Hello Division 8!
Today I’m sharing with you one of the funniest poets that I know…his name is Jack Prelutsky!
- Click on the link below and listen to me read aloud the poem, “Louder than a Clap of Thunder” by Jack Prelutsky.
What was your first reaction when you heard this poem? What was your favourite part? Did you like all the describing words he uses in the poem? Were you able to ‘picture the words’ (visualize) in your mind? Please write your comments below!
Jack uses LOTS of describing words in this poem! When you’re done, I want you to create what your mind imagined when you heard me read aloud the poem. Create one moment of the poem either by:
- Sculpting – use play-doh or any other 3-d object to make your sculpture
- Drawing – Get a piece of paper, markers, pencil crayons and draw ONE moment in the poem.
When you’re done, please take a picture and send it to me at Satpaul.Binng@burnabyschools.ca! Thank you! I can’t wait to see your creations!
Have fun creating today!
Love,
Ms. Binng
