Grade 6/7

Hello my grade 6/7’s!

Your first music project: If you could find a (8-10) pieces of paper (lined paper or blank paper: your choice), stack them on top of each other and fold them in half to make a little booklet so you can use this as a reflective music journal.

*If you have a stapler at home, staple the middle of the booklet where the fold is happening so the pages are more secure staying together. (Not to worry if it is too difficult to do).

Instructions:

  • First page is your own creative Title Page. Example: Johny’s book of songs! (or whatever title you wish to have)
  • Next page: a song you listened to on the radio or a song that comes to mind. Write the name of the song, and 3 reasons or thoughts on why you chose this song.
    • How did the song speak to you? example: Beautiful melodic line, or did the lyrics of the song speak to you?
    • What part of the song impacted you the most? Why?
  • Ideally: one page is for one song. Unless you feel you may have a lot to write about for one song. (Look below at idea #2)
  • Please colour it and design it in making it your own!

*Idea #1: Perhaps you can fill a page a day = meaning a new song a day, Perhaps a page a week = a new song a week.

*Idea #2: Or perhaps if you’d like to write in detail about one song that has really impacted you, perhaps 2-3 pages on different verses of that song, and how these lyrics has helped you reflect on your current way of feeling, learning, and thoughts.
