Blog #10 – Why I Think That Auggie Deserved the Henry Ward Beecher Award

I think that Auggie Pullman deserved the Henry Ward Beecher Award because he is always so nice to his friends, even when they have not been nice to him (ex. When Julian sent Auggie the nasty notes and when Jack was talking trash about Auggie) Auggie still didn’t say anything bad about them or anything like that.

Auggie is also extremely friendly and has a heart of gold which makes up for the way his face looks. Not only that, but Auggie also tries really hard to lift people’s hearts up and to make new friends. Auggie is also helpful (when he helped Jack with his homework) and if you want someone who is nice, smart, friendly, and helpful, you won’t find anyone who is better for the job.

Auggie has taught many people a lesson and made a lot of people’s life’s better which is why I think that Auggie deserved this award.

Better security for schools/world

Hello my name is Brian and I’m here to talk about safety

Reason: because a long time ago there was a break in from broken window

Example: first time I was in this classroom (Ms.Lanaway’s class) I saw broken window and wood covering it

2nd reason: the whole world has a lot of break ins. And I don’t like it.

2nd example: my mom’s car got broken in 3 times one underground at my apartment in the visitor parking, one above and, another underground in my apartment in visitor parking

Loonie Swims are upon us!

Next week, we start our Loonie Swims. Please remember, if you choose not to participate you will need to come prepared to work on school-related work. Students may be given something “extra” to work on.  If you plan on participating, please be sure to submit your yellow permission form and $3 total for the three swims (they’re $1 each). Swims are June 6, 7, and 19th.

ePortfolios are ready!

We’re ready! Students have been considering their strengths and areas of improvement! Please view their reflections of their “CORE COMPETENCIES” in their ePortfolios.

Parents/guardians: you provided the district with your email address and we have now provided you with a username and password so that you can login and view your child’s work. Please support your child’s learning by viewing their portfolio together and giving feedback. Please ask your child for your username/password if they haven’t given it to you yet.
