Last week we began exploring the scientific method. We asked questions about Skittles (the candy), made predictions, tested our predictions and recorded our observations and conclusions.
We asked many questions, but we formally explored one of them – “What happens when Skittles get wet?”
Many students predicted the colour would go into the water – but almost all were surprised by the beautiful way this happened when we added water to the plate.
One student predicted the Skittles would dissolve – it took some time but that prediction was also correct.
This term we will continue to work on asking questions, making predictions, recording observations, and forming conclusions.
