Good morning, Division 4,
I hope you are having a great start to your day!
This week, we are doing a mystery science lesson that is a bit longer than the previous ones. Many of you were excited to move on to rocks, rock cycles, and earth sciences! And today’s mystery science will be all about volcanoes.
- First watch this mystery science video about volcanoes!
- Do the mapping activity! (You are not required to print them)
- Answer the assessment questions!
- After you complete the lesson and activity, you can try this extension:
- Video: A 4-minute documentary about Paricutin, the volcano that erupted in a cornfield.
- Video: A 7-minute, fascinating exploration of the Salton Sea and boiling mudpots there.
Do you have a favorite volcanoes? Explore these resources!
I noticed that many of you are figuring out how to use Teams! Please be patient with yourselves as you learn this new tool. Teams is one way that we can find and share work with our teachers to get feedback. I will be posting activities each day, but there will be opportunities for choice and extensions.
If our activities spark passion and creativity in other areas, please feel encouraged to follow those inquiries as well. I would love to hear about your learning adventures! Please always feel welcome to share photos, reflections, and ideas from your projects.
