Story Workshop:

Story workshop is a wonderful way to use loose parts from around the house to create stories. Please see the link below for ideas. Students in my class have already done this. They need to remember to include characters, setting, problem and solution. Once they have created their story, have them orally share it with someone. They can then grab paper and begin to write their story.
