Hello Families,
I hope all is well.
Students have been placing their marked learning activities in a learning log. This binder shows your child’s learning throughout the first term. Next week, students will be taking their learning logs home to show you their marked work.
The purpose of this is twofold. First, it allows you to see how well your child is learning at school. Second, it gives you some insight into the final proficiency scale mark your child will be receiving on their first-term report card.
For example, if you see six Proficient and two Developing marks in Language Arts, your child will likely receive a Proficient on their final report. In contrast, if you notice four Developing and one Proficient in Math, your child will likely receive a Developing in that subject.
If you would like to schedule a meeting to discuss your child’s learning after reviewing their learning log, please let me know — I would be happy to meet with you.
Take care,
Sergio Modica Amore
