August deserved the William Beecher Ward medal because the medal is about a person had courage to stand to self and showed the kindness, and August just showed it through the whole book. When Julian saw August the first time, he absolutely seemed rude to August. But August don’t care about how Julian did to him. When Julian E-mailed to August to apologise, August forgive him, too.

Just like the book says before, it doesn’t matter what you looks like! And I remember a sentence: treat them the way you want to be treated, even though the other people was rude to August, August was still nice to them, and when August lost his hear ring, while he is really sad, but Jack and the other people call him “little dude” and making jokes to make him happy.

Stand up to self and show the kindness, that is all we had to do.
