Gabriel’s pale eyes could maybe mean that he is somehow related to Jonas. I predict that because in The Giver it is rare to have different coloured eyes then the rest of the people, or maybe Gabriel and Jonas have or come from the same birth mother. Also I think that they have strange abilities or powers because in the book when Jonas threw the apple to his friend he saw the apple change colours and he asked his friend if he saw the apple change colours, but the friend didn’t know what he was talking about and it got me thinking that maybe some people who have a different coloured eye have strange powers or abilities.

I think he lives in the forest most of his live because in the cover there is a forest and an old man. And two or so months he go’s in to the community and gives people what they need to survive in the community. And I think he has no home because the cover shows him and a forest. So I think he live in the forest and never to see the people in the community. He has to give to the people in the community.
My connections for the giver is that it’s a lot like The Hunger Games because they both have a strict community and they have to follow the rules. Also if they don’t follow the rules then something bad happens.
I wouldn’t want to be matched by my community elders for a couple of reasons. One, is the fact that I’ll be living with my wife forever, so I’d want to choose who I’m going to live with. Another reason is that I don’t like girls younger than me. I’d highly prefer a girl that is my age or older by a year or two. Possibly even three. If someone’s younger than me by a couple of months than it’s fine. 2003 is an absolute NO. Anyone born 2003, even if it’s January 1st, No! Why? I really just don’t like girls younger than me. My last reason is that I want a girl at least a little good looking.
Some of the reasons I think it would be good to get matched is no one will be left out without a partner. They would be matched with a person that has the same interests. They would also match them so they would balance weaknesses and strengths. The downfalls about matching is if you did not like them you are stuck with them for your life. It also takes away your freedom to choose if you want to get married or not.
For getting the choice you will have lots of freedom. You will also get lots of choices and you might actually like the person. A downfall is people could get left out.
So overall they are positives and negatives for both so it is pretty much what happens.
two reasons I would want to be matched is because it would save you the anxiety of having to choose your spouse. and another reason is if nobody wants to marry you then you would be desperate. 1 reason I would not want to be matched is because I want that freedom to choose. also I would not want to be matched because what if you don’t like your spouse or your spouse doesn’t like you.
My partner and I were discussing about two good things about getting matched and two things against being matched by the community elders. Two good things about getting matched are
#1 Since the government wants to make a perfect community on one will be living alone for the rest of their lives.
#2 And the community elders chooses for you, so you wont stress out.
Two things against being matched by the community elders are
#1 You have freedom of choice of who you marry.
# 2 And there wont be any divorces happening.

All the eights will be given; a helmet, gloves, knee pads, jill/jock, chest protector, elbow pads, and kidney pads. They will also be suited with black shorts that have the Burnaby lakers box lacrosse logo. The jerseys are green and black. With a big number on the back. And the most important thing of all….. A lacrosse stick. snow white gloves. A neon green head, and black shaft. Now you will be signed up for novice girls/ boys box lacrosse.

At age five all the kids of age will walk up to center stage and receive their very first soccer boots. They may only get the ones that are green on the top and fades into black. And the tongue has black and white stripes. They will also be getting dark grey shin pads and your choice of black or white soccer socks. And last but not least they will be given a soccer ball. This ball is striped with red, green, yellow. black, and red. And the background is white.These lucky fives will now be signed up at U6 level soccer. And will play for any Burnaby club.

At age nine These kids will receive full hockey equipment. Including a jersey ,stick , helmet, and socks.They will be signed up for atom boys or girls hockey. Their choice of Burnaby winter club. Or Burnaby minor. All the nines will also get an extra year of private skating lessons to make sure they have a great start to their first season!

My prediction is the old man will give stuff to others and that he lives in the I think all of this because the man in the cover seems to have a lot of wrinkles and he has a long beard and seems to be a little bald. I think he is going to give stuff to other people because the tittle pf the book is the giver and he will make stuff out of wood and give it to other people I think this because there is a picture of the forest in the cover. I think he lives on the forest because there is a picture of a forest in the cover.
I think Gabriel’s pale eyes might mean Gabriel is related to Jonas because they both have pale eyes. I also think that because Gabriel has different eyes and was raised differently, he may be released.
