I think Auggie deserves this medal because he showed a lot of bravery and courage. He showed a lot of bravery and courage because when he went to the nature retreat there were these 7^th graders who were picking on August but August didn’t care about older people picking on him. They were pushing him and making fun of him but he stood his ground and he stood his ground and he stood up for himself and Jack. After this incident Auggie’s life completely changed, everyone accepted him because of the incident that happened, people thought he was really brave because he proved others wrong and stood up for himself and the others, he proved others wrong because he showed others that he can do the same things others do with a facial disorder, he might even do things better than others do.

The quote Mr. Tushman said was, “Greatness lies not in being strong but in the right use of strength. He is the greatest whose strength carries up the most hearts. He is the greatest whose heart carries the most hearts by the attraction of its own.”

The award is called the Henry Ward Beecher medal. Auggie is really deserving of this award because he never gave up and he earned everyone’s respect even when he gets neglected and bullied. He keeps going and he eventually found someone not because of how he looks but because of the bravery and perseverance he showed towards others.

The way Auggie effects other people’s lives is truly amazing because sometimes people without a facial disorder can’t even change someone but can you imagine a guy with that kind of disorder change a bunch of people’s lives in a positive way, He really does deserve this medal.

I think it is a bad idea because of the following reasons. It is a bad idea because it is very expensive, just to see animals that are about to be extinct, even though they are causing it. If something happened to the ship the 17OO people at risk. If there is ice in the way, they are going to destroy the ice making climate change faster. That’s why I think that the cruise ship is a bad idea.

I am talking about stress and how I avoid it. I sometimes I leave my homework to the last day. If I try to go fast then I start to stress, I don’t know why. But if I don’t go fast, then I start to calm down.

I also don’t stay organised in many things, like a desk/bin, binder, a box, when I can’t find something, and more. I fail a lot to stay organised. How to be calm when not organised is clean up every day, I mostly forget to, but I try to remember to clean up.

I stress when I am losing a game. I only stress about it when I try it so many times and still fail. I try to not stress by saying it is just a game or I stop playing the game.

That’s is what I mostly stress about other things I don’t remember how to be calm or I don’t remember at all. That’s how I manage stress!!!!

Hello my name is Marko, and I will tell you some tricks/pranks to pull on your friends without too much cleanup! My 1^st is to find a medium sized bucked and fill it with water, then but it carefully on top of a door that leads to a room that people commonly go to. Then when they open the door they will get SPLASHED!!! My second prank is to Take the eggs from someone’s refrigerator and hard-boil them. Then put them back where you found them. Can work well when camping, only do a few if you want breakfast! My 3^rd prank is to Fold the flat sheet on the bed double and tuck in securely on the sides, when the person get into bed they can’t go further than half way! My 4^th prank Works well with someone that speaks on their Office Telephone a lot. Place a small piece of clear tape over the speaker part of the handset. Watch how your pranked friend gets seriously annoyed with the phone and the people on the other end! Add some extra office noise! For more Fun remove the tape for a while then stick it back – continue this on and off throughout the day! My 5^th prank is to tell a friend that you know a great trick. Put your hand palm-down on the table and balance a full glass of liquid) on the back of your hand. Bet your friend that they can’t balance a glass on both hands at once (help your friend to put them in place). As soon as you have the glasses balanced on the prospects hands, stand up and walk out. They will be trapped and will have to spill to escape.

Stress is one of the things I hate most. The reason I hate stress is because it makes me angry and sometimes it makes me hungry. Whenever I am angry, hungry and grumpy because of stress it puts me in a bad mood for the rest of the day.

Some ways I deal with stress are doing my homework earlier, making sure I have enough time and staying organized. The one thing I have trouble with the most is doing my homework earlier and on time. The reason I think I don’t do my homework earlier is probably because I think I have way more time but in reality I don’t. Another thing I do a lot is I procrastinate. I keep telling myself I will do my work in 5 minutes but when it reaches that 5 minutes I procrastinate and give myself another 5 minutes or so.

I will try and solve this problem I have by reminding myself over and over again that I have to do my homework. This problem can affect my learning big time. This problem is all in your head and it’s your choice whether you want to control it or not.

I feel like I dealt with stress pretty well during my life. There were sometimes where I dealt with stress through conflict I had with others. I use different strategies to try and deal with stress like walking away, talk about the problem and just apologize. I mostly use these strategies but sometimes these strategies don’t really work and the problem can get out of hand. Whenever the problem is about to go wild I usually get someone to help and resolve this conflict I have with the other person.

People get stressed just like me and this is just a few strategies that I use to calm myself down, I hope you use some of these strategies too!

I think that August deserves the Henry Ward Beecher Medal because he has perseverance, and most importantly, he is kind.

August has perseverance because even when he was being bullied, he kept on going to school. Well, first of all, even though he was scared to go to school just because of his appearance he still kept going because he wanted to learn more and make friends. Remember August was being bullied by the big kids at camp, his sleeves on his sweatshirt were ripped off and he lost his hearing aid? Just imagine, what it would be like to experience that. I know other kids have experienced worse, but, in his ‘condition’.  Just imagine an older, stronger person calling you an alien in front of all of your friends, in my opinion, I’d be pretty embarrassed!  Then they attempt to beat you up, but even though this was one of the most intense scenes that August has experienced. Auggie was very, very brave. He showed all of his characteristics. He showed perseverance because, he didn’t run away like a baby (because he was he was scared out of his pants) and he was kind. How? He didn’t insult them. He didn’t step down to their level (maybe because he was too scared to talk. And he couldn’t hear because he didn’t have his hearing aids.)

August is kind because even if there were some mean children in his class and school, he made them realize that what they did and do was wrong and this made them a better person. For example, when Jack was talking to Julian about August, he said some pretty mean stuff. But no matter what, August still forgave him and they are now close friends.

This has been why I think August Pullman is deserving of the Henry Ward Beecher Medal, though he is a persevering and kind young man, he is many more.

In Community Circle we are doing stuff. We made a big community web. Every day we do a random question. We played games like sit in a chair, I feel, Interview, Great Wind Blows, The Name Game. We make a circle/oval with our chairs. We pass around a random item, mostly SpongeBob SquarePants. We learn about being a S.T.A.R learner. That’s all we did.

I Think Wonder could be about a person because there is a person on the cover. I also think it is also about wondering using your eye, because there is an eye and the title is on the eye. Maybe the person is sad because the eye is blue, because something bad might have happened that made her/him upset. Maybe one ear is bad at hearing that’s why it’s smaller.

When I get stressed out by my sisters, cousins and people in the school, I take a deep breath, walk away, don’t listen, calm down, be quiet and try to stop a fight. This is some of the strategies I use when I get stressed. Some other things like when I get mad at my sister’s I will be quiet, close my ears and walk away. When I get mad at my cousins I walk away, stop playing with them and tell them to stop. When I get mad at a person at the school I walk away, say stop bothering me and tell a super visor. These are the things I do when I get stressed. thanks for reading.
