In art, we learned that a gradient is the gradual transition from one colour to another. We then created a mosaic art piece using tiny cut-out pieces of paper to form a gradient background that represents the winter sky, transitioning from white to dark blue. Afterward, we added a silhouette of a tree, making our scene feel complete and giving it a sense of depth and atmosphere. It was a fun and creative way to show what we learned!

We have been exchanging letters with our pen pals! It is so exciting to receive their letters and write back to them. We have learned how to write in letter format, including proper greetings and closings, and how to ask and answer questions. We also practiced making our writing clear and engaging. We can’t wait to continue exchanging letters and learning more about our pen pals!

Our class snails have been growing so much! After they hatched from their egg clutch, we put them in the water, and they quickly adjusted to their new environment.

It’s been so fascinating watching them grow! We learned that the snails can actually float on the surface of the water by trapping air in a bubble around their bodies, which helps them stay afloat. When they eat, they float on the surface, enjoying both fish flakes and algae.

We will continue to learn more about them as we observe them every day!
