The grade 6 and 7’s started their unit on BLUES MUSIC today.  This interesting unit will explore the history of blues, 12 bar blues and composition.  We started off with these two videos today.

Congratulations to the entire Polar Express team!  Our cast, choir, stage crew and all our parent volunteers deserve “Bravo” for a job well done!  Putting on a show like this requires an amazing amount of hard work, dedication, trust and team work.  Each one of you contributed to the success of The Polar Express and went for it!  Well done!  In the words of Tom Hanks, “The thing about trains….it doesn’t matter where they’re going.  What matters is deciding to get on.”

I had the pleasure of accompanying Div. 1 to the beautiful Orpheum Theatre last  Wednesday to see and hear the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.  It was an excellent program and a beautiful day!

We spent our first session tuning ukes and eating timbits! Oh, and we learned C and G7 chords! I’m so excited to be working with these students!

Our Remembrance Day Assembly is always an opportunity for quiet, thoughtful reflection.  This year the assembly will be Monday, November 10th at 10:45 in the gym.  The choir will be singing two pieces and one of them will feature a surprise guest.  Let’s just say he’s a “blast from the past”.  Remember to wear your formal black and white attire.
