Who is Aja Geddes?

Who is Aja Geddes you may ask?

A daunting question… I will attempt to give you a glimpse into my world through answering several deep and meaningful questions.

1) If I were accepted to Hogwarts what house do I think I would be sorted into?

I strongly believe I would be a Hufflepuff. Hufflepuffs are a deeply caring group of individuals.  They believe in helping to make the world a better place and their actions are motivated not by fame or fortune by a strong sense of personal responsibility.  They care, deeply, for all living things as is often demonstrated by their head teacher Professor Sprout.

2) Dog or Cat person?

I grew up first with two cats (Ernie and Zout) then with a dog (Ribsy) and find the whole idea of picking between two perfectly lovely species terrible. I do prefer feline and canine friends who are willing to cuddle though.  In 2019 I adopted a dog names Leo who is an amazing at cuddles and sometimes eats foam…

3) What is my favourite book?

Too hard to choose… The Witches by Roald Dahl.  I love all of his writing, particularly how he is so adept at capturing the peculiarities of other worlds.  I also really enjoyed The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart for its puzzles and diverse plot twists and turns.

4) What is my favourite quotation?

On my first visit of the MACC program I was asked this by a student and it stumped me, what a great question! Since then I have been giving it great thought and have realized that quotations are meaningful to me in reference to the world around me at the time.  With that in mind I do not feel like I can pick just one as the world around me continues to change, right now this is one that hits home:

“I’ve been considering the phrase ‘all my relations’ for some time now. It’s hugely important. It’s our saving grace in the end. It points to the truth that we are related, we are all connected, we all belong to each other. The most important word is all. Not just those who look like me, sing like me, dance like me, speak like me, pray like me or behave like me. ALL my relations. It means every person just as it means every blade of grass, rock, mineral and creature. We live because everything else does.”

-Richard Wagamese

It reminds me of how important connection is and inspires me to go through life with gratitude and awe.

I hope that gives you an idea of who Aja Geddes is 🙂
