Blog: #5 Halloween

When I go trick or treating I always hear a deafening sound of fireworks like it is Canada day! I see lots of scary costumes. At first I thought my costume was scary because I accidentally poured juice on my penguin costume and it looked like blood. But then I realised it didn’t really look cool. My sister started lecturing my about how my costume was for babies, But I really couldn’t take her seriously because she was wearing a “My little pony,” onesie. I see lots of horrifying costumes in Halloween, but the most petrifying thing I saw was a clown. The clown was covered in blood with ripped places throughout his body, He was also holding a machete. The clown Started chasing me and my sister and I swear, my life flashed before my eyes, it was so scary that I peed myself just a little. It turned out the guy in the petrifying costume was just returning my sisters Samsung phone that she dropped. I was so relieved when the clown stopped chasing us, it felt like a hard rock was lifted off my shoulders.

I could always smell the candy/chocolate from a mile away. That smell is always the most satisfying smell ever. Whenever I go into a haunted house there is always a bowl that says to reach into it. It feels very weird and slimy, it is like seaweed and mud combined, and it just makes for a very unpleasant experience!

Blog#6 What does Mr.Brown’s October Precept means to August?

I think that August thinks the October precept is important is because he think doesn’t care what someone looks like. He someone’s actions are more important. This is because August’s face doesn’t like all the kids, and in his life, he is a very good kids but some kids don’t want to be friend with him because his face. When is Halloween he very happy is because no one will know he is August because he is wearing a mask. At first time he went to school, he met three kids.

Blog#5 Halloween Story

I like Halloween because I get to stay up late and eat candy!

I usually go with my friends or my dad, my sister sometimes takes me to her neighbourhood to go trick or treating. This very cold year I’m going as a Poke-Mon! One night it was as cold as winter snow at night I knocked on one door and the door flew open! I was as scared as a cat is to water I ran before I said hello, I got home and the candy I earned from that painfully long night was worth it. The candy tasted so good like warm chips in the summer. Rewind before I ran away I ran into a real spider web! It felt like a fishing line!! I did not like the feeling I hated it to be exact! There was a real spider in the spider web! I saw it fall to the ground like rain. That was probably the most crazy Halloween ever!

Blog#5 About Halloween

I like Halloween. First it is so much fun and at night time people treat you by giving you delicious candy. Someone might trick you, but after they will still give you candy. In class, we will make a scary pumpkin and bring it home. Maybe, we will watch a movie! So I like Halloween a lot. Also we are going to the haunted house. When we get candy I will share it with my family and friends. I still remember on the night of Halloween, kids screaming and shouting. But they all said “treat or trick’’ to get candy, and I smelled the blood it was made of sugars. I could also smell smoke from the fireworks and a little bad smell from someone’s house. And I can smell the delicious candy from my candy bag. And I also saw some people wearing a creepy costumes like a bloody vampire.

Blog#5: Halloween Night

It was night, not knowing what time it was, probably around 7:00. I glared out the car window, seeing the dark eerie night. Only the lampposts and car nights as our source for light. We got out of the car, approaching a neighbourhood that I’m not familiar with. I was very tired, so I wasn’t very optimistic about trick-or-treating. The scent of sugary sweets filled the air, excited screams of children filled up the area, waiting impatiently to get their mouth stuffed with candy. I didn’t care that much about the loud screams. I began to walk down the path with my group of friends and families, in my costume. I guess I was wearing some sort of raccoon costume. A dark black dress with grey fur at the hem, with a matching tail, fluffy like a sheep’s wool. On the top of that, I got a raccoon hat with little ears.

We walked down the side-walks of the neighbourhood as a group. Each house is decorated with varieties of spooky glowing pumpkin, sparkling lights and hanging pictures of skeletons, ghosts and zombies. Most of the houses contains a sweet treat for the excited children, the other houses were closed and the people living inside it just went to bed. We arrived at the first house to go trick-or-treat.

The first house was decorated in an array of orange and black lights as if the house was a Christmas tree. It looked kind of odd with the bright white house paint. I assume it has a second floor, it was quite tall for a one floor. I don’t know why, coldness just swept over me. Maybe it’s the wind, after all it’s night. I pressed the doorbell. It was a cold, flat silver surface. A man with a skeleton mask opened the door. He took of the mask and grinned. He took out a bright orange pumpkin bucket, which contains an array of snickers, smarties, m&ms and other things. He told us to grab 2 types on candy. I chose the smarties and lollipop. He closed the door and we just continued walking to the next house.

In the end, back at our house, we ended up getting around 100 candy. A sweet aroma filled the room, chocolate, caramel  and other assortment of scents of sugary treats. My bag look like a pot of rainbow soup, ready to be eaten. I put my hand inside, all I felt is wrappers.

Blog #5: on Halloween Night

On Halloween night, I hear the sound of little kids saying “Trick or treat!” and sometimes the piercing screams when they got scared by the adults. It was a pitch black night and the stars were shining bright, like beacons in the night. The sweet smell of caramel, chocolates and other sweet treats wafting through the air. The children laughing when they saw each other’s bright, flashy costumes. The houses were glowing with all the bright lights and jack o ‘lanterns smiling evil grins. Cobwebs and fake spiders and skeletons lying on yards and hanging on webs. People popping out of trapdoors and holes and scaring others. This is what happens on Halloween night.

Blog #5 Halloween

Last year when I went trick or treating at a Halloween night. It was a cold night, where the leaves where flying like birds from the cold wind. I went to this first house they had a lot of pumpkins. They carved it very well most of them were happy and angry but there were two pumpkins right in there front door. They were evil pumpkins. So I step forwards and pressed the doorbell I was excited for my first few candies. He came out the door and I said “Trick or Treat!” so he gave me like eight pieces of candy after that I said thank you but when I said that he interrupted me and ask “do you want a mask or a scythe” I chose the scythe because if I chose the mask I would scare my sister and I don’t want that to happen, that’s why I chose the scythe. So that was my most memorable moment last Halloween.

Blog#5: Halloween Night

Tonight is the night that all the kids have been waiting for. The sweet smell of all different kinds of candies fill the air. Little children running around the dark street, passing terrifying decorations fill their front yard, knocking on stranger’s doors, giving them free candy. You know how parents always say. “Don’t take candy from strangers?” Yeah, well there’s a holiday all about it.

As my friend Theresa, my little brother Nicco, my mom, Theresa’s mom and I walk down the rough sidewalk. We walk past houses, with more Halloween decorations we could ever afford. Theresa’s mom drives us on top of a hill, where rich people live. People go to them every year. The gate was wide open. There were lights and cameras all over the front gate. When we got to the front door, they were giving away caramel apples with sprinkled M&Ms on top of it like colourful pebbles. After we got our apples, we stayed outside for a bit and watched zombies and ghosts walk pass us.

As we drive on the dark road, hunting for more candy to fill our little bags, we find a big house that the front was under construction. Only the front though, there were piles of dirt on the front yard. My parents told us to walk up there. Theresa, Nicco and I were too focused to find more candy to even care! The steps to the door were unstable. We knocked on the door and a girl that looked like she was in her 20s. “TRICK OR TREAT!” we yelled. “Oh! Sorry I wasn’t expecting anyone tonight.” We stood there for roughly 5 seconds. “Hold on, I think I have something.” She slammed the door in our faces and came back with Christmas chocolate. We looked at each other, puzzled. We walk away with our bags filled, and shared them with our parents.

BLOG#5 HALOWEEN NIGHT

One day Before Halloween Night mom, Suri and I went to by my costume for Halloween right after school. I was so excited when mom, Suri and I went to buy my costume, Suri and I  saw this store called BUY COSTUMES only children’s sides “I was like mom that is the perfect store to go buy my costume and it even says children’s sides only” Suri laugh. At that night I invite Suri to sleep over, we watch lots of scary movies and we prepare or costumes for HALLOWEEN NIGHT. After we woke up we dress up and my mom even paint our faces we looked so scary and funny that me and my friend couldn’t stop laughing we. We had waffles for breakfast it was so yummy that we ate about 4 of them, they tasted as good as ice cream. My mom called Suri’s mom if she wanted to spend the night together while we were away.  Suri and I were so excited to go that we wait on the door for 30 minutes while my dad was getting ready to. Suri and I grabbed our buckets to get candy’ Suri looked my costume and she said it was very spooky, I told her that hers was sooky too. At 7:00 pm we went out and saw lots of different costumes like dolls, clowns, and star war costumes and of Corse many more.ME and Suri got lots of candy, Suri and I smell popcorn did not know why. We knock in lots of doors to get candy they were so yummy just like the waffles that we had for breakfast. We heard lots of ring bells, screaming and people talking or saying trick or treat it got pretty annoying for me but I still did not get used to it. After we got home we were so tired and at my dreams I hear lots of trick or treat.

Blog#5 Halloween Night

It was 5:40 and I started to get ready for the scariest night of the year: Halloween. At 7 o’clock, I was already driving to the scariest neighbourhood in the Lower Mainland: Burkeville. When I got there, I could hear screams as loud as when a baby is born. I felt like my ear drums were going to explode. I arrived at the first house and I could see the lights flashing on and off. I was so scared until I heard a movie starting and I also could smell popcorn from the wooden stairs close to the door. I finally knocked it and this really nice lady came out. She was wearing a light-pink dress and a grey leather jacket. While smiling, she dropped many candies, chocolate bars, and lollipops in my pumpkin bucket and I could feel it getting heavier as she poured them in. Next to that place, there was another house that looked like it was abandoned years ago, it was old and dirty. There were newspapers from past weeks and people had scrawled graffiti all over the walls. Also, I could see fear in the kid’s faces, their eyes were wide-opened while they walked by the cracked side walk. Their heads would turn and I was sure it wasn’t a good sign. But I’m always up to a challenge, so I quickly ran to the fence but slowed down suddenly when I heard a whisper calling my name. That didn’t stop me going forward. After opening the little walk gate, I started tiptoeing down the cement garden walkway. The garden was made of frozen flowers that would chip if you touched them, and the floor was covered of dried, putrid-smelling grass and dead leaves that fell from the only tree in front of the house. There was fog up to my knees and I felt breeze against my face. All of a sudden, I heard a howl from the dog in the graveyard about 3 blocks away, and a raven looking down at me from that big creepy tree. I glimpsed a figure on the side window. I slowly turned my head and I saw a lady with white-coloured eyes and black hair that was and shedding tears. But, the weird thing was that I only saw her for about 7 seconds and she just went away. When I saw that this happened, I quickly called 9-1-1 and ran away. Two weeks later, I was reading the newspaper and the front page was about a women called Amanda Collinwood that lived on that strange house on Burkeville for a very long time. The article said that after the police received an anonymous call, they found her dead body. There are still no suspects but there is an ongoing investigation because there were many blood stains on the floor and walls. I’m just glad I made that phone call and set Amanda free. By calling the police and finding her body, her spirit could rest in peace.
