Vinegar and Baking Soda Experiment

Purpose: To find out what happens when vinegar and baking soda are combine together.

Materials:
clear cup
vinegar
baking soda

Results:
When vinegar and baking soda combines together, we see lots of foam and bubbles. There is some liquid at the end of the experiment.

This is an acid-base reaction that results in gas (carbon dioxide), water, and sodium acetate.

Extension:
Try putting baking soda in a balloon (unblown) and vinegar in a bottle. Combine the two. What happens?
