Gr. 2/3

Apr 28th – 3rd round of activities (Gr. 2/3)

  1. Compose your own piece of music to from instruments/objects that you have at home. Maybe consider expressing in your music the thoughts and feelings you’ve experienced since you’ve been at home away from school. Maybe get family members to help by playing other instruments/objects at the same time. If possible submit a recording of your composed music.
  2. Write out a series of quarter note, eighth note, and quarter rest symbols. Use body percussion (claps, pats, stomps, snaps) or an instrument that you have at home to play the rhythm created by your combination of symbols.
  3. Pick a favourite story. Create music to accompany the story. Strategies could include using instruments or objects at home to create sounds that represent characters or events in the story, or singing some of the words of the story with a tune that represents characters or events in the story.

How to submit work

Please submit work through one of the following three methods:

  1. Comment on any of the blog posts (if comments are to show on the blog site I have to ‘approve’ them, so I can just not approve your comment and view the work at my end).
  2. Email it to me at adrian.clift@burnabyschools.ca
  3. Add it to Google Drive and invite me through the ‘share’ option (probably the best method for submitting large files such as long video recordings).

If you need assistance with submitting work please email me at Adrian.clift@burnabyschools.ca
