Dear Parents,

Today, we started off with reading and going over our new spelling words: there is a combination of SEL, Math, and Literacy words in there.

After that, we worked on our poetry. I showed the kids two examples of “Pyramid Poems” which are the kind we worked on writing today. Students had to write three different rough draft poems, and then pick one after it was teacher edited, to write in their Poetry booklet. This is due tomorrow if not done (just the Pyramid Poem page).

Then, we had snack and DPA.

After DPA, we continued working on the poetry. Then, Mrs. Chim came in and did a reading on First Nations Sustainability Practices with the Grade 5’s and the Grade 4’s were assigned to read about the Ocean/Aquatic Biome and add this to their biome sheet (homework if not done). The Grade 5’s also had time to work on their natural resource questions from a couple of classes ago, which is also due tomorrow if not done.

After lunch, we had our Daily 5 groups and then at the very end of the day, we worked on our embroidery. I also read the kids some cool poems on dinosaurs, which was a lot of fun.

Have a lovely night!

Sincerely,
Ms. Wilks

(Just a reminder to wear running shoes for Ms. Parke’s lesson on Thursday).
