Britannia Mine
Despite the rainy weather, our trip to Britannia Mine was exciting and interesting! Although I have been here a couple of times before, I always learn something new each time. For example, I did know that 8 tonnes of muck, or the equivalent of 5 cars, was carted out of the mine each day. That is a lot of muck! I clearly remember going on this same field trip when I was in grade four, just a few years after the mine closed in 1974. Of course, the museum has changed in many ways, but after all of these years, that field trip is still etched in my memory. What about you? Did you enjoy this field trip? What did you learn and what will you remember most?

I really enjoyed this field trip. It was really fun, but a really far trip to Squamish. When we were underground in the mine carts it was really cold underground but really cool seeing different things type of ore they found. The thing that was super cool was when we got to see her use loud tools that still work. In the end when she pulled the horn it means the their shift is finished.
