Month: March 2018

Does reading make you smarter?

Bardya commented to my previous Battle of the Books post (below), “Another month of constant reading!”. I did not miss the sarcasm there! But I also wanted to say, “You’re welcome!“, because I know that reading builds intelligence! Bardya, you can thank me later! In the meantime, here are two blog posts I found on the topic. Please pick one and write a BLOG RESPONSE to the article. I also will be asking some comprehension questions later. You can thank, Bardya, for that one!

Battle of the Books coming up!

Battle of the Books has begun. Visit the Language Arts page for more info… First Round Battle is April 3-6th.

**Two new assignments have been put into the Google Classroom. One assignment is due April 6 and the next is April 20th. You will want to get started on this right away, as the first one is a larger assignment and will take some time.

Term 3 has begun…

… and Spring Break is just around the corner!

In Science, two new projects for T3 have been assigned. The WONDER question is due Tue (Apr3) and the group EXTINCTION project is due Thur (Apr5). One is a group project, please make sure you have a plan with your group, know what your responsibilities are, and are able to communicate through Spring Break if need be. If you go to the Science page, you will find the assignment and useful sites posted there.

Parents/guardian: students have been working hard to complete their blogs, writing assignments, and T2 reflections. These can be found in their “BLOGFOLIOS”, accessed on this site. (Go to tab “blogfolio” and find your child’s name/box). You have been given a sign-in and password, which you should have personalized. If you need help, your child should be able to help you, otherwise, feel free to contact me.
