Brian is fulfilling his habitat requirements by…

Building a lean-to and making a fire with his hatchet witch will provide him with protection, warmth, and light. Brian got food by finding berries, eating raw fish, finding and eating raw turtle eggs. Brian has water from the lake but every-time he drinks it he feels sick and throws up. His shelter is a scooped out cave, he built a lean-to by cutting willows with his hatchet. His shelter protects him from weather like rain, and wind. Also from predators like a porcupine. Water decreases his thirst but with bad side effects. Food makes Brian stronger and energizes him. Brian is in tune with nature by hearing and seeing everything around him, he’s noticing his sorroundings. Brian is using his senses for protection so he can hunt and not be the hunted. Brian can boil his water so he can not feel sick.

Blog #4 Habitat

Habitat is food, shelter, water and space.

Brian is eating berries, and raw turtle eggs . He is trying to (take) catch fish but he cannot catch them.

Brian is drinking water from the lake.Brian is sick when he drinks the water.

Brian is in the forest and have animals like a bear trying to attack Brian.

Brian have fire

Habitat

Since Brian’s plane crashed in the lake, he needed to survive in a new habitat. First, he tried to catch a fish with his hand but it didn’t work. And he made a spear but it didn’t work because it wasn’t faster than a fish. And he made a bow to catch a fish. Second he saw turtle egg in the hole. First try it taste.  Second try it taste a bit better. Last try it taste good. Finally, he found a ridge to build a shelter. He used his hatchet to cut woods to build a lean-to. It was hard work but he feel great because he has his own space. Brian is in-tune with nature. He is thinking of his teacher’s teaching and he is now use to eat berries, food, build. And he is using his senses and noticing more.

habitat

Brian is changing he is becoming more in tune with nature, and is fulfilling his habitat requirements. We all need food and water to survive, and so does Brian. He has found berries, turtle eggs, and is still trying to catch fish and birds. Brian has to eat the turtle eggs raw, but now that he has fire, if he catches fish or birds he would be able to can cook them. Drinking lake water can be a problem too, Brian has gotten sick and threw up all of the water he drank because he didn’t boil it. Finding shelter wasn’t a big problem for Brian. All he did was walk around the lake and at the end of a ridge he finds a cave like place where he builds his lean-to. His lean-to had a rock face as the roof and that was good because that could protect him from rain, sun and wind. You would also need a fire to survive and it took Brian a long time to make one but in the end he still had a fire. Fire gave him warmth, protection safety, and a peace of mind. Brian starts noticing the space around him, where he lives, his habitat. He lived in a forest in the Canadian woods alone. But where he lived had a beautiful scenery, from his lean-to you could see the lake, the tall trees, and some berry bushes it was amazing. If you were in a life or death situation, you would start noticing the space around you and you would become more in tune with nature. If Brian would hear a sound a sound, he wouldn’t just hear it he would know what was making the sound without even looking at it. As you can see by changing the way he thinks the way he sees things he might have a chance to survive!

FUN!!!

Here at williams lake is super fun i am here with tons of friends, they’re nice, helpful, kind, yeah just it is like they know about the star learner stuff, but they don’t. Isn’t that weird. the teachings of Perpich repost

What Mr. Perpich meant by “you are the best thing you have is that you will always have yourself. You can use yourself to do all sorts of things. Sometimes you don’t need other tools to do things. You need your hands to eat, or write, and defend yourself from danger and some other things. You need to be able to have physical abilities to do things that other people can’t do, if you have physical abilities. To be positive and have good thinking is to not worry that you can’t do something that you want to do but instead you should believe that you can do anything if you try. If you don’t have positive thinking then you might not be able to do anything, that is what can help Brian if he is stranded in a forest.

Brian demonstrated how to get, shelter, food and fire

Brian found shelter (as in lean-to) by walking a little far away of the lake.
Brian also fixed the shelter a little bit.
Second Brian found gut berries by looking around the bushes, after a few minutes he found
raspberries.
When Brian was picking raspberries, Brian saw a bear, the bear was near to Brian, but Brian was
okay.
The bear was picking raspberries too.
Third Brian was sleeping with his hatchet, Brian woke up because he got poked by a thousand
nedals, so Brian threw his hatchet to the rock/stone and it made sparks.
It gave Brian an idea, the next day he made fire.
It took a while to make the fire.
This took a lot of hard work for Brian to find shelter, food and to make fire.
It took so many tries for Brian to make fire.

Brian built a lean-to for protection, Brian built the lean-to by cutting willows bringing it back to his little scooped out cave and leaning it for shelter. Then he made a fire by: ripping his money into little pieces and making sparks by thrusting his hatchet on a stone wall. Brian was also energized by Perpich by finding food by looking for berries in bushes he also found about 19 turtle eggs and eating them all Brian, also built a spear to get a fish. Brian also used his hatchet by throwing it a porcupine for protection when he meets a unexpected guest by his little cave.

Brian was motivated in several ways when he remembered what Mr. Perpich saying. Blog # 3

Brian was motivated to make a lean-to as a shelter.Because he nowhere to sleep,to stay warm and to survive from mosquito. Brian build the lean-to by using pieces of wood to brace the shelter. Another thing that Brian got motivated is making fire. He tried many things. But first he tried to making sparks he used tinder and kindling but it didn’t work. After Brian found a porcupine he threw his hatchet to the porcupine but he miss and hit the rocks and make sparks. Brian saw a barks from a tree and it didn’t work. He think back to his science class and remembered that fire need oxygen and to thrive. Brian blow on it and after he adjusting the strength of his blow the sparks burst into a flame. And he also put more kindling and made fire.Brian was motivated by finding food by seeking out and compares the customary facility. Brian saw an unfamiliar red berries he taste it and taste very bitter. Brian had no choice he eat them until the pangs of hunger subside. Dose are three things that Brian got motivated by Mr. Perpich saying.

Motivation is key Blog #3

There are three ways that Brian showed motivation to survive. First, right after the plane crash Brian rested a while, but right after he started looking for a place to build his shelter. Then he finds a ridge he could’ve just built his shelter there, but he thought it was a better idea to go over the ridge and check. He found a small dent in the ridge and decided to build his shelter there. Even after he found the shelter he toke two hours to weave a door for his door he could’ve just threw sticks and grass for the door.

Second, Brian was trying so hard to find food when he could barely walk and he was fatigued from the hunger. Also after he found the gut cherries he knew they weren’t good enough so he kept going to find something better. The second time he found raspberries, but he saw a bear. So he ran for a while until he realized that the bear wasn’t trying to hurt him. The next day he knew he had to go back for food otherwise he would starve to death.

Lastly, he tried so hard to build a fire he first just tried smashing the hatchet into the wall it made sparks, but it wasn’t enough to make a fire so he ripped up his twenty dollar bill and tried but it wasn’t soft enough. Then he went outside and ripped balls of tendrils and then tried but it still didn’t work so he thought back to school and remembered that fire needed oxygen. So he blew on the sparks to make the fire and burned. He was so exited he threw the twigs and leaves into the fire and ran outside for wood. He repeated the process for a while and then he started treating it as a friend and tried so hard to keep it alive. He even woke up in the middle of the night to keep the fire going. These are just some of the ways that he showed motivation to survive there are still lots of other ways he showed motivation.
