Match Maker

I would like to be matched by my community elders because the community elders would understand or know how you act and how your personality would be like, and so then they could figure out who would be a good and better match that will help you with your later life and you could have a good life later on without any complications, and you never know they could know who you love and match you up with your love.

Cover Prediction

I think it’s about an old man that gives peace to people and lives in a forest. I think he has lived in the forest for a long time. I think he is old because he has a beard and wrinkles. The whole cover is divided of the forest and the old man with the wrinkles and beard. I think he gives peace to people because the book is called The Giver and he looks wise.

giver prediction

I predict the giver is about an old man that lives in the woods inside an old house and he would give out gifts to people in the community that he lives near. Because by looking at the cover it basically has the old man on it with a bunch of trees on it also the title is called the giver so I thought maybe he’d give out gifts to people of like wrapped presents or advice. I could tell that he is about 60 or 70 years old because of his long beard and wrinkles. My first impression of the book is that it’s quite boring right now but I’m sure it’s going to get more and more exciting but for now it’s basically just telling about the main character, his family, and what the rules are for the community. Which is great info when starting this book. My connections is to another story called the shadow children series which is when you’re only aloud three children and if you have four then the fourth child has to live in hiding, can’t go outside, make a ton of noise and must stay away from windows so no one suspects anyone else is living at the house besides the mom, dad, and the three children .They become the shadow children so it’s kind of like the giver with the child policy but is way different

Cover Prediction

I predict that the giver lives in the forest and crafts toy, blankets and makes books for children he will never ask for anything in return he does it because he likes to do it because someone did it for him and he gets all the joy when he gets a thank you

giver ceremony

The Ceremony of two

When you’re a two you receive a brand new set of Sippy cups and a crib bed. You also get a larger stroller than your other one will be recycled to make a new one or will be given to another family.(I guess you’d get new Sippy cups, crib bed, and stroller because your still young but your older than before and bigger so you need a replacement of strollers and other things.)
The ceremony of 4
When you’re a four your crib bed gets taken a way and you get an actual bed bigger than your crib bed. You would start to use hair scrunchies to tie your hair back into a ponytail, you’ll also get two dresses.
The ceremony of 5

When your 5 you get a bigger bed with no rails so you don’t fall off, you get new school supplies two pairs of pants a large coat for winter and new mittens also for winter.

The Giver Stirings prediction

I think the stirrings are dreams and imagination. The pills get rid of all dreams and imagination. Because they have such a strict community they want the people to follow the rules. They want people following the rules because they don’t want people going off into their own little worlds and imagine about things. But the community wants everyone to be on task and not imagine

The Match Maker

I wouldn’t liked to be matched by the Elders because they chose who your matched with. here are some idea’s how that Match Making is bad: 1: You wouldn’t be the able to marry the one you want 2: the Elder’s (or some-one else)

The Giver Ceremony

When I am born they would give me a yellow tag indicating I am a kid. When I am 3 I am not being breast fed anymore they teach me how to learn to use a bottle after you get a good grip on using the bottle they give you a special bottle that is red to indicate I am growing up. When I am 6 years old I get a blue tag I am more responsible and they give me a group but no name yet. Once I am 8 I move on to a new group and finally get a name depending on my attitude. When I am 9 I get a video game console an Xbox 360 to be exact you also earn the ability to choose a specific teachers like if you want to dance u can chose a dance teacher if u want a skate board teacher you can choose a skate board teacher. At the age of 12 I get my bicycle/skate board you get to choose plus you’re not a kid anymore there’s a sheet of jobs you get to choose. Maybe you will get a job you want maybe you won’t. For example I am going to list some of the jobs. For Kids of coarse so there’s cadets that’s more of the fun one there delivering the new to the other groups and many more so that’s what my life would be like if I was in a community.
