Hello Band students!

Music is a language — and learing to read and play in a new language takes time and practice.  When you use the new language regularly, it WILL get easier to remember, to read, and to play.

Here are links to a note naming activity featuring the first 5 notes for your instrument.  Have fun!

FLUTE = Bb, C, D, Eb, F

CLARINET & BASS CLARINET & TRUMPET = C, D, E, F, G

ALTO SAX = G, A, B, C, D

TENOR SAX = C, D, E, F, G

BARITONE & TROMBONE = Bb, C, D, Eb, F

Essential Elements Interactive = VIDEO RESOURCE for starting to play your new instrument.

We will get all students signed into EEi – but it will take a few steps and a bit of time.

For right now — these videos are from the EEi web page.

  • PLEASE watch the video(s) for YOUR INSTRUMENT to be sure you are doing things correctly.

You can revisit the links until they expire on October 31, 2021.

  • Once you’re signed in to EEi, you can watch them all year.
  • To access the video folders right now, you need a password to access the files.
  • The password will be shared in class.

Please watch the videos by October 10

  • There will be a short follow-up assignment in class during the next week.
