A Community of Learners! – Enchelmaier's Division 10

A Community of Learners!

| Posted in Uncategorized

This week, Division 10 looked outside of the classroom for learning experiences and opportunities.

We would first like to acknowledge Kai who has been a great connection for some of our Comic Club students.  He used to create Flip Books when in Room 15 a few years back and now in Grade 6, he was asked to come and show and share how he created his flipbooks.  It has been a great, creative experience for some students.

Another acknowledgement goes to Nils in grade 7.  When he was in Room 15, a few years back, he shared a story he had created with his father and also some video voice-overs he had done for the story, Frog And Toad Are Friends by Arnold Lobel. Division 10 has been connecting to frogs and toads so Nils was asked to come in and share his stories and creative experiences.

Division 10 also had the pleasure of visiting Room 14 to observe the hatching and development of baby chicks.  The learning experience was more than just fluffy and cute.  Thank you, Ms. Khoo.

Mrs. Grant released butterflies in the Clinton Indigenous Garden on Thursday.  With the garden right outside of our classroom, we got to witness the flight of the butterfly. Thank you, Division 14.

We didn’t get a photo of our Tropical Day experiences but we would like to share our appreciation for the Leadership Team who created the spirit day.  There were many flip flops, shorts, bucket hats and sundresses that day.

We also continue to build on community learning in class as well.  Today, math concepts were flowing as students created their own math journeys on a white board.

Thank you also to Division 10 students for developing the final word lists for the year.  They came up with the words that they would like to prepare for their final Word Quiz.

We had a lovely turn-out this morning for the parent and volunteer appreciation tea.  Thanks, as always, to our Division 10 parents for your continued support.  The students have shared their Frog-Tastic Feelings with appreciation posters in our classroom window.  Come and take a look.

Have a fabulous Friday and weekend.
