Dear families,
We want to tell you about all the learning we have been doing in math:
We have learned about sorting! We learned that we can sort by colour, shape, size and texture! We can make our own sorting rules too.
We are learning about patterns! First we practiced action patterns: head, shoulder, shoulder, head, shoulder shoulder… or heart, hug, head, heart, hug, head… We have learned how to do ABAB, ABBA, and ABC patterns. We have done patterns with colours and are practicing patters with materials. We are learning new things at math!
We are also counting collections! We have little animals in a bag. We have learned ways to help us count, like putting things in a line, and pointing to each material one at a time. We count to find out how many! We are good at counting!
We can practice at home too! We can look for patterns around the room! We can even find patterns on our clothes! We can count things at home like how many couches, how many toys, how many socks, how many chairs, how many beds, how many crayons and more!
Let’s have fun being math detectives!
Love,
Division 13
