Well, we’ve finished our author mini-biographies and are excited to share them. A lot of time was spent researching, writing, and documenting are sources. We hope you enjoy learning about these fascinating authors; we did!

    Judy Blume lives in Key West, Florida. She was born on February 12, 1938. Judy’s favorite color is purple! Judy never dreamed of being a writer, but dreamed of being a ballerina, a detective, or a spy. She was a skinny late developer, but she enjoyed reading, going to the library, and the movies. Judy’s high school was Battin High school. She gets thousands of letters from her readers. She has written twenty-eight books and they are translated into thirty-two different languages. Millions of copies of her books have been sold, with three of them being adult novels. Judy Blume writes her own books, but is also the editor of Places I never Meant To Be. Judy Blume is currently seventy-seven years old, and lives with her husband, with three grown children, and a grandchild.

        I have to agree with you that writing for parents and adults is hard. I like her books because they are funny. I enjoy reading Judy Blume’s Fudge books. I like the Fudge books, because its funny, and the books remind me of my family. Fudge reminds me of my annoying brother.

    Here is the author called Meg Cabot, she wrote 80 published books and they have been sold over 38 countries. She was born in February 1st, 1967 Bloomington Indiana, United. Meg Cabot liked to write stories, when she’s 7 years old she wrote her first story called Benny the Puppy. After, she graduated in fine arts from Indiana University, and want to overcome everyone from dislike reading. After she graduated, she become an illustrator. Then, she got married to a writer and start writing books for adults and children. The important part is she loves to write stories and have fun when writing. Meg Cabot got many awards, like the award of New York Times Bestseller. Also, she won the Evergreen Young Adult Book Award for the book called The Princess Diaries. Plus, she won the Tennessee Volunteer State TASL Book Award. Meg Cabot is really good at writing books and stories, hope you enjoy reading her books too!

    As some of you don’t know Elisabetta Dami is the real author of all the Geronimo Stilton books that people read. Elisabetta was born in 1958 in Milan. Elisabetta started to write stories at the age of 18 and now she is 57 years old. She likes to undertake adventures and travel. She traveled around the whole world at the age of 23. She also travels to find inspiration. She got the idea of writing stories by volunteering at a hospital. Her author life began as being a proof reader at her family publishing house. The first book came out in the 2000 and she won 250 titles in more then 30 languages. She has written more then 100 books and sold 100 million copies in 150 countries. What amazes me is that she is part owner of Pimmes publishing house and she is not even related to Pimme (Pimme is the publisher of the Geronimo Stilton books). I hope you see how exiting Elisabtta Dami is!

  4. Ron Roy – By Kelly

    The mini biography of award winning author Ron Roy. Wallace Ronald Roy was born on April 29, 1940 in Hartford Connecticut. Ron was shy as a kid, he spent most of his time reading and studying nature. He used to always win all the spelling bees. Ron loved school. Ron went to the University of Connecticut. Then after college, he became a fourth grade teacher. He wrote and sent stories to publishing companies but none wanted to buy his stories. Later in 1978 Ron sold his first book, and later quit his job as a teacher and became a full time writer after that. Now millions of children are reading his books. He is now a full time writer, and has won many awards for his book The White Wolf. Now Ron Roy lives with his dog Pal in a yellow house near a forest and pond.

  5. Robert Munsch – By Vicky
    Robert Munsch was born June, 11, 1945, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. He grew up in a family of nine kids. He almost flunked 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. His first book is called “Mortimer.” Robert never listened to his wife, but his wife is a librarian, and she kept on telling him to publish his first book but he never listened. Another book called:” Mud Puddle” sold 3000 copies the first year. In 1999 Robert became a member of the order of Canada. There is even a school in Ontario named after Robert Munsch. Robert Munsch ’s middle name is Norman, so his full name is Robert Norman Munsch. Age 69.

    Patricia Polacco was born on July 11, 1944. Patricia’s parents were divorced and she had to move to Oakland, California with her mom and brother. Every summer Patricia and her brother would go visit their father and live with him for a while. She struggled to learn to read and math was almost impossible for her. Tush (cat) inspired her to write the book Mrs.Katz and Tush. Patricia started writing children’s book when she was 41.Her imagination also inspired her to write. Her writing is also inspired by her rich Russian, Ukrainian, and Irish cultural heritage. Wrote a book about Pysanky eggs called Rechenka’s eggs. She got a parent choice honour for PhD in art history Emphasis on Iconography in 1991, and International reading association award Rechenka’s eggs and for some birthdays in 1997 for video/dream keeper and in 1998 for thank you Mr. Falker. That is the wonderful story about Patricia Polacco.

  7. Jeff Kinney – Nathan and Alan
    This topic is about Jeff Kinney who wrote the amazing Diary of a Wimpy Kid. He started his life in America in February 19, 1971 in Maryland, he grew up in Fort Washington. Jeff Kinney had a hobby of reading books as a kid he read a lot of books such as Judy Blume, Beverly Cleary and J.R.R Tolkien. He attended the University of Maryland in the early 1990’s. The high school name was Bioshop McNamara. The university name was College Park. The university that Jeff Kinney went he generated his first comic strip named Igdoof. It was so popular it went it the newspaper. The success of the comic encouraged Jeff Kinney to become a cartoonist. In New England Jeff Kinney started writing his first Diary of a Wimpy Kid book in 1998.but it published a long time after in 2007. The second book in the series was published in 2008 and got expanded in 2011.Jeff Kinney two books in 2009 and published to the following year. The books names were The Last Straw and Dog Days. In 2010 Ugly truth and the Cabin Fever were made. In 2011 Jeff Kinney managed to copy 42 million copies worldwide. The first Diary of a Wimpy Kid and was released on 20th century on fox.

    Have you ever read Loot or What I Saw and How I Lied by Jude Watson a.k.a. Judy Blundell. Jude Watson was born on February 17, 1938. She was born in Brooklyn, New York. When Jude was a little girl she grew up in Queens. If you didn’t know by my intro Jude’s real name is Judy Blundell. When Jude was a little girl she started hearing voices in her head. Instead of going to a psychiatrist her mom told her to make stories out of the voices. Mrs. Watson always writes a little bit every day. When she is stuck on a sentence or a paragraph she likes to go to the movies. Now Jude lives in Katonah, New York with her husband and daughter. Jude went to collage to become a journalist. The genre of her books are Children, Mystery and Young adults. Jude Watson wrote over 376 books. Her bestselling book is Star Wars: Last of the Jedi Quest books. People nominated Jude for Goodreads Choice Awards Best Middle and Children. Her book What I Saw and How I Lied won the annual National Book Award young people’s literature. So if you like mystery, children or young adult’s books read her books.

    I have been researching the amazing life of Eve Bunting the famous author. On December 19, 1928. Her real name is Anne Evelyn Bunting. Eve bunting grew up in Ireland, then went to the United States. When she was seven she was sent to boarding school, and got a great education. She loved to reading and telling stories as a child. She started to write after moving to Pasadena, California. Mrs. Bunting also took a writing course at Pasadena City College. She wanted to make children think. Now she is a award winner of 150 books. Eve won Caldecott medal, Golden kite medal, and many more. Every book she writes is an experience from her childhood. Right now she lives in Pasadena, California with her husband. She is the age of 86, and a college writing teacher. Plus an amazing Author. Eve is a amazing Author, so pick up one of her books and read.

    I like Kazu’s books and I did a biography about him. He was born at 1978 he lived in Tokyo, Japan. Kazu moved to the United States when he was four. When Kazu got older he worked in an animation studio and he left his job to focus on comics. His drawings were inspired by himself and Kazu decided to do comics. He made Amulet and other graphic novel books. His books are rated 4.5/5 stars.

    This is R.L. Stine’s story. He was born on Oct, 8, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio, U.S. He has 2 siblings. He began writing stories at the age of nine. Using a old type writer he found. His father worked as a shipping clerk in a warehouse. His mother stayed home taking after young Robert and his two siblings. In New York Sine was a writer and a editor. Working Children’s magazines. He even landed a position at Scholastic He created a funny magazine for kids. Bananas in the mid 1970’s. Fear Street grew to include roughly 100 books. Selling more than 80 million copies. Goosebumps soon became a literary phenomenon. As the 1990’s came close, Goosebumps fever began to fade. Hope you like the sound of him as much as I do.

      Like R.L Stine, I wrote my own books, and magazines. I have never read any of Stine’s books, because I am a scaredy cat. I’m not interested in Goosebumps, but I am interested in humerous stories like the funny magazine, and mysteries.

    Kinney is the best-selling author and illustrator of the popular Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. Jeff Kinney was born on February 19th 1971 in Maryland Washington D.C. In 1995 he moved to New England. Jeff Kinney liked books that were written by Judy Blume, Beverley Cleary, and J.R.R. Tolkien. In the 1990’s Jeff Kinney went to the University of Maryland. That is where he ran a comic strip called Igdoof in the campus newspaper. That is also where he decided he wanted to become a cartoonist. Jeff Kinney’s achievements were that he was a game designer, cartoonist, producer, actor and author of children’s books which includes diary of a wimpy kid. Jeff Kinney is a very successful person and lives in Massachusetts with his wife and two sons.

    Robert Munsch was born on June 11, 1945. He went through elementary school without actual education. He went to be a daycare staff. During nap times, he told them bedtime stories. When the daycare he was working at had no money, Robert Munsch had to move to Canada to still work at daycare. His new bosses wife is a children’s librarian and told him to make a book. So Robert Munsch now made a lot of books. Soon he was the
    Canada’s and USA’s best selling author for a while.

    Kazu Kibuishi is a well known author. Kazu was born in 1978. He moved to the United States in 1982. He also use to watch Ultraman. He lived in Tokyo, Japan. His drawings where inspired when he lived there. Kazu started out with a comic strip called Cooper. He wrote the Amulet. Also worked as an animator. He went to the University of Santa Barbara. He earned the YASLA 2006 Best Books for Young Adults Award. He won the Esmier Award. He designed the Harry Potter cover. Kazu Also sold over 10,000 books. He wrote over five books. I recommend Kazu Kibuishi books. they are really awesome!

    Jeff Kinney didn’t have a thought of becoming an author for children. Jeff Kinney was born February 19, 1971 in Maryland. He wanted to be a newspaper cartoonist and never had the thought of becoming a children’s author. Sadly, his comic wasn’t syndicated. In his 90’s. Back to when he was young, he was inspired by one of the books he liked called Judy Blume. Jeff was also motivated by his own family to write and illustrate Diary of a Wimpy Kid. His Diary of a wimpy kid stories sold over 30 million copies globally until 2013. Jeff Kinney was on top of the New York Times best selling author list. The Times Magazine nominated him under 100 most Influential People in the world. He won the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Children’s book award in 2009. Jeff posted the first Diary of a Wimpy Kid on Funbrain.com and it has been visited more than 80 million times till 2013. Many of his accomplishments have been acknowledged by his readers and that’s his greatest accomplishment.

    Ron Roy is a author that Wright Capital mysteries, A to Z mysteries and calender mysterie. Ron Roy was a shy kid and loved school. His first book was called a thousand pails of water. But ever since he wrote his book, but nobody wanted them. But he did not quit. his first book he had when he was 9 was King Arthur. but now more than 10,000 children are getting his books.

  20. Lincoln Peirce – By Claudia
    This is the biography of Lincoln Peirce. He was born on October 23, 1963 and grew up in Durham, New Hampshire. In the 5th and 6th grades he made up his own characters. He first began drawing cartoons at Colby College for the third floor newspaper. That’s it for his childhood. He studied at the Skowhegen school of painting and sculpture. In 1988 he had his first paid cartoon job. His first comic came out in 1991 and is featured on poptropica. He did several animated pieces for Nickelodean. He never won any awards he says the are not important. He may earn an award in the future because many kids like his books and read them over and over again. They will tell their friends about his books. He might win an award in the next year or two. He inspires kids to be authors when they grow up. Lincoln Peirce is now working on his 7th book. There are over 200 newspapers with big Nate comics in them. His books are featured on Good Morning America and The Boston Globe. He is now in Portland Main with wife and 2 kids. In my opinion Lincoln Peirce is a great author. I think my kids will be reading his books. His best book will gain an award even though he says they are not important.
