Hello summer!

Welcome to your last week of school!  It’s always bitter sweet to say good-bye to the school year and hello to summer.

We have lots of celebrations this week, starting with Lexie’s birthday on Monday.  Happy Birthday to Lexie!  We have two summer birthdays to celebrate as well with Helen and Cedric who both have birthdays in July.  Let’s not forget to give our birthday wishes to them as well.  Our last class meeting will be Wednesday at 10am.  We hope everyone can join in for our ‘bouquet’ exchange.

It is your last full week of school everyone!  Wow!  It will definitely go down in history as one of your most memorable.

We still have some exciting activities this week and things to celebrate.  Tomorrow is Tracy’s birthday so Happy Birthday to her!  Also, Wednesday is your virtual BC Parliament Field Trip on Zoom.  So cool!

To help keep you organized you are working on DOL #34 this week, Journal entry #9, and your two final projects for our Math Graphing Unit and Novel Study Groups.

Learning Opportunities for the week of June 8th-12th

Hello Division 5!  We are in the home stretch of your academic year and you are all continuing to be engaged and dedicated learners.  We are so proud of your consistent effort in all that you do!  This week we will have one video chat session on Wednesday.  The discussion will be focused around your novel studies so we will be meeting in small groups.  We will send out your invitations through TEAMS so be on the look-out for those.  Just a reminder that Monday is a Pro-D day so teachers will be in the building in meetings and workshops.  We will see some of you back in the classroom on Tuesday!

This week, the theme for one of our morning TEAM posts in our virtual classroom was sharing a daily Act of Kindness.

Here are some of the ways Division 5 is spreading kindness:

Right now, my act of kindness will be to help my daughter make cream of wheat for breakfast.  (Mrs. C.)

Morning, an act of kindness I am doing is doing the laundry and sweeping the floor.  Also making breakfast for my brother.

Doing laundry for my mom is my act of kindness.

I make breakfast, wash the dishes, and do the laundry!

I do the vacuum, laundry, and washing the dishes.

I did my mom’s taxes today so she could save a bit of money. (Mrs. W.)

I clean up the dinner table and sweep the floor.  Also I put the chairs where it’s supposed to go. It’s a lot of hard work.

I wash the dishes and I almost do every housework every day.

I feed the fish and sweep the floor.
