In my number one ceremony I learned to walk. I was given my first pair of walking shoes and gave up my booties.
When I had my number two ceremony I got a Barbie doll. It was my first doll that I had ever gotten. I loved to play with the doll. It was special to me.
In my number four ceremony I was given a bike. The bike had four wheels and was pink. I fell off the bike a lot but I just kept trying until I could ride it. I was so happy that I could ride my bike.
My ceremony of four I received a book therefor at the age of four I learned how to talk this was a very important year for me because without talking no one could understand me. The first time I murmured and then I say daddy mommy after a while I started to learn more and more.
My ceremony of 5 I received a golden spoon therefore I learned how to eat food this was a very important year for me because without learning how to eat I would die at first my mom cut it up into little bits and gave to me to nibble on after a while she gave me big food
My ceremony of seven I received a bike therefore I would need to learn how to ride a bike it was pretty hard learning but whenever I felI I got back up and tried it again finally I got that hang of it and was fine.
My prediction is that (the giver) is a man that is very old and people think that he is somewhat a god that helps people with their problems.
I imagine that he would live in an abounded place in the forest where no one could find him.
I predict that this book takes place somewhere in the future.
I made this predictions mostly because of the cover of the book, first of all I wrote “he is a very old man”, because of his wrinkles the long old beard + all the white hair he has I also believe that he lives deep in the forest based on the trees in back round.
I’ve seen the movie and read the book before… but let’s give this a try!
I think that the book is based on the old man on the cover. He gives to people so he’s “The Giver”. I think he is “The Giver” because he looks like he does well to people, because he’s older he’s wise, and he lives in the forest that was on the cover. I think the black and white picture represents that it doesn’t matter your skin colour, hair colour, or eye colour, everyone is equal and it should be that way. The colourful forest represents that nature is something that’s very important for everyone in the community.
And that’s my prediction for “The Giver”
I predict that…. Just by looking at the picture on the cover, I think that he looks sad, but kind and generous, he looks old because of his long beard and wrinkles. I can also see the picture of the forest.
I think that the forest might be on fire, or it’s a sunrise/sunset. Maybe this is part of the book? Maybe there was a fire, a really bad fire.
I think maybe he did something bad to harm his community, he was probably sent to the forest for a punishment. He might of lost a loved one (wife, child, sister, brother) and he got mad. I think that he stayed there for a long time, because of how old he is. Maybe he could be making things in the forest, and giving them to people.
He could be “The Giver” because of the way he looks sad and wants to be generous.
In conclusion, I think this is going to be a great book!
So cadets there’s a lot of stress choosing. There’s marksmanship,drill,music,recce,para First Aid. There was I couldn’t decide it was causing me so much stress and I could only choose two all of them are so exiting can’t quit unless you quit cadets all of them are fun but not also that. My friends go to the one I don’t like so it’s either ditch my friends or stay with my friends. I have finally decided I was going to leave my friends but wait that still means I have to choose my cadets training I decided to ask my dad for help he said I should go with music but that’s the one I don’t like and all my friends are going there so I decided to yolo it and go with marksmanship and that how anxiety got to my head but I think I made a good decision: D
(Prediction)
From the cover of the book, I think the story is about an old man who lives in a forest and gives useful things and advices to the people in need. The reason I think the man is old is because on the cover the man has wrinkled face with a long beard. Also I think the man gives stuff to people because of the title ‘The Giver’. But I think he gives presents and advices only on the sunset. I predict this because on the cover of the book there is a picture of sunlight peeking through the woods.
(Connections, Thoughts)
Connections and the thoughts I had when I first saw the cover of the book was a homeless man because in the cover there was an old man and a picture of woods so I thought maybe he lives in the forest because he doesn’t have any money. The title of the book ‘The Giver’ made me think that the old man is very kind and generous and shares his things to the people.
What I think is going to happen In “The Giver” is that the man in the front cover somehow makes a big change by somehow giving peace to other people. He doesn’t have a house; he lives in a forest all by himself. I also think in “The Giver”, has been brought back to life by god, but the only way he can stay immortal is by giving people peace and good to the world.
I think the stirrings are like dreams or emotions and the pills get rid of the dreams, emotions and imagination. Because they are a strict community, I think that they want the community people to take the pills so they don’t imagine having a child by there self without a birthmother and when they imagine or dream of getting a child or when you love someone you have to take the pills to forget about it and loose emotions ,dreams and imagination by taking the pills.

What I learned was the stirrings, the pills, the community, could mean that there are very strict rules. All of these key points means that Jonas is living in a false community.
