Hello Division Four!
I am so excited to be joining the Montecito School community and being a part of your learning journey this year! In only a short week, I have experienced such a warm welcome from both staff and students and already feel at home. Everyone has been so kind, helpful and respectful towards each other and the ‘new’ building. You truly live the school motto: Kind to ourselves, Kind to others, Kind to this place.
A little bit about me……I have been teaching for over 20 years now, mainly in the intermediate grades but have also worked with primary students as a learning support teacher. I taught for a number of years at Cascades Heights School in Burnaby but have also worked in West Vancouver and Vancouver. While I enjoy teaching all of the subject areas, I would have to say Math and Science are my favourites.
Outside of school, I am usually with my family which consists of my husband and two children. In our spare time, we like to go bike riding, walk the trails and geocache in the many beautiful parks that populate our region. I also like reading and am especially fond of historical fiction books in addition to a good mystery. This past summer, I spent several days exploring the lower mainland, particularly the outdoor pools to cool off in the blistering heat we had.
Now, what about you? On the following questionnaire below, tell me about yourself so I can learn more about you too!
