Today we were so lucky to have TWO of our butterflies emerge during school! We are excited to see them continue to emerge and develop!
Yesterday we went to the Museum of Archaeology at SFU and learned so much!
I hope everyone has had a great transition back from spring break! Here are some pictures from our field trip last week where we went to the “Science in Action“ workshops. We had the chance to learn about kelp forests and lots of different insects!
With Pink Shirt Day coming up tomorrow, Ms. Ho read us “You’re Mean, Lily Jean” by Frieda Wishinsky. We have started some great discussions about inclusion, kindness, and respect.
This week at school we made heart cactus’s with our big buddies and had a heart scavenger hunt! We also started our measurement unit and have been talking about different tools to measure with!
This week has been so exciting! We had so much fun looking at all the book fair items, and playing in the snow. We did some Chinese new year yoga, and gardening with Mr. Pablo where we planted broccoli and made newspaper pots. We also continued to add to our animal books.
We have been having a great week celebrating reading and writing. We did some reading with our big buddies and made some amazing story workshop creations! We also put up our winter landscape art that we did with Ms. McGivern.
We are getting ready for literacy week next week by reading a lot! Tell us about your favourite books to read!
Over the last week at school we have continued to work on our addition facts, practicing many different ways. We also had a book talk with our librarian Ms. Ho, learning about different series of books to try.
We are so excited to start our informational animal books, make sure to ask about our animal!
Lastly, we also did a vocabulary scavenger hunt for science, to be more prepared for our life cycles unit!

Happy New Year everyone! We started off 2023 in our class by making some new years crowns to celebrate. We also had lots of fun playing a new years “Would you Rather” game! This week we are also learning how to use our new math journals.
