We learn about being readers and writers by engaging with print in playful ways. We start with our names because they matter to us! We learn about how letters and sounds work when we practice reading poems and songs, signs, books and more! We also experiment with letters and sounds when we write messages, lists, signs, and stories. As we read and talk about books, we get ideas and learn about being an author.
