Our Schedule

Our schedule is flexible and responsive to the needs and interests of our class. We have big blocks of time to play every day. We get outside and explore as much as we can. We practice literacy and numeracy skills every day and in a variety of ways. There are some activities that are scheduled and consistent, such as:

Family Reading –  Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 – 9: 15 am. All caregivers and younger siblings are welcome to join us.

Gym – Monday afternoon with Ms. Nielsen and Thursday afternoons (shared or alternating with Ms. Bech’s class) .

We participate in daily physical activity. We get outside and get in some active time on the playground and using the park spaces around our school. Indoors, we participate daily in movement/action songs, stretching, breathing and yoga.

Music – Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays with Ms. Seah.

Story Workshop – After recess on Wednesdays and Fridays, we dive right into creating stories. One of our ELL teachers, Mr. Yang, helps us when we get to the writing part of capturing our stories on paper.

Library – Wednesdays with Ms. Lewis until Ms. Delvecchio returns.

Big Buddies – Friday afternoons  with Ms. Wilson’s Grade 4/5 class.

Let’s Go For a Walk! – We go for a walk as a class, at least once a week, but it is scheduled for Fridays. It is a commitment to get outside – no matter the weather – and to explore the land that we live and learn on.

Gratitude Circle – On Fridays, we end our week with remembering that we all have much to be grateful for.
