International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia & Transphobia!

In recent years, the LGBT community have made great progress in claiming rights and inclusion. I say this with a great deal of happiness but also sadness. In many countries, homosexuality is a crime that can be punishable by death. It is the reason why days like today are so very important in fighting for the rights and freedom of the people who identify as LGBTQ. Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia & Transphobia! It is a day that people of all different backgrounds can stand in solidarity as allies with the LGBTQ community by being an upstander not a bystander.

Just to clarify, here are some important terms:

  1. Homophobia: Negative attitudes, dislike and/or prejudice of homosexual (gay/lesbian people.
  2. Biphobia: Negative attitudes, dislike and or/ prejudice of bisexual people.
  3. Transphobia: Negative attitudes, dislike and or/ prejudice of transgender people.
  4. Gay: Males who are attracted to other males
  5. Lesbian: Females who are attracted to other females
  6. Bisexual: A person who is attracted or has romantic feelings for both males and females
  7. Transgender: A person whose identity & gender does not match with their sex.

The United Nations recognises 193 countries in the world. Sadly, 69 of those countries criminalise same-sex relations. Imagine that for a moment. Imagine being told that you must be a certain way. You must follow everyone else even if that does not feel normal or natural for you.

Okay, let me try to relate this for you a bit more. Imagine if:

-Tiya, Jemimah, Leah, Pei Yi or Amelia were told that they could not create any more artsy projects because they are…wrong!

-Dennis, Kevin, Jeron, Lim, Mark, Jason, Billy or Arnav were told that they could not plan Fortnite anymore because it is SO wrong. Don’t even get me started on their WWF wrestling.

-Matthew, Reilly, Daniel, Kenrich, Vincent or Harry were told that they could not be a part of Border Security because that is just plain…wrong!

-Johnny, Bernice and Cece were not allowed to read because that is just so unnatural!

-Hanaa & Kareena could not be sassy anymore because that is just completely wrong!

-Tamara, Milica, Amra, Beatrice were not allowed to dance because that is just so inappropriate. And yes, Frederick would certainly not be able to twerk either!

Hi my name Milica and today is May 17th. Do know what today is? Today is the international day against homophobia, transphobia and biphobia. I t also is a day for celebrating the LGBTQ community. Today I will be telling you a little more on this topic. I hope you learn something from this! I think that for international day against Transphobia and Homophobia it is important to take part in it because it is something that affects us all.

We don’t have to be so mean to somebody that is gay, lesbian, bisexual etc. They either like the same gender or they like both. That doesn’t change really who they are. There is no difference . They get to choose who they want to be and who they want to love. That is nobody else’s to choose who the other person should be or love. That is nobody else’s business. But to know that people have been asked to stop multiple times but continue to it is wrong. That’s why I think it is important to participate in this event and to help the LGBTQ community.

Speaking of the LGBTQ community one famous actress is part of the LGBTQ. Her name is Cameron Diaz. You might know her from a few movies like Annie, Knight and Day, The Other Woman, Charlie’s angles, The mask, Gangs of New York and The Bad Teacher. But she is also part of the LGBTQ community because she is bisexual. She once had a girlfriend but now she is married to a man. Cameron is bisexual. Which means she likes or could like both sex’s. But in 2014 she got everybody wondering and questioning. She said quote “I can appreciate women, but don’t label me bisexual”. What a strong quote isn’t it. She also said “Women have admires other women at some point”. She has stuck up for the LGBTQ community by always publicly announcing that it is okay to be who you want to be and that you can love whoever you want. No matter what gender. She made everybody in the LGBTQ community feel safe, welcomed and letting them know that she will be on their side no matter what!

My thoughts and feeling: I think that participating in today is a big deal because today is the day when they feel special, proud and when they feel like everybody Else. Today is the day when they don’t have to be yelled at and called offensive names for liking the same sex or for liking both sex’s.

TODAY IS THE DAY FOR EQUALITY!!!

Okay start before I get into any serious topic right now: if Fortnite never existed I would drive myself insane and if it exists but I can’t play it then I would lose my mind!!! But now for the serious topic I personally think that all this is really bad because like you said in your presentation does actually affecting people’s minds and making them believe that being a bisexual is bad! And if this one day never stops then people will just feel like they can’t be themselves and that’s just sad. Now for my person that I find in the community of LGBTQ was this Crisostomo (male) he’s a programmer of the like community in some other place in the world that stops these laws of no gay people and no lesbians allowed in any places. And because of him the community might be completely different just because he made this little bit of help that changed a lot for the community in the area. And the reason that I chose him is because he was the only person I could find first of all, but the other reason is that he has one of the most important job in the community. And because I don’t really have that much more to talk about him I might as well go back and to talk about how this is a horrible thing and it’s happening all around the world and that somehow one day we really should stop this. The scary thing is is that none of anybody know where this is happening and what is happening and what is happening to people that do not listen to this law or just don’t care and want to be free. But because I’m here right now I might as well tell you what is happening around the world. (You are the one that told us) All over the world if you don’t obey this law of not doing it and yeah there’s a lot not doing it what happens if you get beaten up or you’ll get killed even. And at that point it makes you think that some people are just completely insane, and honestly if you do then you should be correct on that because some people are insane and they don’t care about other people’s feelings and how other people feel towards other people that are in their gender. And out of that that pretty much wraps up all of the reasons why I think that it’s not okay and that’s sometimes maybe even you what even think why it would be bad to do such a thing and think such a way. And so for the last other sentences I will be talkin about the important parts of what I’ve been talking about for example: one important part could be that people can actually be being up by other people or just killed and it’s illegal to do this because you’re either gay or lesbian. And like I said multiple times is insanely wrong like there’s no other way of describing this by saying that whoever is doing this or whatever country is doing this has to stop because it’s not right people have their feeling and people have their rights. Another thing there’s important is that these things are actually very very scary, and that I think that like I said before people really need to stop it’s making everybody scared and now and like I said before: it’s just dumb that you can’t be yourself because you’ll get killed or arrested or it beating up just because you’re being yourself but why? And I’ll tell you why because the reason why is that people just don’t for some reason care about other people are in. The world has to be “perfect” the way they imagine it. But I will tell you one thing and that’s that those people are stupid and dumb and that they don’t know what life is cuz life is something that you only have once and if you like someone then you should be with them then instead of being alone without the people you like just because someone says so. But yeah, those people have nothing against you are you and you can be what you want to be and never even think of listening to those people that think they are sooooo “perfect” cuz you can do whatever you want and that does not change the fact that you were still human and they are still too. (or not?) And that right there goes to show that anyone could be anyone and people can be jerks because think about what I said before: some of these people actually think that they could beat someone up just because they are being themselves that’s like me playing fortnite but I’m getting beaten up for it. And at this point all you have to say is that I hope in the future that none of this ever happens again and then no one even has to talk about it and that will be remembered and people remember the mistake and never do it again.

I think the International Day Against Transphobia, Biphobia, and Homophobia is very important. It shows people that are one of those “phobics” that it doesn’t matter if somebody is gay, lesbian, bi, trans, or queer. It teaches them that even though some us of are LGBT, we are all humans and we have feelings and opinions just like “normal” people do. It encourages people to NOT be afraid to be who/what they wanna be. It tells us that being LGBT isn’t unnatural; it’s just how some people think. The person I chose was Gilbert Baker. He was a LGBT rights activist. He met Harvey Milk, who was also an activist. He was a drag queen under the name of “Betsy Ross”. As a child, Baker was very friendly, but he felt excluded because he was gay. His parents didn’t speak to him for years when they found out he was gay. After he served for some time in the army, Baker had a friend who taught him how to sew. He used this skill to make banners for protests. He was the one who designed and created the LGBT flag. I think he is important because without his creation, we would only have a pink triangle as the LGBT symbol. The original symbol for LGBT people was a pink triangle because during WW2, Hitler represented all the LGBT people with a pink triangle. Baker replaced the pink triangle with a rainbow. He chose a rainbow because each colour had a meaning. Red (life), orange (healing), yellow (sun), green (nature), blue (art), indigo (harmony), and violet (human spirit). The Pride Flag isn’t his only work. He made many artistic things for the LGBT community. I think Gilbert Baker is important, because without his idea, the Pride Flag wouldn’t exist. And without the Pride Flag, there would be nothing good or meaningful to see at an International Day Against Transphobia, Biphobia, and Homophobia parade.

    My reflection on LGBT

There are two sides that I am on for this topic. I have two sides for this topic. I get the reason why some religions don’t want their kids to be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender because then their religion doesn’t grow. But the saddest part here is why should somebody be discriminated because of reflection on LGBT and not bullying, so let’s get back to the main topic now.a way that they were born. The same thing is with bullying. Why should somebody be discriminated because of a way they are born?! Now this is a
So anyway here are my reasons why you should celebrate International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. If you don’t celebrate, then you will encourage others not to and this will end up horrible for the people who are LGBTQ and all the others who support it. And then, if you have LGBTQ or you support it that means that you will be discriminated by people who are homophobic, but if you encourage this holiday to be celebrated, then the people who are homophobic might get encouraged to stop being homophobic. And that little move might make the world a better place by at least a little. Another reason that you should celebrate this holiday is for the people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender, so they get the help from others and so they don’t feel like their creation was a mistake and a bunch of stuff like that.
Now for the person that is LGBTQ. I picked an American Soccer player named: David Testo (born August 7, 1981, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina). He retired after his playing career ended in 2011. He became the first male American professional player of that sport to come out as gay. Testo played professionally from 2003 to 2011, including two years in Major League Soccer with the Columbus Crew from 2004 to 2005. He began his career with the second division side Richmond Kickers, and also played for the Vancouver Whitecaps and Montreal Impact (also second division teams at the time), before he was released by the Impact in 2011. He played collegiately for South Carolina and North Carolina. He played as midfielder on the field and in his career he scored 16 goals and 13 assists. Sadly he retired so doesn’t play anymore, but he is still plays soccer unofficially as well as he officially did.
I watched a video on youtube about his reflection on him being gay and I learned that he was totally fine with it. And I also learned that sometimes he got insulted on the field like being called gay and other insulting ways of calling someone gay. He just said: “Thanks,” so the person who called him that wouldn’t get the reaction he wanted. David Testo was a good soccer player, so when he scored a goal, some homophobic fan from the other team would usually start screaming: “ Soccer is not for gays like you! “ Or something like: “REF! Soccer is not for gays like this little ***!!!” It was hard to not quit soccer because of all the bullying on to him, but he just stayed strong and didn’t care about all those homophobic fans. That is why I chose him, because of his bravery and strength. The other reason why I picked David Testo was because he was very good at soccer and I like soccer. Also he played for the Vancouver Whitecaps and we all know who the Whitecaps are, so that is pretty cool.
    Here is what he did for the community of LGBT: you probably know that homophobes say that gay people can’t do anything, but David Testo was a good soccer player and he scored 16 official goals in his career. Surprisingly, after each one was scored he made people think more that people with LGBTQ can do the same thing as people that are straight. You already know the saying that if you take off the skin of everyone, then you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference with someone who has LGBTQ and someone who does not. I mentioned this saying again because it is such a smart and true saying and I really liked it. Thanks for reading this and have a nICE DaY rEADErS. ;}

International Day Against Homophobia And Transphobia.
I think that it is important to take part in International Day Against Homophobia And Transphobia because first, it’s just so rude for people to be against LGBTQ its not even a little rude it so, so, so, so, so, rude and for the Alberta town to not raise the Pride flag. Also for other countries to sentence death if if you are LGBTQ.
I think that it is important to take part in so, you can support people that are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender to be themselves and that they can have feelings for anybody they want. It’s also important to take part in because first of its not nice to not take part in because that means you do not support people who are LGBTQ and why wouln’t you isn’t it good that people are finding love. You should also take part in this because this might encourage people who are homophobic and transphobic to stop what they are doing wrong which would help the LGBTQ community.

    Brendon Urie.
Brendon Urie is a very famous singer at least I think and I love his songs. He is pansexual and one of his famous quote is “I am married to a woman and I am in love with her but I am not opposed to a man because to me I like a person.” Something I really love is that when he came out as Pansexual he didn’t care what people thought and just said that I like good people it doesn’t matter if their trans, bisexual, gay. Brendon was definetly in the LGBTQ comMunity and if you don’t know him by name he wrote High Hopes.
One song that he wrote inspired lots of people it was called girl, girls, boy. Something that I found very good about him was that he never found it weird that he loved ( liked)everybody but when some people did found it weird he had a solution. He did not care one single bit about what they thought. I really think that people should take part in this.
But not just because to support LGBTQ people to be better people into celebrating something that is a big thing in lots of people lives. But if you do have some thoughts about why I should do this put yourself in their shoes (Idiom). What if you were LGBTQ and nobody was supporting you, but even worse like bullying you if you were LGBTQ. How would you feel? Think about it if you do have some thoughts that I do not want to participate in this. Well I hoped you liked my blog. 🙂

Hello today I’ll be about talking about international Homophobia and transphobia. Well if their wasn’t any fornite I literally would have nothing to do with my life anyways back on track. This important day takes place On May 17th. I think this day effects us all not just gay or lesbian people or many more should take part in. we’re all humans we should be treated the same! For example if theirs a disabled person you don’t treat him any differently than you do with people who don’t have any disabilities. We’re all the same spices. It’s not like some or monsters and some or turtles were all humans. So for any Gay Lesbian etc person out their reading this don’t care what people say. If someone is making fun of you due to you being Gay. Just ignore them. You control you don’t let anybody control over you. So if your always bullied because your gay or lesbian etc don’t give a crap just mind your business. I’ll be doing a person named Thomas Sanders because his the only one I thought of. If you don’t know who he is a American singer, actor, scriptwriter etc.And of course he identifies as a LGTBQ. The important thing about him is he identifies with LGTBQ. He is born on April 24 1989. Which Means he just turned 30 Years old. Like I said he does many stuff he plays as a actor, he writes scripts movies and he sings. My favourite part about him is he creates funny vines that you can find on YouTube. He was born in Gainesville Florida. Which is in USA unless I’m stoopid. His height is 5 10. One thing that is Important and the people who where gay lesbian etc had to face. Being Identified as a LGTBQ can lead you too miserable punishments or even be sentenced to DEATH. Unbelievable am I right? Anyways this is all I have for you. I hope everybody learned something new. I also hope someone learned that being gay etc is fine and it is all up to you.

I think everyone should participate in international day aganist homophobia and transphobia. I think that the place in Alberta that refused to raise the pride flag is disrespectful becasue what if there was a flag for straight people and place in the world refused to raise it. Some places in the world it is illegal to have same gender marriage you can be sent to jail or killed which is wrong. I think it is very important to join in to this day because people are getting bullied because they are gay, lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender which is really sad but why whould they do that because anyone can love anyone they want. right now when i was browsing the news a school bringingham with people protesting to stop LGBT lessons. it is also important to participate in this day because you may spread a good infuence to your friends who do not know about this day. “Normal” people probably think it is unatural to see two men holding hands and that is why they do not support LGBT. I am not gay, bisexual or trans but once someone thought I was trasgender becasue I was wearing pink in grade two but that is not the case. If you can get death for being Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgender is a crime its self its like you can’t do anything you love. Also we are all humans so it does not give them right to bully you if you are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender. I think most people are ok with having Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people around them cause I don’t mind. Also I have a friend that is transgender and he does not get bullied about being transgender. A religion that prohibits same gender marrige is cristianity it is a sin to have same gender marrige.
The person I choose is a basketball player named Jason Collins he played for eight teams the New Jersey Nets, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves, Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Washington Wizards and Brooklyn Nets also he was the first NBA player to come out gay. In the locker room his teammate used homophobic slurs and he said “there is still a lot of work to do”. He also said we know it can get extremely homophobic in the locker room. He also would like to see every team in the league host pride game every year. I wonder what other peopele would feel if they were bullied becasue they were Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender. I think every should participate in this day and I hope everyone will. I hope you like me comment on this thank you.

Hello THIS IS THE REAL ONE, today I will be talking about the day that was on this Friday which was: international day against homophobia anyways if border security didn’t exist then everybody will come to certain countries or contents and some of them might be insane or drug dealers its the same with homophobia! Homophobia is basically discrimination against people that are gay and lesbian but instead for saying gay or lesbian Im happy that the LGBT group existed if not then everybody will be discriminated but the LGBT group dont just help them they also support them. We all know that being gay or lesbian is okay but in some countries its not okay just like Ms. or Mrs. Panesar said in some countries being gay or lesbian and lead your way to death that would not be that fun. oh and I have a friend that’s gay and he told me that he is officially getting bullied but I can’t help him because he’s in another school maybe like stride or something. That’s just sad people should have freedom and be whatever they prefer like i prefer to have a better PC lmao maybe I shouldn’t laugh at this anyways if you wanna be gay in Canada then your good maybe just Burnaby because i think you’ll be fine or maybe get bullied and officially the lgbt group is gonna help them so that they dont get bullied or discriminated. Oh did i mentioned that you know the grade 7 Jayden that you taught? his friend David called me gay even thought i’m straight. but he got burned because i said this kind or insulting word: he says “your gay kid” (even thought he’s still a kid rather than me) Anyways if you wanna be gay or lesbian i don’t care i only care if you get bullied or insulted but I don’t think i’m that strong i’m only strong at running. Anyways did you know that in some parts of Korea will literally kill you if your gay or lesbian? Yes and there is no LGBT group well if you are already in Korea good luck trying to hide from the killers. I think that being gay is really okay and that everyone should have pride and pride is caused by the LGBT group thanks a lot! because if you don’t have pride your not human you know what you are? your a evil human. Anyways i think that being gay and lesbian is okay because well if your gay or lesbian or transgender or uhhh right!*shutting down* *shutting complete* *turns on computer* loading… 1% 27% 63% 96% 99% sorry your computer ran into a problem that it couldn’t handle *reboots* 99.99999999999999% loading… 99% 100% *types user name and password* welcome *opens google* sorry there was a tsunami so yeah. Pan sexual or bisexual you may be lucky or will you? that’s just a bad reason. Well here’s a good reason you may be special. Nah not a good one how about being gay should be allowed because well if your gay it’s really hard for you to be straight again and some people struggled. Like if i was gay even thought i’m not it would be really hard for me to be straight again because i’m used to being gay just like right now in real life i don’t wanna be gay but you will be forced to that’s what it will feel like. I hate that experience and the LGBT group helped again. Anyways i would like to ask a questing to Ms. Panesar what would you do if chocolate was banned everywhere? And that how it feels like to change from gay to straight. Again the LGBT group helped

    -Daniel

    • Ms. Panesar says:

If chocolate was banned, then I might have to resort to illegal measures, Daniel. Although I cannot tell this to the Border Security crew or else I will have a new offence. I would also try to rope in some help and definitely use Hanaa as my fallback if I ever got caught lol joking!

    LGBTQ+
Firstly, I feel that the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia and Biphobia is important to take part in as by taking part in because of how everyone on this planet is equal even animals and plants because of how everyone and everything has a reason for being alive and everyone makes a difference in this world. So, people, that like other people of the same sex as the sex they are that is normal, it is allowed so it’s not like people that are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or anything else are aliens that have come to Earth to evade the planet and kill everybody, no that is not the case they are people just like everybody else on this planet. I feel that we should all celebrate this day as it may prevent more people from getting homophobia or transphobia and get more people to learn the truth about people that are lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual or anything else: that they are people just like everyone else and that you do not need to be afraid of them or dislike them for who they are as like what Ms.Panesar’s wonderful example that said how liking the same gender or both is natural to them like how playing video games is natural to some people like how reading is natural to me. You should not hate on someone that has no control over who they like. If everybody on this Earth partook in this day of awareness then may in a decade or so may this Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia will stop or at least not be as common around the world as it is today.

For the person I choose for a person who is an ally or part of the LGBTQ+ is Barack Obama, the 44th president of the United States. He has supported the LGBTQ+ community by making many improvements to the lives of many people in the LGBT community, some of them include the cancelling of the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy which had barred openly gay, lesbian, and bisexual people from military service, preventing bullying and hates crime against LGBT Americans, supporting LGBT Americans health, ending the legal defence of the defence of marriage act, which had defined marriage as only between a man and a woman, protecting LGBT Americans against discrimination, taking steps to ensure there was LGBT equality in housing and crime prevention ( the police),advancing and protecting LGBT rights around the world, recognizing LGBT history and contributions and many more. As you can see I chose Barack Obama because of how many accomplishments that he has made to improve the lives of LGBT Americans and people in the LGBT community worldwide. Barack Obama is an important figure in the world as he is the 44th president of the United States(as I’ve mentioned earlier) and the forest African-American president, he is a lawyer, political figure, author, a law professor and of course the president of the United States. Barack is currently 57 years old.
And now since I’m finished talking about Barack Obama, now I will be talking about some interesting facts about LGBTQ+:
1.Did you know that 70 percent of the world’s population is under the restriction of free sexual 2.expression and gender rights.
May.17th is the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia
3.Sally Ride, the first American woman in space was also the first known LGBT astronaut

  11. jeron1 says:

Why is this thing an actually a thing? What I mean to say, is why does homophobia and others, thing exists? The gay and lesbian was already made and a random person made a word that means a person hating gay and lesbian. For me that is just plain stupid and ridiculous to be a hater, they are still people and you have to respect their choice or you can just let them be and all. It’s all a ridicules thing and if you hate those kind people, you might be sent to jail, if the government makes a law about it. If a person makes a petition about this, someone just give that person a million dollars for making a petition for a law that if you are a hater of LGBT people, you are sentenced ninety-nine years in jail, than choosing the law of everyone has to play Fortnite. Honestly, I will still rather sign the against LGBT haters, because if someone is so kind, they probably give you a hundred-dollar bill and V-bucks are better than everybody playing Fortnite. Ok if you are hater of lesbian and others, just think about your favourite thing that you like to play with and people making fun of you, just because you like to play with that sort of stuff. If that does not make you think again about your decision, think of this. You are in a religion that saying you people are only to play PUBg and you randomly shout out “What about Fortnite?” and that owner of the religion says “THAT is unnatural for you!” Then they kick you out. Then that word unnatural stays inside your head. That is what LGBT community is fighting for, not necessarily unnatural, for gay and lesbian and more rights. Now I will talk about the person I picked, Matthew Morrison. He is a male and he is not gay even though every one thinks he is. He just loves gay people, what I mean of that is he helps and likes them. But he is not gay, just check all his quotes it says it all, but some say he is. It is all very confusing if he is gay or not because there are many sites and some are older than others. Matthew is partnered up with the human’s right campaign, also with LGBT equal rights. Here is a quote that represents his promise “At this decisive moment, when there is so much work ahead, I’m still standing with HRC and LGBT people across the world until this fight is won!” He has very many quotes that say he will keep his promise, now he has helped many and inspired. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you basic things about Matthew. He was born on October 30, 1978 and he is forty years old right now I believe. He was born in California, United States, I forgot to say. He is an actor, singer, songwriter, he stared on year 1999 and still going, and for me I did not see him in any movie, so probably he is not that famous. He has a wife named Renee Puente and they have one son. His son’s name is Revel James Makai Morrison, for I don’t know how old Revel is and what he looks like. This guy inspired me to just be yourself, even though I heard it a million times, but he explained it better, no offence to anyone who tried to explain it to me. Well this blog post was one of a kind, actually.

In Islam, being a member of the LGBTQ community is haram. Haram is the Arabic word for forbidden or prescribed. In the old days, when people were getting too out of hand, Our God would send a prophet to guide them. One of the reasons a prophet was sent was because men started marrying men, that was a crime punishable by death, in some heavily Islamic influenced countries still execute you if you are found guilty of liking the same sex. However, we respect the fact that all humans are equal and should be given equal rights. Normally, I would not discuss or give input on this topic as I did not know anything about this before coming to Canada. I do not take part in this celebration but respect it. The LGBTQ Community is growing larger by the day and it is amazing that society is finally realizing that everyone should have equal rights regardless of their race, culture, religion, sex or sexual orientation. Slowly the issue of inequality is being solved. Racism a crime, sexism is becoming lesser and lesser and now we have a holiday to celebrate the rights of the LGBTQ Community. Although the LGBTQ Community has come quite far, a lot of religions still do not approve of. The person I chose is one of America’s 2020 Democratic Candidates. Pete Buttigieg is gay and recently got married to Chasten Glezman. Pete is the mayor of South Bend Indiana and has placed 3rd out of the Democratic candidates. Pete is openly gay and on an interview with CNBC he said, “I hope to turn to that story if it helps people understand how I might be able to relate to others with radically different experiences…” Buttigieg also doesn’t care what other people think of his relationship. When president Trump said his relationship was absolutely fine and good, Pete said: “I’m more interested in policies that affect LGBTQ people.” Even though President Trump is fine with Mayor Pete being gay, he still does not like him and that was confirmed when the president tweeted, “Hard to believe Fox News is wasting airtime on Mayor Pete…” Now, America is known for racism, slavery and a whole bunch of other discrimination. Having a gay president would really show the LGBTQ community that it’s ok to be gay, to be bisexual, etc. Not only would Mayor Pete be the first-ever openly gay president, but he would also be the first millennial to become president. Maybe a few decades ago, this would have never been allowed. He would have never even been allowed to become mayor or serve in the army. This just shows how far the LGBTQ Community has grown over the past few years.
Recent studies show that 4.5% of Adult Americans identify as LGBT. Sadly though, there are still some small minded people. Just a few months ago, a gay couple walked into a bakery and requested a wedding cake. The store owner refused because he was Catholic and it went against his religion. Like I said previously, religion should not be a reason to deny someone their human rights.

Hello! My name is Amra and today I’ll be telling you guys some of my thoughts on International Day of Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia, and I’ll be talking about a person who identifies as LGBTQ. Enjoy!

    My thoughts:
I think that everyone who is bisexual, gay, lesbian, transgender or has Homophobia, Biphobia, or Transphobia should be treated nicely and loved (as a friend;)). Let’s say you found out that your friend is lesbian, would you still be friends with her? To be honest, if I found out that my friend is lesbian, I would still be friends with her because first she is my friend and second it would be totally rude just not be her friend just because she is lesbian, that just means that I don’t appreciate her (which I do). Now I would like to talk about a person who identifies as a LGBTQ, which is Miley Cyrus. Miley Cyrus is Bisexual. Miley Cyrus has always made it clear that she’s comfortable with her sexuality. Miley Cyrus has always dated guys in public, such as Patrick Schwarzenegger and Liam Hemsworth, she also dated some females as well, so she’s kind of balancing with men and women at the same time, but now she is married to a man named Liam Hemsworth. How she became a LGBTQ was she promised to always be part of the LGBTQ and to always show and respect pride. The first time she revealed that she was bisexual was when she told her mother at the age of 14. Even though her mother was scared of Miley and was blanked out, she still accepted her sexuality.
Now, back to what I said before, Miley Cyrus has been outspoken in her support of the LGBTQ community in the past – even getting a tattoo in support of equal marriage. Discussing her pan sexuality for the first time last year, she said that she is “open” to “everything that is legal”. Anyways, When she was engaged to Liam Hemsworth, she said that she didn’t understand her identity until she met other members in the LGBTQ community. She said: “I went to the LGBTQ Centre here in L.A. and I started hearing these stories,” she explained. “I saw a person in particular who didn’t identify as male or female. That person was beautiful, s**y, and tough but vulnerable, feminine, and masculine. And I related to that person more than I related to anyone in my life. Even though I may seem very different, people may not see me as neutral as I feel. But I feel very neutral. I think that was my first gender- neutral person I ever met. Once I understood my gender more, which was unassigned, then I understood my sexuality more. I was like, ‘Oh- that’s why I don’t feel straight and I don’t feel gay. Because I’m not.'”
    My conclusion:
I’m happy I have learned something from this and it tells me that to respect others even if they’re lesbian, gay, trans, bisexual, or pansexual. If you have a friend that is either one of these like gay, stay friends with them. It does not matter if they’re gay. I honestly just stay friends with them and just respect their sexuality. It wouldn’t be nice if you just leave them just because they’re gay.

I think it is important because many people in this world don’t think this way. I mean I would understand why they would do that because of their religion. They do this day so that they can realize that people should have the rights to do these things. The bad thing is people do deny these thing and they continue to do this. The thing is people try to stop this. I hope it works and it is important to tell people this. Also I think it might work so hopefully it will happen in a few decades. Then it will at least reduce the percentage to 45 percent. Now that would be a lot of people who have changed and are on LGBTs side. So it is important to take part because maybe one day people will actually realize this and will change. If you are reading this which you are I hope that if you are not with the LGBTs side. I hope that you understand that people should be allowed to do this because some people just like to be that way or want to be that way so take part of it. You don’t have to take part of the community, but you should at least be on there side and not say that doing things like being gay is very illegal and that you can have a death penalty for it. LGBT means/stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender. Harry Hay began LGBT. He is a american gay rights activist, communist, and labor advocate. He was born is a middle class family. I couldn’t find why he started ,but my best guess is that he wanted to stand up for these rights because that’s mainly what LGBT is for. LGBTs flag contains the following colours red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. Forty two percent of the LGBT community say that they are living in a unwelcoming environment. Which is pretty sad because that you are standing up and taking part of the LGBT community people are unwelcoming to you. That’s like saying for example pretend your favorite game is minecraft and you are being uplesantly being unwelcome because you play minecraft.

    About LGBT
Today I’ll be talking about my thought and feelings about this situation. I think it is something important to take part in because firstly, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender is not a good thing to be doing. But apparently, some people think it is perfectly fine which I believe is also okay. Just so you know, LGBT stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender. Bty Lesbian means that a woman and another woman are having enduring physical, romantic, and emotional attraction. Gay is used to describing men and men who are having enduring physical, romantic, or emotional attraction.

Today I’ve chosen a celebrity or someone you would call famous that is LGBT. Not to be mean but it’s a little weird to know that they are LGBT. I’ve chosen a sing Lady Gaga. Yes believe it or not Lady Gaga this singer everyone knows is LGBT!!! She has gone through many different things about her situation for LGBTQ. In the summer of 2009, Lady Gaga won one of the first of the many, many awards she’s received in her career. When the video for her second single “Poker Face” beat out Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies”. She won International Video of the Year at Canada’s Much Music Video Awards, Gaga gave a short, sweet, and sincere acceptance speech: she gave thanks “to God and the Gays,” sending the LGBTQ community a sign of what was to come.
Once in a West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol Building, Lady Gaga was feisty: “ARE YOU LISTENING?” she screamed demanding action from President Obama. “We will continue to push your administration to bring your promise to reality.”
In that same weekend, she attended the Human Rights Campaign gala and took a stand when she took the stage. This is one of her quotes I liked “I’m not going to play one of my songs tonight because tonight is not about me. It’s about you,” she told the crowd.
Even though this situation is okay in some countries but in some countries, there are serious consequences such as to sentence death if you are LGBTQ. I hoped that you enjoyed reading my post !

This is something that i would never get. Why can we all just mind our own business. Like have u seen ellen she has made a living. And what is she ? gay. Freddie mercury. He was in the band QUEEN like omg and many others have made a living and what are they??????? LGBTQ and LGBTQ+ and we have to make them feel bad and we have to make them regret what they decided for the good. And we have to but in and tell them what we want and that we do not care at all about what they think or to make matters worse some lead to death. Aids for some and suicide and who are the causes of these the rest of us that feel bad about ourselves so what do we do we take it all out on them. Wow what a great place to have our families get born into and have that hate for people that are gay or LGBTQ. We have to stop before the next war in-between the gay and LGBTQ and the hatters. I am making a bet that, that will be the next war. And it will have nothing to do with trump. The person that i think that really did something that is good is good old Freddie Mercury sadly he is dead but i know that many others know how good of a life he had. And the reason i picked him is the faked that he did not care what all of the people would say he would just blocked all of it out and keeped his head in the game. And where he started off from and then where he got to is crazy. His father did not even believe in him but Freddy had belief in himself and that is all that matters. That is all i got to say thank you for reading all the way to the end.

In my opinion I think that everyone should participate in international day against LGBT. Firstly, i think that making fun of people or bullying people for being gay/lesbian is discrimination and discrimination is bad. If your gay/lesbian then your lucky that your in Canada because in some countries there’s a death penalty for being gay/lesbian and let me tell you some of those countries. In Afghanistan the penalty doesn’t exactly refer to being homosexual but rather puts in under the illicit sexual intercourse which apparently according to some legal Afghanistan schools may include the punishment of stoning which is a bunch of people throwing rock or stones at the person or people that get the death penalty until they either die from trauma, getting smashed by a boulder in the head, losing to much blood or getting shotgunned. Next, Brunei Sharia penalty code, also includes death by stoning but in only includes sex between men( gaiety) not sex between woman (lesbian) but this punishment includes to Muslim, and non Muslim including those on Brunei ships, aircraft, and transits. In Iran, homosexual sex is declared a capital offence in the Islamic penalty code. Iran execution grounds are hard to find but 2005/2006 and 2016 there is evidence that people were hanged. In Nigeria several northern states are using Sharia based criminal laws including drinking alcohol, highway robbing and just a bunch of different things that include hefting. In Pakistan the death penalty for homosexual acts is permitted by the law but is not applied in practice. In Qatar allowed to only Muslims for extreme rights sex, disregarding the gender of the participant. Saudi Arabia, which doesn’t have classified criminal laws. In Somalia some southern Islamic courts have made Sharia based death penalties. Sudan has third conviction. In the 1994 law men were put to death for homosexuality.

Harvey Milk was the first openly gay person to get elected to a public office. Harvey Milk was born in New York 1930 and became a gay rights activist. He found his voice in gay rights after he moved to San Francisco, 1972. In 1977 he was the first openly gay person to get elected in a public office which earned him a seat in the San Francisco council billboard. Sadly in 1978 Harvey Milk was shot and killed by the evil man named Dan White that from some reason was also a city council board member. Now if you search up Harvey Milk, not to judge but he looks kind of on drugs because when i searched his name most of his pictures were him smiling and almost the rest he was laughing very crazily. not to judge. Real talk, kids never make fun of someone if there homosexual, pan sexual, bisexual, or transgender. Go to your pops or mom or anyone that’s an adult and you can trust and tell on them. Real talk over.

I know Swear words but i think LGBT words are worse if used in a bad way! So ya to me I think that you should participate in this event thingy? I don’t because many people in this world don’t this way like they think like pffffffttttttttttttttt being gay is so bad or Uh if you’re a lesbithink an yoour trash. I mean I suppose I kinda understand (I don’t actually) but I have a darn good question why they would do that because of their religion but why does this exist. They do this day so that they can realize that people should have the rights to do these things. The bad thing is people do everyone always sem to deny this event name that I don’t even wanna pronounce and they continue to do this. The thing is people try to stop this. I hope it continues for let’s say till and it is important to tell people this. Also, I think it might work so hopefully it will happen in a few I don’t know centuries nononon thats wrong uh years nononono uh decades decades Then it will at least reduce the percentage to 0.000000000000001% (rip little 1 :() Now that would beworks a lot of people who have changed and are on LGBTs side. If you don’t wanna waste your time googling LGBT it stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender… oof :). (Aka what you expect… not) Harry Hay began LGBT. I mean Garry gay ya he began it. She is a American gay rights activist, communist, and labor advocate type of guy. He was born in a let’s say middle-class ergo rich-class ergo poor-class ergo I don’t even know ergo I don’t even care! In a picture that I found I think he is half man and half women so to put it simply he is Transgender and gay and lesbian! I couldn’t find why he started cuz wikipedia sucks, but my best guess is that he needed to stop people being all idiotic to each other by if they are LGBT because people r disrespekting it (Srry for bad spelling. LGBTs flag contains the following colours red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. 42% of the LGBT community say that they are living in an unwelcoming environment. Which is pretty sad because that you are standing up and taking part in the LGBT community people are unwelcoming to you because I don’t know they hate you :(. That’s like saying, for example, pretend your favorite game is I don’t know Mirros edge and you are being Minecrafty being unwelcome because you play Mirros edge that is like losing a lawn mower while mowing the lawn to only using a pair of siccsiors ok not like that but you get the point. My thoughts on LGBT pride

When facing this topic it makes me think of the many insults and words that I have heard been thrown around the internet. I hear people from different age groups, even adults say homophobic slurs and not only does it disturb me but it affects me as well. I had started to go under the influence to think that something like this was okay and I had let my words slip and things that had come out of my mouth started to sound like the things that the others had started to say. Although my parents had finally resolved the problem I was really ashamed of my actions. I also think that it is a terrible attitude to express because of its absurd behaviour towards the people who want to express their feelings towards their sexuality. People who scream out these slurs have no true knowing of how these things affect others. Kids usually who are going through the faze of being a teenager do everything in their power to fit in with the other teenagers, and to have their behaviour to slide towards the fact that the words others say are offensive to many. (including me) This affects them into saying these things just like them do just so that they can earn “respect”. For me personally, it’s hard for me and the others who support these people (and the LGBTQ community) to digest such disgusting behaviour that are shown in our regular community. I don’t want to stick on looking on the bad side of things because there is a lot of bright things towards this subject. Let’s talk about our good side of the community, people (especially the LGBTQ community) are a lot more open on things like the internet social networks/media and just generally expressing themselves towards their lives. Let’s take the social media for an example. There are countless artists on social media who aren’t afraid to express their relationship between them and either their girlfriend or boyfriend. Most of them, even support the fact that it’s alright and for me that’s great because it is looking towards the better side of people and allows others to save the other community who is making fun and do not understand the seriousness of their actions. This is a step that needs to be taken into a deeper understanding for everyone as it is a course to live in a less chaotic world, as the same mistake had happened before. Especially in the 20th century people disliked how people are in a relationship with a person with any sort of sexual orientation and although this act of love had dated long ago even till the medieval/egyptian times it was hated by many of the people back then. That’s why we should be very thankful for the countless protests between the LGBT community and society that changed this world for the better. Although hatred towards these people are still haunting the world it has settled down a whole lot and for the better. There is a certain story of a person that I have heard since my birth. His songs, and recently a movie to commemorate his legacy that’s right he is Freddie Mercury. Freddie Mercury is a well known singer in the band Queen. He is a legend when it came to his lead vocals in some of the world famous songs such as Bohemian Rhapsody, Somebody to Love, We are the Champions and We will rock you. He and his band had a musical career that would last decades, all the back from the 70’s till the same generation that we are currently living in. He was a legend in his days and to be honest still is but any secrets had been kept only till the laterpoints in his life. Freddie Mercury was biosexual, he had relationships between both men and Women but hadn’t realised the secret for a longer time. He didn’t even expose the secret to his very own parents because of the amount of discrimination that he would’ve received if he had done so. You see, He was born in the 40’s and at the time being LGBTQ was a mental illness, a joke or even a tragedy and to make things a lot worse his parents had practiced a religion called zoroastrianism which considered being in love with a person of the same gender to be a demon warship. This not only made it extremely hard for him but for everyone in the LGBTQ community at the time. However when Freddie had kept it a secret he was actually in a serious relationship with his ex-wife Mary austin. The two had gotten together during some time in the 70’s ad had actually married one another. Although deeper in their marriage Mary Austin had later found out that Freddie Mercury was bisexual which later led to him confessing about his sexuality. Mary Austin actually thought that Freddie however was gay, which he was not so they had split up. Although after their relationship Freddie had still continued his love life and being involved in many other relationships with both men and women of which some had been hinted in of a few of his songs. However in his last years of his life he was on a relationship with an Irish hairdresser, Jim Hutton who had stayed with him till his eventual death due to Aids in 1991. Freddie Mercury had actually faced a lot of flashback from the community at the time as the news and countless reporters had bombarded him with questions of his sexuality during the time when he was under the suspicion of doing such things. It was also shared in some parts of the new movie that had shown a news/reporter seen where Freddie Mercury had faced the many questions which would lead him to many problems in the future. To be honest, I think the people questioning his sexuality wasn’t the best thing that they should’ve done because it is his secret and for the people to treat him that unfairly as if they aren’t accepting of his beliefs was quite disappointing. Especially from a men of such power being ridiculed by something as silly as his sexuality. However, I think he handles it well as shown in the many documents, films and the big screen hit they see how he goes through with it. Going from a great depression after splitting with the band for a short amount of time to performing of one of the most populated crowds in a performance ever, it truly was a legendary era for a legendary person. Everyone who sees this check out these songs.

I just want to say first that if I lost border security I would move to another country. Ok now on to the real topic. I think that some country leaders are not letting people be lesbian gay or any other because human have basic rights and they deserve to do whatever they choose for love. Also it seems like that people deserve to be lesbian, gay or anything else like people work jobs to help the economy and then the people they are working for just take away some of their rights. It’s almost like making someone work for you and then make them pay you instead of you paying them. It seems very wrong to be doing it also why would you make fun of them lesbian or gay can adopt kids that can take kids of the foster system. I guess some people don’t see it that way, but like why wouldn’t you see it that way. I think that it is kind of reasonable that you wouldn’t allow being gay or lesbian for religious reasons but I dont think sending people to jail is right. Its reasonable because some countries which have a high amount of people that are in one religion, and it’s also probably rude to break a religion your family might have been doing for like a long time. Also breaking will probably make everyone in your family mad at you. Maybe instead of jail time you can put a fee on being gay or lesbian so it’s not as bad as jail? I honestly don’t know. I think it is important to take part in because then you can stand against people who don’t want this day to exist. Also its good to show your support to gay or lesbian people so they don’t feel alone. Why though if you are transgender or bisexual that people will get mad at you. It seems that it is very logical to harass someone who just changed their gender because they felt like it. My grandma doesn’t like transgender because she said that god made the person a gender for a reason not for them to change it. Now for my person
Gilbert Baker Was an American artist, and gay rights activist, He created the rainbow flag. He was born on June 2 1951 and died on March 31 2007, His flag was used as the symbol of the LGBT community. He lived openly gay and participated in gay protests. He first started making banners for the LGBT community. Then he made the rainbow flag with a collective in 1978 but he did not trademark it. Then he made one in 1998 in celebration of the 25 anniversary of the stonewall riots. Then he made a flag from the gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic ocean. After that he became a symbol of gay pride, and more flags have been made.

So first I will just say that I am happy that there is an International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia & Transphobia! But have you ever thought about if people were prejudice or discriminatory towards straight people because of the fact that they are straight? That’s what I thought. But it is still very important to celebrate this holiday in anyway you can from dying your hair and painting your walls to putting a little rainbow flag in your bedroom. For example this year i decided to wear a different LGBTQ+ pin every day for the rest of this week.
The LGBTQ+ celebrity I am going to talk about in a moment is Dodie Clark. Dodie’s pronouns are she/her/hers, her gender is female, and her sexuality is bisexual in her case she is sexually attracted to “ The Two Genders” male and female. The reason I said “The Two Genders” is because there are infinite genders. Take for example two other celebrities that i could have talked about, Miles Mckenna, and Ash Hardell. They are both Non Binary meaning they are outside the binary or gender. Miles is on the most masculine side of the Non-Binary spectrum meaning that he identifies as Non-Binary but uses the pronouns They/Them and is also comfortable with He/Him. Miles also identifies as Transgender. Ash Hardell is closer to the middle of the spectrum. They are Non-Binary and lesbian. Meaning that they are homosexual. Now back to Dodie. She is also a Youtuber, singer, and songwriter which is why i decided to research her. Dodie Clark wrote a song about being Bisexual I will put a link down at the bottom so you can listen to it.
In conclusion the LGBTQ+ community has made a lot of progress but there is still a lot to be made. There is a huge spectrum of gender and sexuality. Last but most definitely not least Be yourself love yourself and only the ones who care about you the most will stay with you and those are your true friends.

Because I was born in a religious family, they tell me that I shouldn’t do these I kind of things. But I’m not like them. It boosts people’s self-confidence, allowing people to be who they want to be without anyone looking at them with dirty looks. It tells us that being LGBT isn’t unnatural; it’s just how some people think. I also think this celebration is important because it makes straight people see LGBT in a new point of view, in my opinion. I think it doesn’t just help people who is LGBT. It also teaches people that even if you are transphobic or any other of those“phobias”, it doesn’t mean that you can’t have friends or family that are LGBT. It makes the LGBT people who are unwelcome to their school or family members feel more welcome because they know that there are people in this world who actually consider their feelings. An inspirational quote I found on the internet said by the person I will be talking about next said this, “You don’t have to live a lie. Living a lie will mess you mess you up. It will send you to depression. It will warp your values.” It means that you don’t have to live pretending what you aren’t. In this case, you don’t have to live pretending that you are straight when you’re actually straight.
The person I wanted to look into more who was LGBT and an ally of the community was Gilbert Baker. And yes, he said that quotes. As we know, back then, it wasn’t normal to be gay, lesbian, homosexual, bisexual, etc. He was a LGBT rights activist, and part of the military. He made many artistic things for the LGBT community, which makes him an important figure in the LGBT community.
I think Gilbert Baker is important because without idea, our flag would still be a boring pink triangle. There would be nothing interesting to fly in a parade. Most important of all, the Pride Flag wouldn’t have any meaning to it.

First, I will die without a book to read in my life, thanks and I think that people should not be mean and bully the people that are gay and lesbian. That is completely wrong because they can not control who they fall in love with and you can’t force people to be like you. It just isn’t fair that people try to force other people to be like them. Treat people the way you want to be treated. It’s not that hard. I think that when I grow up I will join the LGBT community. If anybody says anything that is bad about the LGBT community in front of me I will get pretty mad because my friend (Cece) is part of LGBT community, and you don’t want to make me mad. Anyways, I really hope that in the future more and more people will respect the community and all the places in the world will accept the community more. The people in the community are people just like you and me, what is wrong with that? Why don’t people like LGBT? What is so wrong with it? The world won’t end if some people are in the community. Can’t the people in the world just accept the LGBT community?

Second, we should move on to facts about Harry Hay. I chose him because he is the one that started LGBT. Harry was a huge part of LGBT rights and he created LGBT. He first thought of the idea of starting a Homosexual group on August 1948. After getting the idea he talked to other gay men. He was encouraged by their responses and started organizing principles the following morning. On April 1951 he told his wife about his idea on starting a Homosexual group. She was furious and they got divorced because of Harry Hays “extreme cruelty”. Harry moved out of their house, but he didn’t give up. At first all the gay men he asked to join his club showed a bit of interest, but none of them joined his club because they were all afraid to join a club that only had one member in it. Although, no one joined Harry did not give up, he kept persisting and finally he found a guy called Rudi Gernreich who immediately became Harry’s lover and became the first person to join Harry’s club. The two traveled far and wide in search of more members. After a while of searchin Harry retired from most gay activism until more radical lesbian and gay movement in the early 1970s. Harry and Rudi also formed another club, the Radical Fairies, but it grew too conservative, so they shut it down.

In conclusion, I think that gay and lesbian people should be treated with more respect than they are now. People should not tease others about their personal life. It is their choice not ours to make about who they decide to marry. I think that Harry Hay was right to start a club on gay and lesbian people’s rights. We should put a stop to this.

International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia & Transphobia!

I think this is important to take part of because around 65% of the people are in the world are stupid. The reason I say they are stupid is not because they don’t know what 6 x the worlds length then + the perimeter of the Canadian Pacific Railway length and then divided by 525 and then + the kg of Highway #1 then to exit #43 and then from there, drive the closest route all the way to white rock and then all the way into the USA and then into San Francisco – 626 equals. It’s because they make no logic. Why in the world would people kill/torture people because they love someone that is their own sex! It’s like a boy playing with a girl and then they get arrested/killed/tortured just because boys usually play with other boys so people think boys are supposed to play with some other boys which is kind of sexist. I’d join this because this is what the cool people join. If you don’t join this, that basically means your uncool then. This is kind of crazy because half of the world would rather kill people or imprison them if they are LGBT. Which makes most of them stupid. This means that little kids like us are smarter than those hobos out there. What makes me think the most is, if you were gay (for example) would your family abandon you? Here’s another one that I was wondering. If aliens were discovered and came to Earth, are aliens LGBT? Would aliens like LGBT people? Would they abduct them and then take them away to their planet? Those are like my questions even though probably all the answers for it is all going to be NO! For the famous person part, I chose Ryan Murphy. I chose Ryan Murphy because he is one of the most famous and best and successful television showrunners of all time. He also had a show that had the largest cast of LGBTQ actors ever in it. He also donated all the money that he got from that to LGBTQ charities. This is why I think he is important to the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia & Transphobia. That is all I did for my blog post and I added this so I can get another sentence. Also this one.

This is my thought on LGBTQ

In my opinion I think that the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia should be celebrated every year, and it should be celebrated for 3 days. And I think that people should put up the Pride flag on their house or on a famous building in any country. Another reason why I think that the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia should be celebrated because people that have LGBTQ are still people.

Now let’s talk about people that have LGBTQ. I think that all you know about a person name Thomas sanders. Thomas sanders is a vine maker on youtube. I like some of his vines not all of them but some. Thomas sanders is a singer, actor, scriptwriter, and Internet personality made famous by YouTube. Thomas sanders is important even though he is gay he can still be treated like anybody else and he is also really fun and awesome. Like I said Thomas sanders makes vines for YouTube and entertainment.

Now let’s talk about one of the famous instagram user James Charles. Now I am to talk about what is important about James Charles. He makes beauty products and he is also gay and bisexual but more on the gay side (sorry for the language). James Charles is an American Internet personality, beauty YouTuber, and a make up artist. In 2016, he became the first male ambassador for CoverGirl.

Now let’s talk about Cameron Diaz. Something important about Cameron Diaz is that she is an actress so she entertains people in drama or movie and she is also Lesbian. Cameron Diaz is a former American actress, writer, and a model. And Cameron Diaz has frequently appeared in many comedy shows throughout her career.

My first thoughts on LGBTQ are you should treat other people that have LGBTQ because they are still people but with different personalities. And my second thought about this is that imagine how people that have LGBTQ are treated on their everyday lives/daily lives. Imagine these people are maybe experiencing depression, stress, and anxiety everyday. My third thought is that LGBTQ people are the same as we are but maybe more emotion but still we should treat them the same as they treat us. My last and final thought on LGBTQ is that we should all deserve freedom and equality and that sex should be treated equally. Hope you enjoy my reflection and thoughts on LGBTQ

WE SHALL ALL DESERVE FREEDOM AND EQUALITY!

I think that is important to take part in it because people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) should not be afraid to express his or her feelings and not care about what other people think or say.

I have chosen Ellen DeGeneres today. She is amazing and I am going to use her as an example as she is a comedian, television presenter, film producer, screenwriter, voice actor and television producer and she doesn’t care about what other people think about her. In the LGBT community it doesn’t matter if your gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender you are all the same.

Before she publicly came out in 1997 Ellen said “I just was carrying around this sadness inside and this shame of the fact that I was gay when it was like, why am I ashamed of who I am? And who’s everybody else to tell me that that’s wrong? It’s my life”. This is what Ellen said “to say the words ‘I’m gay’ came from such a place of shame. It had been just self-hatred and all these feelings that society feeds you on a daily basis to tell you that you’re wrong,”. “So I just decided I was going to come out, and it was the best thing that ever happened to me.

She did more to influence Americans’ attitudes about gay rights than any other celebrity or public figure. In 1997, she came out as gay/lesbian and became a staunch advocate of LGBT rights. She didn’t grow up think that she’d be a pioneer in the fight for LGBT equal rights and visibility. Ellen DeGeneres’ opening monologue is usually a collection of hilarious anecdotes, she used her platform to address anti-LGBT laws in the state of Mississippi. Ellen also reached out to her fellow southerners, “If you’re in Mississippi or North Carolina or anywhere and you’re saddened by the fact that people are judging you based on who you love, don’t lose hope. I was fired for being gay and I know what it feels like. I lost everything but look at me now”.

Some of my thoughts Day against Homophobia and Transphobia is how this is mostly a good thing. For example I feel that many people should know about other sexes and how other people can attract to the same genders. I think that it is important that people know these things so somebody won’t say anything stupid and very offensive. The same thing goes with younger people, so they also don’t make dumb mistakes that they can’t take back. I also think that it is a good thing to celebrate our differences and to not discriminate others for who they are attracted to, because that isn’t really reasonable. I think people shouldn’t bully or discriminate people because they look different or act different. Because there are still technically people. I think this day is also important because it celebrates people who are not really specified as either male or female. So your kind of celebrating diversity which is good. Plus if somebody have hate against someone who is maybe gay might make them feel hated and don’t belong, this can sometimes happen so we mostly want to prevent it. But sometimes there are people who actually respect people, like Ellen, she is a part of the lgbtq, in fact she is actually lesbian. if you don’t know who Ellen is, then the following information will be helpful. Ellen was born January 261958, in Metairie Louisiana. She is mostly known for having her very own television show simply named after herself. (The Ellen DeGeneres Show.) Ellen is a comedian, a television presenter, a film producer along with a screenwriter and an actor. . She is actually identified as lesbian and she has a wife named Porta De Rossi.. She came out ion 1977 telling a live crowd that she was lesbian. Ellen’s popular show got many awards. An example of that is how her show got a people’s choice award. As I said before, Ellen does acting. Did you know, that she stared in finding Nemo as the forgetful fish Dory! Ellen also published a few books of her own like that one book called My Point…And Do I Have One. That book got a 4 out of five star rating and is a New York’s best seller. The book talks about shares her Humor and explains our minor human weaknesses. So as we saw from the ratings, people somewhat like her book. I believe that her newest book is literally called, Seriously.. I’m kidding. Yes kind of and odd title. Of course Ellen published far more than two books her whole life. Now that’s true success! Okay moving onto the real big stuff. I said that Ellen was lesbian right? Well, I’m going to provide you some more details on that. So as I said before, Ellen is married. And her wife, Porta De Rossi married Ellen on August 16, 2008. When Ellen came out, it was live on camera while with a live audience. That Episode was called the puppy episode. I’m not really sure if it actually had puppies in the episode but all I know is that it was Season 4 of 22 out of 23 episodes. That must have been a risk for her own career. Because sadly, not all people support The Lgbtq plus community. I feel that Ellen was extremely brave and willing to take the risk. Plus she did it in front all her viewers so that must have been very pressuring. I’d probably feel very, very, nervous, because I don’t want to lose all my hard work and the job I love. I also feel that Ellen trying to show how even thought there can be hate towards the Lgbtq plus community, she still wants to show people that being gay or lesbian, etc. Is totally fine and you should be proud of who you are no matter how different you are. So all in all I feel that the Lgbtq plus should be respected and not be judged what so ever. And I believe that Ellen is a perfect and brave person to show others to not disrespect anybody who is gay etc. Plus we’re all human being living on the same planet, so we all should be treated equally.

Okay, first off can I just say that I’m so glad that we are doing this topic! I am shaking in anticipation! But that is not the point of this. I am supposed to be telling you why I know( not think) that it is important to celebrate this day and why it matters for the LGBTQ+.

First of all, this day is for this group of people that are LGBTQ+ people. It about what they had/ are facing/ faced. I mean, many of them had to face a whole lot of discrimination and some of them are still being forced to face it. If it is bullying or being sentenced to death they all had to face a point of being judged because of who they were. Which is why they need people to partake in this holiday. It gets others to know their troubles and what they have to deal with at times. If no one partakes in the day then many people won’t care about what is happening in many other countries to many people who just want to be with who they love. They just want to be happy and there are others who think that it’s not right and decide that they are not allowed to live a good life by themselves.

Thankfully this day is here so that means that we are able to appreciate the people that have to go through this and believe me there are many people. For example, take Ash Hardell. They are a non-binary, pansexual, trans youtube. They have lots of videos about LGBTQ sexualities, their struggle through how they identified themselves, and some fun hilarious comment that is in all of her videos( prepare for lots of puns). but the biggest thing she did was write a book that had all things LGBT+. She made it knowing that there were many people LGBT+or, not that didn’t know a lot of LGBT+ information and that there should be something that was easy to obtain that has all of this information.

So even though all of this might not affect some people, we should recognize this day and be like all of the others that do so much for the LGBT+ community like Ash Hardell.
