Alice Gus Visit

Hearing the stories and songs from Alice Gus was definitely a highlight of our first week back from Spring Break. Learning about the Squamish Nation and her family’s history gives us a glimpse of her culture and way of life. Our field trip to the Museum of Anthropology was also very educational and memorable, especially viewing the weaving exhibit with its many beautiful blankets and tapestries. I am excited about Montecito’s venture to create our very own Coast Salish blanket that will represent what our community is all about. Happy weaving!
