1. Survey – thank you
Thank you to all those who completed the Virtual Learning survey — I have considered your thoughts to shape this week’s plan.
2. This Week’s Schedule
This week, we will have a weekly plan with daily posts and updates. Please continue to check the blog daily. A common response in the survey was that a lot of families are not able to follow the typical “Monday to Friday” schedule. If you are unable to follow the daily plan, please do so at the pace and time that works best for your situation.
Please submit the writing assignment and architecture assignment by Sunday April 19 (let me know if you need more time). Check Microsoft Teams — check the assignment page for access to both documents. Submit any written work through Teams (or email it to me) and any photos of your work through FreshGrade (or email me if FreshGrade is not working for you).

3. FreshGrade
Please look out for an email invitation from FreshGrade. Download the STUDENT version of the app. Be sure to check your junk mail. This is a simple and efficient platform in sending photos and messages through a smart phone or tablet. Please download the app and send me a photo/message to ensure it works.
If it is OK for me to share your work in our “Sharing Circle”, please let me know by saying “you may share this with the class” or “please do not share this with the class”.
4. Sharing Circle
On Friday at 11 am, we will try out a virtual Sharing Circle on Microsoft Teams. Please meet on the Teams chat page and we will have a video conference while each sharing either our writing assignment or architecture project (or something else we have been working on this week). If you are working on a different schedule, please join in as an audience. More details on this will come as we reach closer to the day…

We will be working on our Architecture Project this week.
What is architecture? Please practice using a dictionary (either paper or electronic) to find the definition.
Please check Microsoft Teams for a document on this assignment with all details required. While I have suggestions of the steps and when they should be completed, it is only a suggestions. Go at your own pace!
Part 1: Research
Step 1: Find a structure that piques your interest. This is a good resource to browse:

Step 2: Research using available resources (probably internet) to respond to the questions below. Keep track of where you are collecting your information from and make note of it in “Sources” (pg. 3 below).

Please check Microsoft Teams for more details on our writing assignment on The Mysteries of Harris Burdick By Chris Van Allsburg.
We will be using our inferring skills to write a juicy story inspired by the drawings and prompts of Chris Van Allsburg. We saw his work last term when you worked in groups to create dialogue for his book The Arrival.
- Please refer to this weblink.
- Read through the whole book.
- Select ONE page that interests you.
- Plan: making deep observations: What do you think is happening (maybe…) What do you wonder about (I wonder…)
- Start planning (using a planning sheet) to create a mystery story that goes with the picture and caption.
Remember: Show, don’t tell! (Don’t just tell the reader what is happening, describe what is happening giving hints and sensory detail).
Remember: Please review when to use new paragraphs while writing.

all i did was sleep and play roblox.
Really Mira we’ll have fun
my weekend was very fun, I got to go on lots of nature walks with my family. We also planted lots of flowers in are backyard. We had are own easter egg hunt. I’ve been able to do lots of arts&crafts.
On the weekend, we celebrated my dad’s birthday. We celebrated his birthday by eating cake and giving presents to my dad. The cake was red velvet cake. The present I gave him was a cup I design for my dad. My sister gave him a peashooter chime. My mom didn’t have anything so she started panicking and stole a bicycle seat that we already have. We also celebrated Easter Sunday. I woke up at six a.m (I was not intended to wake up that early.) and started to look for Easter eggs. And then I went back to count how many eggs I got. Turns out I got 35 eggs. My sister woke up to see all the eggs I found. Then my sister wanted to double check. There were a LOT more eggs. We even found these special eggs that had plastic around the egg and we couldn’t open the eggs. We had to leave the eggs in water for TWO WHOLE DAYS. I couldn’t wait. I let it sit in the water and then the shell was thin enough for me to crack the special eggs open. There were these weird things inside. I could not figure what they were. My sister thought that it was suppose to become bigger when you put in water but she was wrong. And that was my weekend.
On Saturday I woke up at 12 well at 10 I was rolling on my bed until 12 I came downstairs and basically did nothing on Sunday I woke up at 12 a.k.a. a 10 and I was rolling on my bed like usual I was doing nothing until my dad came home first we watched a movie and then my dad me and brother went outside to play soccer/basketball around sunset and then we came back in at 10 something I also noticed it was my cousins birthday so we put up some balloons Also made this Balloon thingamajig we got this red velvet cake I love it actually my whole family loved it. We called my cousin becoz she is in India after we went to sleep. Until it was Easter Monday. I woke up at a.k.a. at 10 like I do all the time or should I say this my routine. We played outside and my dad came .we played a little bit pod soccer with him than I played on skateboard organized a house little bit and watch t.v. That is my weekend:):):):):):):)
Over my weekend I got to see my grandpa on Saturday and
Monday . and I got to see my ether grandpa and grandma.
Overall my weekend was great i got to see my cousins.on Saturday i did gardening and it was very fun. i got to watch a movies with my family.

and i kept my distance when i did gardening and when i saw my cousins.
On my weekend I played on my iPad and got a lot of candy and a squishmallows
On my weekend l did lots of fun things like watch really good movies on Easter we did a egg hunt and I got 22 eggs we also got a Easter present we did not do any work on Easter Day.
My weekend was good because it was Easter, and Easter is my favorite holiday and I got most of the eggs and then I went to my moms house and we also did a Easter egg hunt and I won again and then we watched a movie
On my weekend it was easter. I woke up at 6:00 then at 7:00 or 8:00 I wake up my mom and dad and said wake up. We did a egg hunt and I got a bunny stuffy and a lot of candy. The candy was lollipops and candy eggs. I got other candy too. It was first easter for our cat that we are fostering named Pumpkin. Then we played outside for 1 hour then I needed water so I ran inside had some water and went back outside. It was fun to play with my mom and dad. Then we had something to eat then I did not know what to do so I played with Pumpkin. She is fun to be with and I spent time with Baby. Baby acts like a baby and needs to eat like all the time. Pumpkin had a little bit of food to eat she died not eat a lot. It’s cute to see her with 3 legs and is cute to play with. She is playful all the time but when she is asleep she is not playful. When she wakes up she is playful and we have a lot of toys to play with her. I had a good weekend.
On Friday I played videogames and dropped off some things at my grandparent’s house from a distance. On Saturday I stayed home and played videogames all day with my brothers. On Sunday I had a digital brunch (breakfast and lunch put together) with my family. I made a cake with my mom before brunch. Then my other cousins came over to drop off some stuff for us. We gave them some stuff too. On Monday I went for a walk with my mom and my brothers and I played videogames with my brothers again.
On Friday I dropped some stuff at my grandparents’ houses for Easter from a distance and I went for a drive downtown with my brothers and parents. I also drove by Vancouver hospital and we cheered for the healthcare workers at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday I went for a walk with my mom and brothers. And I played videogames with my brothers. On Sunday I had a digital brunch (breakfast and lunch) with my family. Then some of my cousins came to drop off some stuff from a distance. On Monday I stayed home all day and played video games. I also went for a walk. 🚶🐰🏩🥞
