Pink Shirt Day is Wednesday February 25th. We hope you’ll consider wearing a pink shirt to show support to the victims of bullying.

It’s Literacy Week at Sperling. Expect some special events this week: guest readers, poem in your pocket, dress like a character, drop everything and read and more. Don’t forget to hand in your family literacy bingo cards by Friday.

Our attempt to break a world record was successful. Divisions 5 and 15 at Sperling were some of the 784 086 people all over the world who did cup stacking activities on specific days in November. Click here for more info.

There will be no school on Tuesday in recognition of Remembrance Day. We will have an assembly Monday and please consider making donations for poppies to support our veterans.

Sperling’s annual Pumpkin Patch event is Monday October 27th. Bring a bag to carry home a pumpkin and a mug for hot chocolate.

On Thursday morning Sperling will participate in The Great BC Shakeout, an annual earthquake drill to ensure we know what to do in the event of an earthquake. Families are encouraged to review emergency procedures at home and check their emergency kits as well.

From Wednesday October 8th to Friday October 10th division 5 students will be at Timberline Ranch for our annual grade 6 outdoor school experience. Sperling will be recognizing Orange Shirt Day on Monday with an assembly. Please consider wearing orange to show your support for the victims of residential schools.

On Friday September 13th Sperling will hold its annual Terry Fox Run.  Any donations are much appreciated.

On Tuesday June 25th we will be going to Halifax Park with our buddy class for one last fun final visit. Please dress for the weather.
