Brian has demonstrated his motivation to survive in three ways. The first way that has Brian demonstrated his motivation was by making a shelter. He sat under the tree and thought back 2 years to when he and terry had been fooling around in the park. They pretended that they were lost in the woods. Of course they would have all these things like a gun, a knife, fishing gear, and some matches. Brian didn’t have those things but what else could he do? He remembered that in the park they decided that the best shelter would be a lean-to, he had to build a lean-to. He walked down to the lake where he could find some supplies. He saw some willows he could cut down and use as braces. Then he realized that he would have to find a place to build his shelter. It couldn’t be far from the lake, he thought. Brian looked around and that’s when saw the stone ridge. He walked over there and that’s where he found the perfect place to build his shelter! It wasn’t easy to make a lean-to, it took him a long time and it was tiring work. Now he had a perfect shelter where it was nice and cool, with a roof that could protect him from the rain.

The second way was by looking for food. Brian woke up with an explosion in his stomach, he had eaten to much gut cherries last night and had swallowed the pits with them. He was hungry, so he set out to look for food. He walked past the gut cherry bushes and almost stopped by to eat some more, but then he thought back to what had happened in the morning and chose not to. Brian kept on walking and he found some raspberries! Soon he started picking and eating, but after a few minutes he heard a sound. Then he turned around to see what was happening and that’s when he saw the bear. He stared at the bear it was black and big. It picked a few berries then left. After it had left Brian ran as fast as he could back to his lean-to. He sat in his lean-to and couldn’t help but think about what the bear was doing. The bear didn’t want to eat you, he thought, if it had wanted you it would’ve come for you. He turned around and walked back to the berry bushes, the bear was gone and it looked like there was nothing that could hurt him. Soon he was stuffed with berries and had decided to pick some to save. Brian wouldn’t have gone out and looked for berries if he wasn’t motivated, he wouldn’t have gone back to the berry bushes after the bear incident if he wasn’t motivated!

So far, the best way that Brian has demonstrated his motivation was by making fire. A porcupine had come to visit at night and Brian swung his hatchet at it, missed and hit the rock. When he had hit the rock it showered down sparks. But sparks wouldn’t just turn into fire. He had to have some kind of place for the sparks to ignite. A ball of tinder or some kindling. He walked down to the lake and saw a birch tree there were some tiny tendrils peeling off of it. That was it! Brian had to collect enough of the tendrils to make a ball of tinder. Plucking and gathering, soon he had a ball of tinder the size of a grapefruit. He used the tendrils and tried but it didn’t work. The material had to be thinner and finer he thought. He used his hatchet to cut the bark into thin slivers. It was tiring, painstaking work that took him 2 hours to finish. Finally he had a big ball of fluff. He swung his hatchet at the rock, sparks showered down but disappeared after they met the tinder. Nope, that didn’t work what else did he have to do to start a fire that he didn’t do? Brian thought back to school, that’s it! He had to blow on it to start the fire. He tried again and right when the sparks met the tinder ball he blew quickly, too hard the sparks disappeared. He tried again this time too light. At last he blew it just right, and the sparks moved and grew into a fire! As you can see Brian is truly motivated!

Repost- How did Brian get motivated

Brian has demonstrated his motivation to survive in the large Canadian forests by doing a few things. Such as finding berries, making a shelter and making new “friends”.

Brian went far really far away from the lake to find something to eat. Berries.

Brian had a strange dream about his father talking to him. But Brian couldn’t hear anything that his dad said to him. And at the end of Brian’s dream He heard an M sound. So Brian woke up and decided to make a shelter, his new home.

The city boy got attacked by a porcupine, Brian could not hold the pain, so he threw the hatchet away and it hit the wall really hard making sparks some sparks. When Brian saw the sparks he thought of this: if I could make more sparks, I can make fire and the fire is going to give me protection. In other words, Brian is going to be safe. Then he used many ways to make the fire that he wanted, but he failed, he used wood, leaves branches but he still failed. So he putted his hand on his pocket and he found a 20 dollar bill, and he tried to make fire with it, he hit the wall with his hatchet as strong as he could and then sparks came out and fell on the 20 dollar bill, making fire, then Brian fed the hungry fire with wood and leaves because he didn’t want to lose it. Brian was so happy that he called the fire a “friend”.

Those were the ways that Brian used to survive, Brian got motivated.

Brian demonstrated motivation to survive in 3 ways. Brian could not make fire with his hatchet so he got motivated and grab stuff and cut the wood and used grass and made the sparks and went on the fire place and made fire and he blows on it and the flames got bigger and so he was worm.
When the plane crash into the water he was in the water trying to swim he never give up and kept swimming and got out of the water and fell asleep on the land.

This is how Brian showed motivation. Brian was motivated by getting up and searching for a good place to build his lean-to. Once he found a good place to put his lean-to, he walked in the forest and got wood for his lean-to. Brian also demonstrated motivation by wondering in the forest and trying to fine food. Brian found cherries, but they were bad so he had diarrhea. He was still hungry so he went back, but didn’t pick the gut cherries and went father, and found raspberries. When brian was sleeping and was disturbed by a porcupine. He tried throwing his hatchet at the porcupine but missed and hit the stone wall. When the hatchet hit the wall it showered with sparks. Then the porcupine stabbed his leg. Once he woke up and remembered the sparks, he tried throwing the hatchet at the wall and saw sparks. So he went to the forest and got tinderly materials such as wood. Brian showed a lot of motivation since he crashed landed on the lake.

How did Brian get motivated.

Blog #3 How did Brian demonstrated his motivation to survive?

Brian remembered Mr. Perpich said to get motivated. Can his motivation help Brian to survive? Brian’s motivation helped him make a lean-to for shelter. When Brian decided he was making a lean-to, he looked for wood, leaves and braces to hold the lean-to. And he looked for a perfect place where he was going to build the lean-to. Brian was also very hungry and he looked everywhere to find some food to eat. Luckily Brian’s motivation helped him find some delicious juicy raspberries. When Brian tried to make a fire, Brian used his hatchet to make sparks. And he created a ball of fluff, he also used it for the fire, after hours and hours of Brian struggling to make a fire and finally I have succeeded. After all, Brian is the best survivor who have ever lived because of his motivation.

Blog post #3 How has Brian showed his motivation to survive

Brian shows his motivation to survive in wilderness in 3 ways. Brian builds a lean-to shelter so he can protect himself from rain and mosquitos. Brian needs food so he can survive and have energy, Brian finds gut cherries but they give him stomach problems so Brian searchers for something else to eat. Brian finds delicious and sweet raspberries. Also Brian needs fire, Brian finds by scraping hatchet from the wall and getting wood and tinder so he can make place where fire will burn longer and keep him always warm and make mosquitos go away. Brian needs fire signs so people who are searching for him from above can find him easier and take him out of the jungle as fast as they can. Those were the 3 things Brian used to show his motivation to survive.

The motivation

There are three ways Brian demonstrated his motivation to survive in the forest. First, he built a lean-to to protect himself from the rain, cold, mosquitos, and hot sun so he slept in the lean-to. He built a lean-to with sticks, and dried grass near the lake because they might find him. Second, he started to looks for the berries to stay healthy. First he found some gut berries because the birds were eating so he knew that it’s not poison. And he eat it and he puked after he ate gut berries. And he found some raspberries and it taste way better than the gut berries. Finally, he saw a spark fly from his hatchet when it hit the rock. And he realized that he could make a fire. He used kindling as rocks, dried grass, twigs, and sticks.so he made a fire. This helped Brian stay warm, safe, and now he could cook food as fish. Brian know that if he doesn’t stay motivated he couldn’t do all of these things
