Hello Families,

Hope the students of Div. 18 are doing well! Us teachers have been learning to Zoom and collaborating in online meetings to learn from each other and to prepare for teaching our students online 🙂

I will be contacting every family individually over the next couple days to say hello and to check in with you. I recognize that everyone may be facing challenges and I hope to support our class and families as best I can through this time.

We will continue our Daily 5 literacy program, although it will look different than before. I have created a ‘class’ through Epic Books with your child as a member, links to log in where just sent to family emails. Each child has a profile through which they can explore thousands of books to be read to them, or to read independently. I will also be able to ‘assign’ individual books for your child to read that will be at their specific reading level, so that they can practice the reading strategies we have been learning all year. For the next few days, I encourage you to explore Epic books at your leisure and to become familiar with the tool if you are able to.
