This week Division 11 has been talking about Orange Shirt Day. We have listened to the story When We Were Alone, read to us by the author David Robertson as part of a livestream, then we discussed the ideas of how people’s actions today are formed by their experiences in the past. For example in the story, Nokom (grandma) wears her hair long now because at residential school her hair was cut short. Students created Orange Hearts to display on the windows with messages or remembering, healing and hope.
