New Years, a  time when we make resoIutions and try to complete them. I really like to write, so this year, I pledge to improve my writing.

I’d like to try and add more detail to my writing and become better at planning what I am going to write.

When my writing lacks detail, it makes me confused and when I’m confused, I rewrite my writing and then the same cycle can go on and on. I guess I should try to be more specific when I am describing something and I should use more descriptive words.

Since I like to read, I can try and find words in books or dictionaries.

Sometimes I don’t know what to write because I am unprepared. This makes it difficult to write. Especially since I can sometimes be a procrastinator. This also causes writer’s block.  

I also get ideas from reading books.

I hope to become a better writer by 2018, at least.

I was a little scared heading in to the new school, but it was great! I know you won’t believe it but I’m actually in Mr. Marghelis is class, and probably Danijel and Angelica remember him but it’s ok if you don’t. I miss you guys; I still have to pick up my stuff there! Ok, have a great time you guys.

New Year resolutions are a good way to learn and do new things. I have chosen a few resolutions to do in 2017.

My first resolution is that I want to write a book series. The reason for that is that I want to become a better writer. Writing is also a way to express one’s thoughts and feelings to the reader. I also have a ton of great ideas in my head.

My second resolution is that I want to learn how to program or to animate. The reason for that is that, I think working with computers and programming or animating is going to be very fun. It also allows you to test your intelligence and skill.

My parents try to help me learn these things because they are very important in life. If I want to be a writer when I’m older, I have to know how to write and have a wide vocabulary. My Mom helps me with writing because she is quite good at drawing, writing, colouring, etc.

My Father has two Masters Degrees in Computer Science, and also taught the subject in the University of Dhaka, so he helps me with learning how to program and he says he will teach me how to animate. Both of my parents are very skilled and have experienced very much, so they know a lot of things.

In the end, I want to do even more and be better than I already am. These are just two of the things I want to do and learn.

I think Auggie is wiser, because he’s been through a lot his entire life. He’s been through surgeries. So he knows pain, he wanted to go because he had time to think about it. He’s been teased a lot of times from school or outside. So he learned not to listen to them and knows how to deal with it. Auggie knows from experience that what you do is more important than how you look. He cares more about what he does then what other people think (sometimes). He doesn’t like to quit. He won’t be mean because he knows what other people would feel. That’s why I think Auggie is wiser.

I think Via is wiser because her parents have been taking care of Auggie more then they take care of Via. Because of that she is more independent. Like Auggie she knows that it’s more important then what you do then what you look. That’s why I think Via is wiser. That’s why I think Auggie and Via are wiser then their age.

Auggie and Via are wise beyond their years. They have thoughts and make decisions that “normal kids” wouldn’t have.

For example, when Auggie was writing about the October precept, he was being very thoughtful and mature. Also, Via can make very difficult decisions and takes care of herself. She doesn’t rely on other people and “marches to the beat of her own drum”.

I also think that Auggie and Via have grown up too fast. They have experienced very much. This is both good and bad because Auggie’s view on the world is more mature and well thought out. This makes the story more interesting. Via seems more independent because of that which makes them a bit more likeable, intelligent, and tough. This is my view on the subject, what’s yours?

I think that Via wise beyond her year, because she able to take the train by herself and when his brother Auggie feels sad because his face, Via always protects him. Via can understand how is Auggie feels, know how Auggie is been bully, sick and someone stare at you, and she understand that that why Auggie want every day is Halloween. Auggie think Halloween is the best because he can wear his costume, Auggie’s costume has mask, so if he wear it, no one will know he is Auggie and maybe someone will think he is someone else. Via know how Auggie feeling, but Via can’t know everything about Auggie because maybe Auggie has some secret he won’t tell Via, no one will know what is Auggie’s secret are.

I think that via has been wiser this years because all the challenges she has been through. One is her friendship with her best friends Miranda and Ella. In the summer her best friends went out in the summer without her because they knew what they wanted to do without via. And when they were back they were with all the popular kids. And I think she was pretty upset about it to.

Via thinks that her problems aren’t as August problems. She cares a lot about August, she is always worried about school and asking him how it went at school and how he is feeling. One day after school there was a Halloween pared August was so upset about what Jack Will said about him that he dint want go. Via cheer him up by telling him that she was going to give him all her candy and she was going to be there for him. But August knew that she really care about him and really want him to go with her.

Via cares more about her report carts and classes then being a popular girl at school and hanging out with popular kids with her friends Miranda and Ella. And doesn’t want to be popular and focus more with school. I think she still knows Miranda and Ella as her best friends and still missed them but she thinks that school is more important than being a popular girl.

One day after school via’s mom was going to pick up August so she couldn’t pick up via, because August was feeling bad. So Via’s mom called Miranda’s mom to pick via up after school. Via was so upset that she lie to Miranda that her mom was going to pick her up. But actually she took the subway to get home by herself. When she was home her mom asked “where is Miranda”, via lied and said that they were in a hurry so they left.

She went to Augusts room and asked him what was wrong he didn’t answered because one he was playing video games second he was reading 2 comic books and was pretty upset. Via said hey I asked you a question, he answer and said that Jack Will was saying things about him. Via told him to get dressed. August told via that Miranda had call but August never told via because she didn’t call her she call August to asked him how was it going. But she did said to tell you that she misses you, via was so happy she didn’t want August to see her so happy.

In my opinion is that August understand the precept because all of those heroes he wrote on his paper they were remembered because of their personalities and their attitudes. Auggie has been bullied for a long time by Julian and his friends and by many other people at his school.

August know a lot he is a smart kid maybe he knows more other kids he knows what the October precept means and I think he is going to change others thought of him his going to change their thinking.

I think that October precept means to August is that we should be remembered for the things we do. The things we do are the most important things of all. They are more important than what we say or what we look like. The things we do outlast our mortality. The things we do are like monuments that people build to honor our heroes. Monuments are made out of memories that people do for all of us.

August has learned from all he has been through. Even though he has deformed face he is a smart kid. I think that what he is having a really hard time at school because people don’t look at his deeds because they are so busy looking at his face.

I think Mr. Browns precept “you deeds are your monument” means that whatever you did will always be remembered. When you pass away and you have done good things to the earth you would be remembered for it. For example terry fox ran for cancer and it was years ago people are still thankful for what he did. Always choose right from bad.

Why it’s important to Auggie.

I think why it’s important to August is when Julian made fun of how he looks like and made up the cheese touch about him. Julian would always be remembered of what he did. “Normal isn’t perfect” it really doesn’t matter of what we look like.
