It’s BLOG time!

Div. 4, we’ve loaded your names onto the district blog site and you now have the ability to post your work to your own, personal blog (which is housed in LANAWAY’S LOUNGE).

Parents: please remember students are not to use their full names or post pictures of themselves. I ask that you do the same (when commenting). But don’t panic! — I must read and publish all posts and comments before they go live (before they can be seen by the you, the public). Check our Blogging Guidelines for more on this.

This blog site is a tool for students to improve their personal writing skills. We invite you to join in our enthusiasm. So please READ OUR BLOG, and feel free to leave comments.

Enjoy! happy-blogging

Building our Four Agreements!

Div 4 is beginning to look at what kind of learning community do we want to be. To start, we discussed what we need to feel safe and trusting in a group (see our brainstorm below). Following that we discussed what makes an ideal classroom – what kind of behaviours would make this the ideal classroom?

Some common themes are coming up!

  • inclusion
  • being helpful, caring, and kind
  • being self-aware
  • avoiding aggressive behaviour
  • listening to each other
  • being a good friend (sticking up for one another, staying loyal, giving good advice).
  • And let’s not forget the GOLDEN RULE: Do unto others as you would have done to you.

Well done, Div. 4!! We’re off to a great start!! 🙂

what you like about the free write/blog 12

Blog 12

I like sitting in the sun and writing about sound it was so peace full and no one was bugging me and it was fun when I was listening to the bird chirping and the wind in my face. The teacher was talking about what we herd and I had lots of thing on my echo journal like wind hitting the trees and the sky train clicking on the track and the screaming on the playground. I like how I was sitting on the rock it was a bit comfy.

What I like about sound mapping and free writes in the park is the fact

that it’s so quiet  and makes me feel a bit eerie. It might sound weird to

you, but to me, it doesn’t because I like the feeling of not knowing

what’s going to happen, like the sound of quietness makes me think that

something is going to pop out of nowhere and scare me and I really like

the feeling of suspension. Another reason why I like sound mapping is

because I can concentrate on the things I am working on without my

friends talking to me or interrupting my work time and that makes me

lose the thoughts in my head and then I can’t do my homework at all.

Free writes and Sound mapping may be boring, but it makes for a

peaceful day in the park.

What I like about sound mapping and free writes in the park is sitting outside and relaxing. I like because it calm me down and I can also hear nature sound’s and busy sounds. The other reason why I like about sound mapping is seeing nature things and also buildings that I never seen. The other reason what I like about sound mapping is I can interact with insects and also learn about nature that I never heard. It makes me concentrate more and do my homework in time instead of me talking to my friends and not finishing my homework in time. And those are some good reason why I like about sound mapping and free writes.

OUR CLAY TILES ARE DONE!

And they look fantastic! I’m so pleased with the work of Div. 3 artists! Take a look!

Consider…what colours stand out to you? Do you have favourite colour combinations? Do you prefer the naturescapes or are you partial to the creative designs of the Zentangle-inspired tiles?

We all have different sensibilities when it comes to art. There is no right or wrong, just what engages us, makes us think or feel something, or maybe it is simply aesthetic. One thing is for sure – this diversity of artistic expression makes us RICH!

Blog #11 What I’m Proud of this Term (Term 3)

This term (Term 3)
I’m Proud of is P.E.
In P.E. we did a bit of dodgeball, one day of hockey, basketball, circuit training, softball, I’m proud of all of these cause I got pumped up when I do it and it’s really fun.
I’s also proud of math cause I get lots of work done, we play card and build card towers.
I’m also proud of science because I had fun doing the power point project.
That’s what I was proud of in Term 3.
