Module One Post Five (The physics of the “hardest move” in ballet)

This video talks about the hardest move in ballet, and how it involves physics. To many, one of the hardest moves in ballet is considered to be 32 pirouettes on point, which also consist of fouettés. This difficult move is seen in Swan Lake, performed by the Black Swan. The video explains how physics help the Black Swan maintain her balance.

This is helpful to me because I now understand the physics behind this difficult move and why skilled ballerinas are able to execute it without falling.I learned that in between each turn the ballerina pauses for a split second. Her supporting foot then flattens and twists while rising back onto point. I also learned the reason why you barely notice the pause, it’s because her other leg never stops moving.This video showed the pirouette in slow motion which helped me visualize it better.

PART ONE

Mathematical tools have been used in the creation of art . Artists would use mathematical devices to make their art have more dimension such as in perspective drawing you would need a ruler to make the perspective look good. many artists also use the golden ratio like Leonardo Da Vinci used the golden ratio in his paintings for example the Mona Lisa

The golden Ratio also known as the  Fibonacci sequence is a mathematical sequence that many artists used usually in the from of a rectangle in which the longer side to the shorter is the golden ratio. They used this proportion because they fond it aesthetically pleasing, this pattern is sometimes found in nature

module one post 5(making space)

in soccer you need to be able to make space on soccer field you need to because if you are cover you need to find away to get the person with the ball able to pass to you.it is important to do  this if you want to keep the ball one the field.My soccer team does not make space on the field so we lose most of our games.

module one post 4(passing)

In soccer passing is another key part.passing is useful in a lot of situations like if you are stuck or if you cant get around someone. There are may different types of soccer passes like a through ball, short pass,long ball and a  cross. when i play i normally just make short pass I sometimes  make long balls and trough balls. making passes you need to make sure they are hard enough to get to the player you are passing to.

In soccer you need to be good at dribbling because soccer plays a big part in soccer .when you first get the soccer ball you need to start off slow then fast. There are so many different soccer drills and different skill moves.all soccer moves have a back story and they all started in different places in the world.some soccer moves are really easy to learn but some are really hard.

This website talks about different  types of ways how to shoot like if you notice a goalie is on one side of the net shoot on the other side.It also talks about how were most shots are taking on the net.It involves math because to find out were most shots are taking they have to change it into a percent.

post 4 module 1 soccer finding space

in soccer it is very important to find space. it is related to math by moving and how much you have to move.like how many steps you have to move and how fast and when to move.like you have to time your run.when you are planing you need to know when and where to run you  can do this by finding their blind spots then quickly running in front or moving quickly away and then back where they want to go and then their teammates passing them the ball once they find space.

post 3 module 1 soccer with dribbling the ball

with dribbling the ball you need to time it and with dribbling you need speed. with dribbling you start running then when your about a meter in front of the payer you do the trick. then once you have past them then you accelerate and speed away from the defender.say you right outside the eighteen yard box and there are a lot of defenders in front of you then you have to keep the ball close to you and do the tricks around them but keep the ball close to you. same thing once you past them accelerate or if your in front of the net then you shoot.

Module 1 Post 5 (The Mathematics of Ballet)

This site is very useful because their are many different topics that explain why math is in ballet. Although this site doesn’t have much words there is still quite a bit of information that could be useful. This site shows that the dancers must be able to count the music to stay on time with the other dancers. They also must keep their balance and must move equally. They also have to learn the 8 corner and they must understand symmetry and geometry. They must also understand the directions of counterclockwise and clockwise, they must know this because there are two different types of pirouettes en dedans and en dehors. They must know the directions for the turn.


The dancers appear the same because they are counting the music.

 


Dancers must keep there balance on pointe by staying symmetrical.

This is very helpful because it shows that there are a lot of different topics and I can explore other topics. This helps because it had pictures and videos to show what they were trying to explain. It helped me understand what they were trying to say. There were some websites that had a lot of information but I didn’t really understand what they were trying to say because there were visual information (pictures).

to do a standard pass with math you need to time your pass and moving between the players and making runs to get the ball.when you want to receive the ball you have to make runs and call for the ball.and the person who is passing the ball has to Time their pas of the ball and put it in front of their feet so they can run onto the ball
