. Afterwards, Detie brought Heidi to live with her uncle, who at first glance seems frightening as he is very tall and has an unkempt beard, but as the story goes, we learn that he is actually a very quiet, polite old man. They end up living together in the Alps and the scenery is so beautifully expressed that this book has really inspired me to visit Austria one day, specifically the Alps. I would definitely recommend this book by Johanna Spyri to others. A few other books that I read are Mark of the Plague and the Blackthorn Key. Overall, this Spring Break wasn’t the best Spring Break I’ve ever had, but there were some ups to it.

    • Ms. Panesar says:

Hello Isabella – hehe, I wonder if that made you slightly growl! Oh gosh, yes, I was thinking about your trip. I figured you would have to cancel it which is super upsetting. Did your parents think of maybe the summer or winter break to re-schedule? I didn’t know you took drumming lessons! How long have you taken them for? Oh interesting, I have never heard of the Russian Sprint – it seems exciting though! Do you like doing them? Oh no!! You were so close to winning – and you’re right, you better win that re-match. Remember what we agreed on (I more or less forced you to agree on), you’re going to win and scream, That win was for Ms. Panesar, wooooo! I am happy to hear that you have been reading, and yes, Heidi is certainly a classic! Did you like it?

      • ella34 says:

We might re-schedule around the same time next year, and if we do decide to go next year, we will definitely have a better experience because we will be able to see some very famous tennis players. I have taken drumming lessons for about a year and a few months now, and I play electric drums (so I don’t bother the whole neighbourhood with my rock n’ rollin’). I do like doing the Russian Sprint because you only sprint as fast as you can occasionally, but it is quite tiring after you do it many times. I am quite sure that my friend and I will win the next time I play doubles against her dad and his friend, but I have a slight (or big) problem with screaming that win was for you, Ms. Panesar…! To answer your last question, I absolutely adored Heidi, and I am undoubtedly glad that I got the chance to read it, because it has a wonderful description of the Alps, and it makes the book very enticing. Heidi has absolutely inspired me to visit the Alps one day.

I am good I am felling bored because I must stay at home my spring break was going to places but me and my family stayed at home playing games like fortnite with Noah, Teran, kelvin, Tyson but Tyson is really salty with his other. friends and just playing like normal and my highlight were trickshoting Teran in fortnite and trolling people and throwing them off the map just for a fun time but I don’t like it when I throw them and they start to scream in to the mic (short for microphone) sorry my script is short Bye.

    • Ms. Panesar says:

Excusez-moi Monsieur Kadin, where too is the rest of your response! You and Albert!! Did you play some board games with your parents? Ah yes, I have heard all about your Fortnite crew and how you helped your friends, which is very kind of you! Who screams in the mic?? It can’t be Kelvin, I’m thinking Teran?

  14. althea2 says:

I’m feeling like I am going to explode because we cannot go anywhere! At least we could go around the block on our bikes, but that was a long time ago. We also went to bike around SFU and went up and down the mountain. I mastered the art of safely mountain biking down steep and rocky bits. My parents are extremely busy working so if we are lucky, we can go on a walk to somewhere.
My parents, my brother and I walked through Byrne Creek forest and played in the creek, even though it was cold. Somehow, my brother was convinced that there were salmon heading upstream or are laying eggs. This was because in his classroom he is making a “book” on the stages of the salmon life cycle. I tried to tell him that salmon only headed upstream in August and laid eggs when they got to their destination. Still, he wouldn’t listen because he said, “according to the life cycle, salmon should be heading upstream by now.” We also drove to Serpentine Wildlife Reserve. When we started walking around, we saw many different birds and ducks. We saw, Wood ducks, Mallards, Tree frogs, Golden eagles and bald eagles. We also saw many dogs. My brother got scared of them and hid behind my dad, clutching him.
I don’t really have highlights to share apart from watching many movies and going to art class. The art class is apparently the only class I have that is still in session. I like going there because it helps me get out more, so I’m not trapped inside our house on Saturdays.
In conclusion, I think my week was a disaster, because all the shops had almost sold out all the kitchen and toilet paper because people keep on buying them. Now there isn’t any left for people who need it, like us. I learned that we shouldn’t freak out on toilet paper and other goods because if there are no more left, others in need of toilet paper don’t have it.

    • Ms. Panesar says:

Hello Althea!! I am glad you were able to get out and about in the beginning. That is funny to hear about your brother- and yes, you are correct about that. Oh cool, had you been to Serpentine Wildlife Reserve before? Which was your favourite bird/duck? Don’t you love younger brothers? Mark my words, when he is older, he will coincidentally forget hiding behind your Dad, ha! What have you been up to in art class? I completely agree with you, Althea. Some people became far too stressed, so they panicked and then bought everything they could as they were anticipating an apocalypse. But you’re right – what about people who are older or with physical impairments? Times like this are only contained if we look after each other – selfish motives get us nowhere!

      • althea2 says:

My favourite was the birds–especially the bald eagle. The golden eagle was creepy because halfway back to the car, it started circling us like a creepy ca would circle a mouse!
        …..Poor mouse……. and us…….
My dad said he was going to raid his snack supply at his work…. but mostly coke. My mom said that some people are going to public places and raiding the toilet paper from the bathroom and shoving it into their car.
Who needs that much toilet paper anyway? It’s not like you are going to go through them at an abnormal speed! Oh! About my brother, he is……… strange… He loves dressing up in a way too small Kangaroo suit and also loves prancing about in it.
One last thing: how is this “Class Meeting” going to work and how long is it going to take?

When spring break started i was mostly playing video games. But after that I went to my friends house and played video games with them. Well after that I just played video games and went outside. I would just play games with people and I would go outside to play soccer or something. then I did the same thing over and over. Then after that spring break ended I still didn’t go to school so I was part happy. but it starts to get boring. So after that I just either stayed home and did homework and played games or I went outside and did soccer. I think that the coronavirus is very dumb because it is very boring to do nothing. But since I had nothing to do I made churros and my sister made donuts. I watched a video and made the churros. At first we made two then they were undercooked so we waited 3minutes for the others to cook . We put half of everything to make the batter because my mom said that it would be too much. And I think that half was good enough. Then after we ate them. They tasted good but not as good as the ones you buy at a store. I don’t know why but the store ones were crispier. Then I was bored so I just went to my Nintendo switch and played video games. I also played games on the computer. After that I just got bored and slept longer than usual. My spring break is very boring.

Hi, nice to once again be here writing another blog post. Well it turns out spring break wasn’t as good as I expected so far, a couple of months ago. Though I hate blog posts it is kind of good to be here writing after so long of staying home and doing nothing. I have missed everyone so I would like to share what I am doing during spring break!!! My spring break was boring so far except for the video games but yeah. I kind of want to go back to school but I also mostly don’t. I feel great mostly because of the no homework but, I miss being in class and talking to my friends. I also feel great because I get to sleep in every day. But sadly, my mom made a rule that I must wake up every day at 9:00. Also, I feel great even though my sister Bernice always hits, punches, slaps, and kicks me. I also feel scared because B.C. already has like 1000 people with COVID-19. I get bored during the day, so I mostly just play board games and do puzzles. Currently me and my sister are working on a 1000-piece puzzle. And when I am not making puzzles or playing board games, I am probably playing video games. My highlight is playing video games. I sometimes only get to play a bit but most of the time I play a lot. I play video games every day now so that is pretty much why it is the highlight of my spring break. I also have another highlight it is playing board games I play board games like Monopoly, and Payday. Also because of the pandemic Whistler ‘s mountains were closed so it turns out I didn’t go to Whistler. And at home I also help my mom a bit with the chores but, I especially hate doing that. Well thanks for reading what I wrote on spring break!!!

    • Ms. Panesar says:

Hi Lucas, how are you, how’s my lovely Bernice doing? I’m happy to know that she is terrorising you, hehe! You know, we nick-named her Berocious for a reason. When she was calm and gentle, we would call her Ber-nice but when she was wild it was Berocious or Berhungry or Berwild. Please don’t tell her I told you this about her, she might come and attack me next, ahhhh!! I do miss her too, but don’t tell her that either! I love how you started off with: I hate blog posts…but I’m happy to be back! What time were you sleeping in before your Mum changed the sleep-in rule? Which board games and puzzles have you been playing? How is the puzzle coming along? I was telling Ella that I was thinking about her trip, Vincents too but also yours as well. I thought you would have been able to go because I know they closed Whistler eventually. Had they closed it before you were guys were going or after? I’m sorry that it got cancelled, maybe your Mum can re-book it again soon? I am happy to hear that you have been doing chores- it is important to learn these life skills, but most importantly, you are making your Mum more happy than you know when helping her out. Very happy to hear that!!

This spring break was okay. I had fun, but not as much fun as I expected. My family was going to Hawaii, but my dad said we would have to quarantine for two weeks when we came back, and his work wouldn’t let him come, and his work would not be happy if he couldn’t work because of quarantine. I was raged at first, but now I am glad we didn’t go because Covid-19 had gotten much worse since the day we were supposed to leave.

So, instead of going to Hawaii, I played a lot of Minecraft with my brother and my dad. I am now playing a lot of ROBLOX with my cousin. It is getting boring being in isolation at home. All I can do is play video games and watch YouTube. Every day, my family goes out on a walk to get some fresh air, but the playgrounds are banned. I saw trash bags on the basketball hoops and caution tape on swings. I was planning to play basketball during the break but that is not going to happen anytime soon. We watch the news and I see stories of people that hog all of the supplies and food. The news showed video of like 100 people outside of a Costco waiting to get in, THAT WAS SO FRUSTERATING TO SEE! The news just keeps telling us about more deaths and crimes that take advantage of the crisis.

I will try my best to say some highlights of the break. I guess one of them was mining 11 diamonds in one mining trip in Minecraft. Another one was finding everyone in Hide and Seek Extreme in ROBLOX. And that is basically all my highlights because this was a very restricted spring break.

So to sum it up, spring break for me was playing video games and watching YouTube and occasionally go outside. It was boring and I hope Covid-19 blows over soon because life is screwed up with all these restrictions. So, I have overall had a so-so spring break.

    • Ms. Panesar says:

Hi Vincent, how are you doing? Have you been crazy and loud at home as you are at school or? Like I mentioned to some of our classmates, I was thinking about you guys and your holidays. I figured you wouldn’t be going and I can only imagine how angry you were… but, your Dad did make the right choice. You can always go to Hawaii, but this might (hopefully) be the only time in your life where you would have to go into quarantine after a trip. Have your parents thought of a time/date to reschedule it for? I’m not sure how many cases Hawaii has but that would be an interesting place to see their stats, given that Hawaii is primarily geared to tourists. Yes, the city of Burnaby has sealed up the hoops and playgrounds because people were still using them. I see why they would, the last thing you want to do is to keep spreading the virus but at the same time, it is hard to stay trapped indoors. Fresh air and being active reduces stress and also helps your immune system so I’m happy to hear that your family has been going for walks. Do you walk in any particular area, or just near your house? You were playing Minecraft and Roblox, you guys don’t play Fortnite? And speaking of playing, where are your other comrades, Marko and Lorenzo? And you’re right, Tiana also mentioned the same thing about people being super selfish and also panicking under pressure and hoarding things. There was a guy who was fined $1000 for selling masks… super ironic because he would have made $1000. He got busted in a sting operation. But if you google fines right now, so many people are getting fined for selling supplies. It just makes you wonder how people could think of making money at a time like this!

  19. leo40 says:

Hi peeps. And Ms. Panesar. I am NOT DOING WELL at home, but I am feeling good. (I accidentally put caps lock on. Toooooooootaly.) This is kind of off-task, but I know a lot of people say that if you just wash your hands and not touch your face (and not go outside), you’ll be okay and there’s a very low chance that you’ll get the virus. But just two weeks before spring break on Thursday, my mom had a pacific Dental conference at Vancouver center. There were about five thousand people there. My dad tried to convince her to stay home and not go or she might catch the virus, but she didn’t listen. And on Tuesday afternoon, the following week, I turned on the news and heard that four people there were tested positive for the virus at the conference. I should say something about the conference. It’s a two-day international meeting/ exhibit for the whole North American dental association. In the meetings they talk about the tech they have right now, future tech to aid the dentists, and stuff like that. The exhibit is like a gift shop with samples of masks. That night I cried in bed thinking that I might die. My mom came home later and started having headaches and an average body temperature of 37. 8. But thankfully spring break is over and she’s okay.

My spring break was pretty bad, considering 1) the coronavirus, and 2) my parents. The coronavirus affected me badly. I would normally go into my dad’s bedroom and look out the window. My house overlooks [classified] Ave, and there wasn’t even a single bird in sight. (DON’T STALK ME!!!). It’s boring because I can’t go outside. The parks are all closed and there’s nothing to do at home. Not including the piano and math stuff. And because this pandemic thing stopped us from going to school, my mom and dad have been taking advantage of that and making me do more work than ever each day!!! Now each day I must do 90 minutes of piano, I hour of math (hard math but Labib could probably do it. Let’s see. Labib, factor 6x squared -3x -8x +4. Hehehehe.) Anyway, 2) my parents. As I said, my parents are taking advantage of this pandemic right now and making me do tons of piano and math that I normally have to go to bed at around 11. I feel like this is a school day except that I am doing more work and I don’t get to do fun projects like in class. I miss the school. School is the only place I can have fun at and not do all this piano and math stuff. I didn’t really have any highlights during the break, so I guess I’ll just tell you that I got my first 10 kills in Fortnite (two are on the henchmen and the rest players). Kadin and his band of Fortniters would still call me a noob. I play on switch though so a can’t crank anything. The sensitivity sucks. Byeeeeeeeeeee.

P.S. My dad keeps on complaining that the second paragraph is just repeated but I don’t care.

    • Ms. Panesar says:

Hi Leo, how are you doing? Wait, what! You’re not doing well but you are feeling good? What do you mean? Oh gosh, yes, that dental conference was all over the news. It was in the beginning when the Coronavirus broke out. I didn’t know your Mum attended it! I am so sorry to hear how frightening of an experience that was for you. I don’t blame you at all for being terrified. Most importantly, I am beyond relieved that your Mum pulled through the cold she had and that your family is safe. Thank goodness!!! I love how you inputted classified avenue, lol. You’re right though, it has felt considerably quieter, it does even seem like there are less birds out chirping! Argh, I am sorry that you are getting tortured with piano and Math! Who knows maybe you and Labib can compete in an exciting Math challenge at one point? That would be exciting to watch! I bet Labib would be all in! I am sure Zoe knows your piano pain too, she might even be memorising a piece! Do you feel like the practice is paying off? I am sure it is! Did you play Fortnite with our Fortnite crew?

Hello! Today I’m going to be talking about my spring break! (duh xD).
I have been feeling decent to the point I’m not dying, but not too good either. I feel exhausted….I’ll1 tell you why later when I talk about what happened. Spring break has been okay. Since we can’t really GO anywhere, before all the playgrounds and stuff closed, Me and my brother went bike riding like 2 times until we official quarantine. I basically just scrolled through Tik Tok, trying not to die of boredom.I have been painting and doing lots of art lately. Being inside is boring. I wish I could see all of you, especially your Ms.Panesar, I wanNa kilL your eaRs. What do I mean by ima kill your ears? Well……first I wiLL screAm iN yoUr eAr…that’s it xD. There is no reason to It xD. I have played Roblox on my brothers’ phone till the point he just now willingly gives the phone to me because he is annoyed by me asking xD. THIS IS LIFE WTHOUT A PHONE PEEPS! I mostly play royal high TwT best game ever. Also, I feel like calling it

spring break does not fit it. Because out of two weeks, I have only seen like 30% out of 100% rays ofsunshine. Or maybe that’s just me O.O . Because I have been stuck in my house. The highlights of my coRoNa break are, not having to talk to people, and no work TwT until now. NOw for me to spill like a bucket full of tea. So, Costco is now only letting two people at a time to shop :0 BRUH. There doing it “prevent the virus”. But there Is a line! People are still going to get the virus from lining up! I feel like this should be the next blog post. Now for things I want to share. My rabbit just had surgery the other day.She got fixed (spayed). This prevents her from getting cancer, stop her randomly peeing everywhere, and not to hump anyone, also biting). She has been wobbly; she can barely walk. We need her to eat, but she is refusing too. I had about 4 hours of sleep last night because I had to watch over her, so she eats, drinks, and does not try to mess with her stitches. I’m so tired…… Well I hope everyone does not die from this virus x3 I miss everyone in class, I hope you and all your families are safe! Bye!

But in all seriousness, I am feeling good (mainly because I am playing video games the whole spring break,) I usually played on my computer or laughed at my sister who was bad at a video game, or recently went shopping at saveonfoods with my mom (we had surgical masks on, it was blocking my eye) and the surgical masks were probably too big for my face, but earlier that day I helped my mom pickup groceries (incase you’re wondering we went back because my mom forgot soda) and it was the first time I had actually went outside in the spring break! Most of my time has been spent playing video games because I have nothing else to do, and the shopping experience was not really that altered, besides the line having been changed (practicing social distancing while shopping, there were dots that indicated where you were supposed to stand) and wait was slower cause of the person infront probably panic buying (i saw about 3-5 bags on their shopping cart). The spring break has been mainly okayish and I have completed my handwriting so I don’t hand it in 230817283713812 years late. What could count as a highlight could be me actually remembering to check on the blogs and actually completing my handwriting early once. (I thought of checking the blog yesterday night and I wouldn’t go downstairs cause I was supposed to go to sleep)

I would say that my spring break was pretty good even though I was in side most of the time. I didn’t really do that much stuff either than watch T.V. and play out side in my backyard. sometimes I would do some yoyo if or play video games. I’m feel big fine, I’m not sick or anything and I never was sick. I am good (like Zhao Yu) and my spring break was fun. It was especially when I rickrolled you by watching the first video. I got up to a lot of stuff during spring break, for example, I went to twilight drive-in movie theatre. I also finished season one of fairy tail. I also did some things with my brother like have a nerf war and ride on our scooter in our back yard. it was also fun shooting my brother in the head during the nerf war. Also most of my spring break was spent watching anime and youtube. i crashed a bunch on my scooter and almost broke it. I spent a lot of today (so technically spring break ) trying to figure out sentences for this. So I hope this counts as two sentences about my spring break. Some of the highlights were it being my birthday and I turned 11 years old. Another one being me and my family( no I do not care about proper grammar) all sitting together and watching Brooklyn nine-nine. We all going to seven-eleven to get a slurpee because it was the only day of our lives when I would be 11 and my brother would be 7. We also got a cake from our grandma for our birthday. Being able to rickroll you and finger circle you with the videos ( by the way that warrants a free punch when we get back to school. Being able to work at home instead of a desk at school.

  26. maya33 says:

To be honest, I think once spring break started I already started to miss my friends and classmates, I usually hanged outside or played with my brother. I decided to watch The Avatar The Last Airbender . I started watching it and my siblings followed. Even though we already went through this TV show, we still love watching it. We soon finished the series in five hecking days. So we just moved on to other stuff. We went biking with our cousins Cedric and Liam. We found out that Cedric’s bike’s seat was weirdly tilted and smaller than my own bike. So we decided to give him a bigger bike since my dad has a lot of extra bikes. Liam on the other hand would usually be to afraid to bike on the grass. But eventually he got it. It was really nice to bike their, but when we had to go back home, their was this big hill we had to bike up. My little cousin Liam said that he could bike up that hill. A little bit after he was walking beside his bike. We had a lot of fun at that day. A couple of days later we had Church we got ready and went off to our marry day. Once I got their one of my Church friends said that Arianne is coming back. Arianne was one of our friends who couldn’t catch up with the schedule because it would be to early. Our CWS (Children’s worship service) use to start at 9:00 am, but but since we were in choir for the CWS we had to go earlier, so probably around 8:40 am. But now it was moved to 3:00 pm because it was too early. To be honest, I was supper excited to see her again. After the worship service we came to say hi to Arianne and wondering how she was. The next day was Sunday, so I thought that backing up my supplies for school was suck a big brain idea. So I told my siblings that they should be packing up their supplies too. The just looked at me In confusion. They said that we don’t have school tomorrow. I was a little bit exited because ten I could have more time to play on the guitar. A couple of hours later I started to miss my friends and classmates even more than before (I didn’t mean to rhyme in that part :v) The only people we had a small chance of hanging out with was two of our cousins (Cedric and Liam) my sister was able to slow rap my cousin Cedric out of the universe. It was pretty fun. I soon became real board and stuff so I just started playing duolingo to practice my French. I asked my sister how this app worked and she started hesitating because she said that this app has weird and they know it. She said that duolingo the owl would usually say stuff like “I eat cat” or “I eat dog” in French. I started thinking about it and it was pretty weird. When I was doing to sign up It said “learn many languages. Forever.” I did laugh at it in confusion cause it was hecking confusing. After a couple of days of duolingo my aunt got me the app Teams and was very thankful. After a little while we finally got some homework sent from Ms. Panesar (thank you for that :D) I did get overwhelmed by homework but I didn’t give up. There would be these weird parts when I keep clicking a different number or something. I would get real triggered about it but I still didn’t give up. This one time I thought of this meme and then I clicked the wrong thing and got angry at myself real quick once I clicked the wrong number. I still am thankful for this work to keep us up with our studies. I miss our classmates and my friends. I really want to see them again. To be honest, I’d rather be at school than be in home and study alone. But anyways, I really think I am more stressed than before on my opinion.

I hear ya Maya! I think it’s been really challenging staying at home away from everyone! Those random moments that we have in class are all pretty funny now that we think back on it eh? Just try to keep as positive as you can be by maybe setting up a schedule that works for you, doing the things that make you happy – like Art?
