It’s Auggies first time going to this new school and meeting two new teachers and three odd students. Who wouldn’t be scared? August also has a facial deformity that makes him feel uncomfortable around other adults and kids. It also gives him a hard time making friends.

When August gets to his new school with his mom, he meets the Principal Mr.Tushman, and the Vice Principal. Later on Mr.Tushman introduces three students that will be in the same homeroom as August.

As they give Auggie a tour around the school, Auggie barely even looks up at them and he notices that one of them acts as if he doesn’t like Auggie.

I think Auggie has this laugh/crying felling because he is very sensitive. He cares what other people think! He doesn’t want other people to see him cry so he feels the urge to force a laugh.

So this is why I think that August has this laugh/crying feeling.

I think August is almost cry, but also want to laugh. Because he still scared of school, he is complete sad for sure.

But Jack is friendly, he make funny jokes to him that make August laugh. He turned sad to laughing.

I think why he’s feeling nervous about school is because he’s scared of what others will think of him because of his face and surgeries, his other feeling is scared because he might be scared of getting bullied for how he looks like. Auggie’s laugh/cry feeling was when Julian said what’s the point of your face is where u like in a fire or something, his feelings got hurt and he felt like crying but he wanted to laugh at the same time, but why? Maybe it hurt him but he didn’t want to cry because he found it embarrassing to cry in front of them so he had this feeling he should just let it slide and not care about what others think.

He was felling sad/laugh/cry and mad because MR.Tushman have 3 students they name is Jack, Julian and Charlotte, next Auggie comes to his new school and Mr.Tushman tell his students to tell Auggie about school but Julian was says bad word Jack say it’s ok and he said Julian is a jerk so I think it make Auggie a little bit cry / laugh and mad.

I think Auggie was feeling a little down because maybe he didn’t want anyone to know he was sad or he just didn’t know to be sad, mad or he was just pretending he didn’t know. He wants to go to his first school because he’s just trying it out for the first time.
