Before Spring Break, Division 8 planted Warba seed potatoes.

First we removed the largest sprout from each of our seed potatoes.
Then we placed them in a pot of soil & potato food and we gently covered them with soil.

Next we watered our seed potatoes.

Finally we waited (all Spring Break long). We left the potatoes to grow in our warm, bright, indoor pod space.
It is still too cold outside for our potatoes.
When we returned from break the seed potatoes had sprouted!!

The next step in caring for our potatoes was to hill them (add soil around the stems) and water them.

Now we wait some more.
We will continue to hill and water them as needed until they are ready to go outdoors.

The class noticed that the potato leaves are soft, green and have tiny fuzzy white hairs on them.
