I enjoy going sound mapping because when you sit alone for a while you can hear lots of nature sounds. It’s also really calming.

I hear all sorts of different natural sounds when I am alone with nobody to talk to. I can hear birds chirping and also the wind. I can hear lots of human sounds too. I can hear children talking, the construction site and the cars. In the construction site I usually hear stuff dropping and the site’s machines. Once in a while I hear a bird chirp.

I also like sound mapping because it is calm when you are quiet and alone. Sometimes I enjoy the quiet and peace, but sometimes I don’t. I enjoy it because you can be calm, think and rest.  I don’t like it because if you sit there for more than 15 minutes you get bored and lonely.

I mostly enjoy sound mapping because you can hear stuff you don’t normally hear and it is calming once in a while so you can think in peace and quiet.

What I like about sound mapping is relaxing but when we did it the second time I was
bothered by a bug that scared the heck out of me.
For sound mapping we only had 5-10 minutes.
The bug looked like a lady bug but no red, no black spots, it had brown,
red (mixed up) color, it also had wings but I killed it after.
The sounds I like was wind (cause it was quite) blowing into the leaves,
helicopter (Was cool).
The first time we did sound mapping it was relaxing.
I wish we could do this again but with a partner.

What I liked about sound mapping was that I got to be alone in the grass, relaxing, with no sounds of yelling or talking anywhere. I liked being alone because there is no one talking to me and I couldn’t hear anything but the birds and the sky train, the sky train wasn’t relaxing but the birds chirping was. I liked being outside, especially in the shade, the shade made in relaxing. Another thing that I liked about sound mapping was that we got to hear more interesting sounds than before, maybe sounds that we didn’t even know were there because we weren’t focusing on them, also maybe because there was so much “other” noises. I also liked sound mapping because we got to draw where we were and I love drawing. We also got to place on our maps what we heard which was pretty fun, I guess.

I like the free write is because I like to write down things that I have ideas in my mind. I like the sound mapping is because I like to locate the sound I heard. I like it is also because we get to go outside and hear a lot of special things we don’t get to hear in the buildings. I like to stay in an area with trees and in silence. I like to stay silence by myself, it was quiet and nice. I like being near at nature, it let me feels as if I was part of the trees. If there was no human sounding such as hammering, cars and sky trains, it will be better. I like nature better than city. I like to watch the insects climb on the trees, busy working on something. I even saw red ants. I like to breathe the fresh air in outdoors. Silence helps me calm. I like to look out to the sky and see what the cloud was like. The cloud is always changing shapes, sometimes it was a halo, sheep or a man. I like to see the trees shuffles when the wind blows. I like to feel to wind blowing, it feels good. I like to imagine things. Like when a sky train passed me I would think if somebody had gone to a field trip or somebody was late for school. When I saw the ants climbing I would think if the ants have schools too. I wish if we had more time to sound mapping. It was fun to hear things instead of seeing. I like nature.

What I like about sound mapping is drawing the place I am sitting in and I like the place I was sitting in because it was shady. The most part I like about sound mapping g is sitting in a quiet place that is peaceful place that I like to be in. What I didn’t like about sound mapping is we don’t have a lot of time for to write a lot of time for free write. And I like not sitting close to people because so you don’t talk to people

What I am proud of

For T3, I am proud of my science project, math, music, paragraph wheel, lit circles, and social studies.

I am proud of my science project because I think I’m learning more about body system and learning more about why some parts of the body is important. I am proud of my math because I think I’m learning more skills and I get a higher score. I am proud of my music because I think I’m learning notes and beats. I am proud of my paragraph wheel because I think I’m learning how to write a good sentence and your telling what is story about. I am proud of my lit circle because I think I’m learning more things like writing some questions, personal connection, and three words that you don’t know what the meaning of it. Lastly I am proud of my social studies because I think I learn about some countries were like mapping some places, countries, and I learn about zika virus, racism, and the first nation. That’s what I am proud of and I am proud of myself.

If I had 3 Min to pack up and get away from a wildfire I would bring the blanket that my great grandmother made for me before last year, my first dollar in Canada and my lucky coin.

The reason why I would bring that blanket is because it took her a lot of time to make it and, she is a very important for my German side of the family plus, we know she is going to go away soon so we decided to keep that blanket and pass it down for generations, and right now I am the one who has it so I don’t want to just let it burn because if I let it burn I will have to burn with it.

A reason why I would want to bring my lucky coin is because I only found it 3 months ago when my friend Andy threw the penny in a bush because he knew I wanted it, first I just left it there because I knew he would take the penny from me and throw it away again. So I came the next day took my time to find the penny and after I found it, my luck turned around a little and it got a little better, I started finding more money on the ground… Anyway, let me talk about my first dollar.

It took me a really long time to convince my mom to let me work on stuff and get money to buy a computer only for me myself and I, but after I convinced her it started getting easier and easier, only thing I had to do now was find something we get for free that I could sell (because I didn’t want to be cheap and buy stuff then sell it for a bigger price) so I started selling cookies because my mom works on subway and she gets free cookies, that is how I got my first dollar.

Those are the things i would bring if there was a wildfire (which there won’t)

What I like about sound mapping is that you can identify the different types of sounds you hear outside. I like sound mapping because it helps me be more aware of my surroundings. And the sound mappings helps me to get to know more new sounds that I have never heard before. The second thing I like about sound mapping is that it makes me relax. It’s better to do the sound mapping in quiet place because you can hear a lot of different sounds. I really like doing the sound mapping either than doing work in the classroom. You can do the sound mapping peacefully outdoors either than doing work indoors. During the sound mapping you encounter sounds that can be annoying which I really hate to hear. Or you encounter sounds that can be relaxing. I am really looking forward to doing the sound mapping again. And the next time I do sound mapping I will be really glad to hear the sounds again. These are the things that I like about sound mapping.

I like sound mapping and free writes in the park because I get to be alone, and because it’s quiet.  But sometimes I see/hear different things.

Usually, I’m really attached to my friends when we do something. I’m always with them and I don’t do many things alone. I think that I want Ms. Lanaway to take us outside more. At the start of the year, I didn’t like going outside at all, but now I actually really like it. It’s really different because most teachers just give you worksheets and tests to do. In this class, we do most things outside.

I like nature better than the city. Although I don’t like everything in nature, for example, I still hate bugs, especially spiders. The best thing about sound mapping is watching and listening to different things. I heard the sky train so many times it started to get annoying, but when I heard the birds chirping and the wind blowing the leaves, it made me feel happy. The next time I go somewhere far away from traffic in the forest, I’m going to try to do the sound mapping. Then, I’m going to compare the two places of sound mapping and fond the differences! I wonder if it will be very different.
