With report cards just around the corner, students are scrambling to get late assignments in while teachers are frantically trying to mark and assess all your wonderful work!
Please check with your teacher if you are missing any work!
This week is PRESENTATION WEEK for SCIENCE
If you are working on a PowerPoint but don’t have the software, try Microsoft Open Office.
Today is Day of the Dead! or Día de los Muertos
The multi-day holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died, and help support their spiritual journey.
Div.4 news:
Div. 4, we’ve loaded your names onto the district blog site and you now have the ability to post your work to your own, personal blog (which is housed in LANAWAY’S LOUNGE).
Parents: please remember students are not to use their full names or post pictures of themselves. I ask that you do the same (when commenting). But don’t panic! — I must read and publish all posts and comments before they go live (before they can be seen by the you, the public). Check our Blogging Guidelines for more on this.
This blog site is a tool for students to improve their personal writing skills. We invite you to join in our enthusiasm. So please READ OUR BLOG, and feel free to leave comments.
Monday you will need your binder and dividers – as well as all the other supplies on the list I gave you this week. If you’ve misplaced this class newsletter, please see this copy. welcome-letter-to-parents_2016
Also, TRIBE tasks have been assigned; here’s how we’ve decided to divide the work!
Div 4 is beginning to look at what kind of learning community do we want to be. To start, we discussed what we need to feel safe and trusting in a group (see our brainstorm below). Following that we discussed what makes an ideal classroom – what kind of behaviours would make this the ideal classroom?
Some common themes are coming up!
Well done, Div. 4!! We’re off to a great start!! 🙂
What a great summer we’ve had! But with fall around the corner and school at its beginning, I have to say, I am excited to see your bright, shiny faces and get started at a new and exciting new school year. So, come on in, get settled – get comfortable — we’re in for a good ride!
Time for our goodbyes… BUT as they say in French … à la prochaine!
I hope you all have a super-duper fabulous summer!!!
Check out some of our geometric designs below. And if you’re interested in making PATTERN #7, check out our MATH PAGE to view all the instructions there.
Don’t forget…
All our clay works have gone home, so be sure to take a look at your child’s beautiful clay tile and pinch pot.
And they look fantastic! I’m so pleased with the work of Div. 3 artists! Take a look!
Consider…what colours stand out to you? Do you have favourite colour combinations? Do you prefer the naturescapes or are you partial to the creative designs of the Zentangle-inspired tiles?
We all have different sensibilities when it comes to art. There is no right or wrong, just what engages us, makes us think or feel something, or maybe it is simply aesthetic. One thing is for sure – this diversity of artistic expression makes us RICH!
