MICROSOFT TEAM SET UP FOR SUBMITTING LARGE MUSIC FILES
Many people have had large files such as videos to submit as part of their music assignments and have had trouble finding ways to get them submitted. I have set up a Microsoft Team that people can use to upload such files. If you ever need to submit a file that’s too large to send as an email, type your email address in the comments field or email me at adrian.clift@burnabyschools.ca requesting to be added to the Music Team, then I’ll add you to the Team as a member with instructions over how to upload your files.

Music Monday song – “Hymn To Freedom”
Many of you will remember singing the Oscar Peterson song “Hymn To Freedom” for Music Monday last year. The same song has been selected for Music Monday this year, which takes place on May 4th. Information on the event can be found at the link below.
Can you sing the song at home, and submit a recording of yourself singing? I’ve included a Youtube link at the bottom of this post for a choir singing the song (they sing it bilingually in French and English, but the English lyrics are subtitled all the way through if you want to sing along in English). I’ve also included a link for lyrics and a piano accompaniment track that you can use to practice singing solo and for your recording.

NEW ACTIVITIES POSTED FOR EACH GRADE LEVEL!
Under the page for your grade level you’ll see a page titled (Apr 14th – 2nd round of activities). On this page you’ll see 3 or 4 musical activities to choose from that can be done at home. Not all activities have to be done, but I expect each student to do at least one.
I welcome recordings or written accounts of work that students are doing at home, and hope to receive something from every student.
More activities will be posted in about two weeks time. If there is anything anybody would like to ask, confirm, or clarify please contact me at adrian.clift@burnabyschools.ca.
