Who We Are
School psychologists use their knowledge and skills in the identification procedures and program planning for students with special needs including autism, other developmental disorders, learning disabilities, and behavioral disorders.
All school psychologists who work in schools must be members of BC Association of School Psychologists (https://bcasp.ca/) or members of the College of Psychologists of BC (https://collegeofpsychologists.bc.ca/)
What We Do
School psychologists support students by:
- Consulting with school-based teams, school and district staff, parents, and community-based agencies and professionals
- Conducting psychological assessments of students who show educational, behavioural, and social-emotional difficulties
- Interpreting assessment results to support district and school-based staff in programming for their students
- Providing in-service workshops for teachers, parents, and other professionals
